SOTC Nautical Card!

This is my card for our every other month swap for an awesome group of ladies on SCS--the SOTC--Sisters of the Traveling Cards!  We recently added some additional ladies to the group and I am excited to see all of their swap cards too.  Kelly is our hostess for February and she posted the following:

Let's Get Naught-y!"

Indeed that's what we are doing this month - getting *Nautical!* Since most of you know my obsessive love of the ocean, and to get you out of your cold months and winter snow, let's create cards with a nautical theme! Think lighthouses, sailboats, anchors, maps and more, let your creativity flow and your heart 'sail' ♥

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain

Sets your sails creating and I 'shore' can't wait to see your cards!

This was a fun challenge and I really need to make more masculine cards, as that is what I think of when I think of nautical.  I really like this retired Stampin' Up stamp and the DSP is one of my favorites!  I also tried something new as I stamped the sailboat image with SU's Night of Navy instead of using black.  I like it!  I layered the Early Espresso Ribbon over a strip of Soft Suede taffeta ribbon.

I hope Kelly and the other "sistahs" like my card:

Here is the inside of my card:

Image/Sentiment:  Stampin' Up Sail Away/inside Setting Sail

Cardstock:  Gina K White; SU Early Espresso, Basic Gray, Cherry Cobbler, Nautical Expeditions Designer Series Paper

Ink:  Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler

Accessories—SU Early Espresso 1/8" Stitched Grosgrain, Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon, Gray Brads; Copic Markers

very well done Barb. I like the way you finish off the insides of your cards. I am a new Sistah (wannabe) and am really happy to be in the group. Can't wait to see everyone's cards! This should be fun.

Very Naut-ical! Great image- and I like the idea of not stamping in black. Your ribbon is perfect with the DP. I cannot wait to get the swap back in the mail and see all of the interpretations on the theme.
