January is Joy!

It is the 15th of the month and that means I am showing you a new Dueling Darlings card--our first of the new year.  For the January Challenge, Laura Jean and Darlene decided on the theme-New Year!   Darlene is the one of the Dazzlers and Laura Jean is a Diva, the team that I am on!

Laura Jean
sent each of the Divas an image of a January 2018 calendar and we are to add our own stamps to create a New Year card!  It does not need to be new year's themed--but something new! LJ also included some beautiful gold patterned papers and wonderful matching embellishments! This sure was a fun card to make!

I knew right away what I wanted to do with that image and I did not want to use a stamped image over the top.  I used a die to cut out the word JOY from some gold cardstock and placed it over the January image.  I added a gold rhinestone on the date of Saturday, January 20th.  Some of you might know the reasoning behind those two specific items-but I will share with everyone!  This month brings me great joy as three of the DDD group are flying in on Thursday this week and staying at my house for 4 nights.  Then, on Saturday, January 20th, three more DDD's are joining me and the others at Camp Stamp-in-Oga!  So--there will be 7 of the Dueling Darlings all in one place for one entire day, plus some time on Sunday for a watercolor class taught by my friend Kathy!

I am overjoyed with happiness to have so many of my SCS friends joining me in Wisconsin and I get to meet my friend Kelly from Florida for the first time. Yes, you read that right--Kelly, from Florida, is coming to Wisconsin in January and she really wants to!  Darlene from New Hampshire is flying in for her third January camp, 4 total for her and Carol is coming to her third one!  Jeanette is driving up from Illinois to join us for the first time at camp, though she was here a few years ago and stamped at my house.  The regulars from Wisconsin, Terry and LJ, will also be at camp on Saturday and at my house on Sunday for class.  Yes--lots and lots of Joy!

Be sure to check back on Sunday to see the card I made for our shoebox swap between the 7 of us--it is snow themed, in honor of Kelly seeing snow this week!

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope all of the Darlings enjoy my card this month. Please be sure to stop in to see what all of the Divas as well the Dazzlers have created this month.

There are a few members who do not have blogs:  Suzy and Terry S who both are on the Diva team, and Terry A, Paola and Debby who are Dazzlers.  You will be able to check out their creations in their SCS gallery, if you click on the link for their name.  All of the others should be found on my left sidebar.  I am sure you will enjoy all of the wonderful creations this month!
