Challenge Your Stash

Today is the day I post a project for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 32nd month of de-stashing-we are well into our 3rd year into our challenges.

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Suzy posted our September challenge--We have Choices--Get Well, Hope you are feeling better, Thinking of You, Hope recovery is going well. Pick one of these!

I went with a masculine themed card by using some wood patterned paper along with a sweet sentiment to use to perk someone up!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today or in the next few days.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSSEP.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For October, Vickie is up and we already know our fun theme.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

Autumn CASE

This is the 36th week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. September is to pick the most recent Featured Stamper from SCS and go to their gallery to CASE a card.  Every Tuesday in September, I picked a different featured stamper for my monthly challenge.

For my final card in September, Michelle, mfb on SCS, was the Featured Stamper 645.  Laura has some fun cards and I picked this fall card to CASE:

I picked the Stampin' Up set called Rooted in Nature and also used the coordinating dies.  The background is a die from Tim Holtz called Scribbles and Splat and the sentiment was cut from a Gina Marie Stitched Rectangle die.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.

This card is for the monthly swap that Pam hosts on SCS.  Each month we make 10 cards and include a matching envelope.  They can be any theme for any month.  All of the swappers are wonderful and I have received awesome cards each and every month.

I inked a fun stamp that I think can be used for many occasions and added some sweet designer paper.    I think everyone can use a card like this!

Let's Do Coffee

This is my card for September's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month.

We lost a member of our group and Suzy, our coordinator, challenges us to use Sketch 707 from SCS and make a card of encouragement.

I thought the sketch was fun. I went with a coffee theme and used a great Taylored Expression stamp set! I know that I will use this card in the future!

Here is the inside of my card:

The Creative Card Chicks are to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars, you may see more of these wonderful creations! Many of our members also post their card in our SCS thread--so you might find more there.  This is the fourth month of the new round.   Be sure to come back and join us again in October and see the image that Maggie sends to us!

Be Creative Every Day!

This card is for a Mystery Swap on SCS. A group of us do a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess. This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette and we are now in our 54th round!  I am our hostess this month and I sent everyone this great image from a Gina K stamp set. I swapped out the cards already and sent everyone the next image, which Tracie picked out! We then get to do it all again, for round #55, in November!

I used some of the fun Stampin' Up Designer Series Paper called Follow Your Art and it fits the image perfectly!   This is such a fun sentiment and I challenged everyone to be creative in the card they made.  I swapped these out yesterday and the cards were sure cute and very creative!

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope all of the mystery swappers like my card.  If you check my sidebar on the left, you might see some other swappers who have posted their cards yesterday, today or in the next few days.

First Love

Today is third Wednesday of the month and this is my Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card! The 3 Musketeers--Kelly, Jeanette and me--are back with another challenge for September-our 28th month!  That means we are well into our third year--YAY!

I provided the challenge for September: I checked a site and saw that September 18th,  our posting date, is National First Love Day!  Who Knew there was such a day?!   This is what the website says:  Ah, young romance! The springtime of life, when our fullest fancies first turn to thoughts of love (to paraphrase Alfred, Lord Tennyson). September 18 is National First Love Day, and we welcome the holiday with open arms — much like we welcomed our first boyfriend or girlfriend.  Do you remember your first love? Most people do, even if — or perhaps especially if — that love was unrequited, and the memory carries with it a sort of sweet melancholy. National First Love Day is a time to celebrate the youthful vigor and boundless energy that carried us through our early romances, setting the stage for all that followed. Who was your first love? Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we?

So here’s the September theme or challenge:  Pick a first love-it might be the person you have married, or your first child, a movie you just love to watch, or your first trip abroad, the book you love to read, or your first kiss, etc.  Pick something that you remember as a “first love”.  Design a card or another project that showcases your first love.

Ready? Set? Go!

I thought and thought and thought a bit more............... What do I remember as a first love and one that I have a stamp to showcase.  So--back to my childhood and my Blue Huffy--my first bike!  I vividly remember getting it and it was love at first sight.  I am not sure how old I was, but I remember riding to the corner and back.  That was as far as I was allowed at the beginning.  But, I remember riding farther and farther every year and I loved the freedom.  Except the one time I fell on the side road by us that by us, coming down the hill, and washing gravel out of my knees and elbows!

My card shows an old fashion bike and I am not that old!  But, I love this image and somehow it reminds me of my Blue Huffy--with Streamers!

Here is the inside of my card.

Please be sure to check out the other Ready, Set, Go cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card.  Jeanette is up for the next theme, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd Wednesday in October!
