August Calendar Girls--Sew Happy
Inside of the card
Welcome to another round with the Calendar Girls!
Who are the Calendar Girls? We are a group of bloggers who want to have a place where friendships blossom, creativity abounds, and encouragement prevails! In keeping with that dream, this blog group has been created so we will have a place to interact and enjoy being fellow bloggers.
This month hostess is our Miss July—Debbie. Here are the directions from the Delightful Debbie: SEW” Glad We Are Friends!!!
Because I just love this entire group and it feels that we have been friends forever, I just wanted to say…”Sew” Glad We Are Friends!
So for this month’s card here are the requirements.
1. Please use the above sentiment on the card somewhere. Some of you may have a stamp with that sentiment-if so, that’s great!! But if not, just type it up on your computer and print it out. (Sorry…making you work.) LOL
2. Please use at least one button on your card. (Use as many as you like...but there has to be at least one.)
3. Please have stitching of some kind on your card. You can use a sewing machine, hand stitching or faux stitching using a pen.
4. Once your card has posted to your blog, please send your card to a friend telling them how much you appreciate them and that you are “sew” glad you are friends! If you want, you can tell us in your blog post who is receiving your card and how special they are to you.
5. I know there is a lot of cute DP and stamps out there with a sewing theme, so if you have those go ahead and use them. But if you don’t have them, don’t fret-they are not necessary. Just please have the sentiment, button and stitching on your card for sure.
I do not have this stamp and did not want to print it out, so I “needed” to go shopping for it. Did not find in anyplace—after like 6 stores of necessary shopping. So, I found this cute paper as well as the felt stickers and the Tim Holtz die. I know the sentiment is not what is expected, but it works for me.
This card will be given to my friend Claudia—I have known her since college and we were roomies for seven years. She is great and as the inside states—We are Stickin’ Together!
Cardstock—Stampin’ Up So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirquette; Doodlebug Nifty Notions
Accessories—K & Company Stickers--Includes stitching and buttons, Tim Holtz Sewing Die, Quickutz Beads
Please check out the blogs of all of the Calendar Girls—there are 10 of us, so it might take you a bit. I am sure you will enjoy all of the August creations as I am sure they are SEW Cute!. All of the blogs are listed on my left sidebar.
I hope you enjoy looking at our cards! Thanks for joining us!!!!!!!

SOTC--Clean and Simple Card for August
This is a card that I made for August for our monthly SOTC—Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards-- Swap on SCS. Gael was the host and the theme was C.A.S.—Clean and Simple Cards. That is a struggle for me as we could only use two layers (card-base counted as one) and no more than two embellishments. I hope she does not consider Copics an embellishment……………., but I have one brad on the card and if an embossing folder is an embellishment, then I am at two!
Image/Sentiment—Whipper Snapper-Thinking of You Flowers
Cardstock—Stampin’ Up Pink Pirquette; Gina K White
Ink—Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories—Bronze Dragonfly Brad—maybe Gael considers Copics and Stampin’ Up Framed Tulips Embossing Folder too…………………………

Dueling Darling Divas August Card---It's So Hot.....Let's Cool Off
This is Lucky Round #13 of the Dueling Darlings!
Judy is our great hostess for the Divas for August and she sent some awesome items for us to play with. Paola is the hostess for the Dazzlers and these two wonderful ladies came up the theme "It's So Hot...... Let's Cool Off"! The elements Judy sent were all beach themed and I loved every one of them. I tried to use as many as I could on my card this month, but have quite a few things left over for more summer cards.
Judy and Paola also asked each of us to share a favorite way to cool off in the "dog days" of summer we have been experiencing. The best way I know this year is to stay in the air conditioned house and probably in the family room in the lower level. I also love to have a glass of sun iced tea as a beverage and may even check out the frozen treats in the freezer--WW fudge bars and Skinny Cow cookies or bars are my favorite.
Card Details:

Paper—SU Bashful Blue; Gina K In the Navy; American Crafts Margarita Patterned Paper

Please be sure to stop in to see what all of the Divas created.
Barb:You are here!
