Halloween ~ Scary or Cute?

This is my card for the October Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 10th month of de-stashing!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Jody posted our October challenge--Halloween--scary or cute?   Jody mentioned that she has a disagreement with her son about how to decorate for Halloween.  So--we were to create a card that represents how we decorate for Halloween in our home.  I guess you can see, I am on the Cute Side!  I do have a number of Halloween stamps, so more of a challenge was to decide which one to use--so of course I pick Whipper Snapper Designs!  There is a bit of sparkle on his nose and cheeks, along with some black sparkle on the spider!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today or in the next day or so.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSOCT.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For November, Vickie is up and I cannot wait to see her challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

I inked up one of my new Stampin' Up Christmas sets--Carols of Christmas.   I love this set and used some of my favorite retired Christmas DSP--Be of Good Cheer. I think everyone can use Christmas Cards!

Stampendous Skaters

This is card #5 is for a group that Jeanette started on SCS.  Jeanette is the Queen of Christmas and has way more trees and Christmas decorations in her house that I do---and that is quite an accomplishment!  This group is called Christmas CraZy.  This is a bi-monthly "swap" in which we are paired with someone in the group for those two months.  We are to send a kit to our partner--two identical images and two pieces of patterned paper. We can also send a matching sentiment.  That is it--no embellishments like ribbon, brads, buttons, etc., or additional cardstock--just images and two pieces of Christmas patterned paper.  We are to send the kit to our partner during the odd numbered month--like September.  We then make and post our card on the even month!  Then, next round, we are paired with another person and get to do it all again.

This time, I was matched with Jen and received a great kit with some fun Stampendous images.  Jen also die cut two sets of these cuties and that is what I used. I hope that Jen and the others like my card!

Postage Due

This is my card for October's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month. Sue is the hostess this month and she sent us this great image, along with some of the smaller images from the same set, which I used inside.  Sue also sent some sweet patterned paper along with the baker's twine and butterflies.

I was not sure what to do with such a large image that has little to really color.  So, I grabbed a couple of sponges and inked the wheels of the bike with Island Indigo and the lily with some Crisp Cantaloupe.  I am thinking the card looks a bit artsy!

The Creative Card Chicks to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars, you may see more of these wonderful creations!  Many of our members also post their card in our SCS thread--so you might find more there.  Maggie is up for the November Challenge.  Please be sure to come back to see what image she has sent!

No Coloring Between the Lines

It is the third Wednesday of the month and that means a Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card!  The 3 Musketeers (Jeanette, Kelly and me) are back with another challenge this month--our sixth month of this!

Jeanette came up with our challenge for October.  No Coloring Between the Lines.  What??????    This is what Jeanette wrote:  Choose an image you normally WOULD color. (In other words, not a sentiment or multi-layer stamp that lays down the color for you.)  BUT don't color between the lines!
Instead, my challenge to you is to think of a creative way to use that image on your card WITHOUT COLORING BETWEEN THE LINES.

I pondered and pondered and fretted some more.  I even asked my friend Terry at Camp Stamp-in-Oga this past weekend along with a few other stampers--what do I do?  I got a couple of ideas and had a few thoughts of my own, but on Sunday, I saw a card that was black and white with an uncolored rose.  Ding--Ding--Ding.  That is it!  I think this would be a great wedding card or even a birthday card.

Here is the inside of my card:

Please be sure to check out the other Ready, Set, Go cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card and that you might too!  Kelly is up for the next theme, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd Wednesday in November!

Heather

This is the card for the 34th round of the Unidentified Image swap on SCS.  It is a group of ladies who are a part of a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The unidentified part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--that was yesterday!   The image for this round was provided by Paola.   She will swap the cards and include the next image that Jody, our next hostess in their return envie.  And then we get to do it all again--for round #35--in December!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations today or in the next few days.  I hope Paola and everyone in the swap like my card!

It is the 15th of the month and that means I am showing you a new Dueling Darlings card.  For the October Challenge, Terry L. and Tami. decided on the theme--Halloween!   Terry L. is the one of the Dazzlers and Tami is a Diva, the team that I am on!

Tami
sent each of the Divas this cute little girl along with two sentiments--I was able to use both!  Tami also included some colorful Halloween patterned papers and wonderful matching embellishments! This sure was a fun card to make!

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope all of the Darlings enjoy my card this month. Please be sure to stop in to see what all of the Divas as well the Dazzlers have created this month.
