Darlene's kit-Card #1

Here I am again to share the cards that I have made with the fun card kits I received in January.  I was so excited to be the recipient of these snowy themed card kits in a swap that I am hosting on SCS.  I received 10 kits and I plan to make 2 cards from each kit.  That was my idea in 2018 and I succeeded--and I am pretty sure that I can do it again!   So--stay tuned as I will be making the wintry cards and posting all of them soon!

This is card kit #4, from Darlene and this is my first card from her kit.  She sent quite a variety of images and I had a hard time picking just two. This image is from The Stamp Barn called Snowy House. Darlene also included some fun patterned paper by Echo Park Paper called Warm & Cozy along with many, many fun embellishments. I was able to make 2 cards and I will post the second card tomorrow-check back if you want to check it out.

Be sure to check back to see the rest of my creations from this fun card kit swap in the next few weeks!

I colored the sweet house image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I picked the snowy tree patterned paper for my background.  The embellishment is just some red-green-white-kraft thick twine.

Here is the inside of my card:

Thanks for a great kit Darlene--these were two fun cards to make!

Tulip Bouquet

Today I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 40th month of de-stashing-we are into our 4th year of our challenges.

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Joyce posted our April challenge--Make a card using one of your floral stamps that has never been used yet and for a bonus, send it out to someone to say you are thinking of them.

I picked up a Simon Says Stamp set I got last year called Sketch Tulip Bouquet and it was not inked yet!  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  It is a large image so I die cut a Gina Marie Scalloped Stitched Rectangular Frame.  Some pink pearls are the embellishment.

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSAPR.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For May, Sue is up.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

Live, Laugh, Love Friend!

It is a Tuesday and time for my card a week challenge.  This is my final card for April, with the theme of CAS.  May will be a fun month with a new theme--stop in next Tuesday to see what it is.

I went with an Impression Obsession stamp called Live Every Moment.  I inked it up with Stampin' Up Rococo Rose and layered over some pretty paper from a MFT-My Favorite Things 6x6 paper pack called Watercolor Wash.  I added the Friend die cut and a few white pearls.  I think it is a pretty CAS card.

Here is the inside of my card:

I like the look of this card and hope you do too.

I hope you will stop back next Tuesday to see what the new challenge is!

Believe in Santa!

This is my March-April card for the Christmas CraZy group on SCS. We are in our fourth year of this fun group.  Pansy took over in 2018 for the group that Jeanette had organized the year before.  We each receive a card kit from another person in the group and made a card with the image and papers sent.

For this round, I was matched with Jill and received this cute Santa image.  She also sent some sweet patterned paper. and I picked the plaid for my background.  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and layered it with some Spellbinder Circle Dies.  I used some Stampin' Up punches for my card--the mini-pennants and ovals for the sentiment.  Cherry Cobbler Quilted Satin Ribbon and green pearls complete the card.

Tea Party Time

This is my card for April's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month.

Kelly is the hostess this month and sent everyone this sweet image called Time for Tea. She included some sentiments for each person to chose from. Kelly also sent some patterned paper along with other cute embellishments.

I colored the cute image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut it with Rubbernecker Nested Oval Scallops Dies.  I layered the Shimmer Powder Pink ribbon over the Whisper White Flax and placed the image on the top.  I added some pearls on the image and the tag for the sentiment.

Here is the inside of my card:

The Creative Card Chicks are to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars, you may see more of these wonderful creations! Many of our members also post their card in our SCS thread--so you might find more there.  Be sure to come back and join us again in May with an image that Vikki sends out.
