Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!!!

Today I am showing you a card for my monthly challenge for 2021--At Home With Gnomes. Each month I will create a card using one of my many gnome images.

For this card, I picked a gnome and sentiment set from Photo Play Paper Gnome For The Holidays--Halloween--and it comes with matching dies! I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut the gnome along with the candy corn and bat.  I added the Boo sentiment from the same set and bannered the end!   The background paper and grounded paper is from the same sheet of Echo Park Paper Happy Halloween collection called Bat Festival. I added some orange enamel dots for the final touch!

I am sure I have more than enough gnome images to use a different one each month.  I will be back in November and will show you another gnome, so stay tuned!

Bountiful Haul

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 58th month of de-stash and we are in the middle of our 5th year of our challenges.

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Sue posted our October challenge--make a Masculine card for October, with at least one layer, some type embellishment. Can be with a sentiment or without.

I used a stamp set I remember purchasing at Junkie Fest in the summer of 2019 from the Unity pop-up booth.  It is called Bountiful Haul.  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.    I layered it on an embossed background from Stampin' Up's Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder that I die cut from Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2.    The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I added a few SU linen thread for the final touch.

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSOCT.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For November, Kari is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

Bushel of Blessings

=

Here we are!  This is month #10 of another challenge for our group of 4 stampers—Barb, Jeanette, Kelly, and Carol!  This was a thought that I had in the middle of the night, similar to what Kelly has had in the past.  Plus, it is a bit of offshoot of our Stamp What Challenge! This one is called Double Duty!

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For October,  the company that I picked was Taylored Expressions. They have some wonderful stamp sets, and many have coordinating dies.  For our challenge this month, I picked a a set called Bushel of Blessings and the matching Die Set.  The sentiments are also from a TE set called Hand Lettered Thanksgiving and that also has a matching die set!

For my first card, I stamped and colored the pumpkin image with Copic Sketch Markers.  I then die cut the image and layered it over an embossed background using Stampin' Up Pinewoods Plank Embossing folder.  I stamped and die cut the Thanksgiving Blessings Sentiment and layered it over a piece of Gooseberry Patch orange gingham cut from a Stampin' Up Stitched Rectangle die.  I added some linen thread behind the sentiment and some yellow enamel dots on the background.

For my second card, I stamped and colored the same pumpkin image.  This time the image is layered over a circle from Memory Box Wrapped Stitched Circles.  The background layer is the same Gooseberry Patch Orange Gingham. The Give Thanks sentiment is also from the Hand Lettered Thanksgiving stamp set.  The same linen thread was used and this time some green enamel dots complete the card.

I had a number of Double Duty elements on these cards.  I used the same pumpkin image and then two different sentiments from a second set.    I used the same colors of cardstock on both cards, along with the Gooseberry Patch gingham paper.  There are also die cuts used, linen thread and enamel dots.  Plus--the theme is Thanksgiving!

Here is the inside of my cards:

I hope you enjoyed my card for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's,  Kelly's  and Carol's blogs.    I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards! I hope Kelly, Jeanette and Carol like my card. Art Impressions is the company we will use in November so be sure to check back to see how we double up and make two cards on the 22nd!

One Day Late!

Today is not the third Wednesday of the month, but it is my Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card! For the second month in a row, I am late............  The 3 of us, Kelly, Jeanette and me, are back with another challenge for October, our 54th month!  That means we are into year #5 for us.

And--just a note about 2022.  We will not be continuing this challenge next year--we will be ending this as 5 1/2 years of cards!  There have been some great cards made over this time and some very fun challenges too!   This is the last challenge that Kelly will provide for us and it is a good one!

Kelly provided the challenge for us this month: My Santa Wishlist

Nope.  Not A Santa image with a wish list! YOUR wish list

Please create a card that shares with us something that you are dreaming of or longing for. Are you hoping for a vacation?  A new car? Some new stamp toys?  Peace and quiet?  Whatever reflects your heart’s desires, let your card reflect what you are wishing for.

Ready Set Go!

Yes- I do have a few items on my wish list. I just did buy a new car and pick up Bebe on Saturday.  So, that is checked off!  Vacation?  We have canceled our Ireland trip twice and the tentative plan is to go in May--hoping.........  New Stamp Toys?  I think I am set for awhile, but I am sure there will be something I need!  I decided that what I am really, really, really wishing for is a "normal"  Thanksgiving as we did not celebrate with our families in last year. We spend Thanksgiving day with my family in a Chicago suburb and then travel to Chicago on Friday for a celebration with Rebecca's family. None of that happened in 2021 and even though we have seen all of our family members during the summer at  various times, nothing compares to the Thanksgiving get togethers!   I love Thanksgiving--all of the food, the fun, the football and the blessings for the past and future!  Bring it on!

Back to my card--I picked 2 older, wood mounted Whipper Snapper stamps about Thanksgiving.  Neither have a name on them and I looked on the site and they are not there--so yes they are older.................  I colored the turkey with my Copic Sketch Markers and fussy cut him out.  I also colored in a couple of the letters of the sentiment.  The background paper is from Heritage Makers and is in the Thanksgiving package.  I added a few orange enamel dots for the final touch.

Please be sure to check out the other Ready, Set, Go cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card. I is up for the next theme, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd Wednesday in November.  Pressure is on as it will be my last theme for this challenge!

UIS #58!

This is my card for the 58th round of the UIS--Unidentified Image Swap on SCS.  Yes, the 58th round!  It is a group of ladies who are a part of a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The unidentified part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted.   The image for this round was provided by Janet!  She will swap the cards and include the next image that Darlene sent in our return envie. And then we get to do it all again--for round #59--in November!

Janet sent everyone this sweet House Mouse image called Everything's Coming Up Roses. I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut it with a Whimsy Stamps Zig Zag Rectangle. I layered the image over a Fancy Pants Simplicity-Forum Patterned Paper.  I added some gray enamel does for the final touch!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations--due date is today, the 18th--or they may post in the upcoming days. You can also check out SCS and use the keyword UIS58 to see some posted there.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

Snarky Cat

Today is the 15th and the day we post our card for our group, the Crafty Card Ladies!   The team names are the Pearls and the Diamonds--very Classy names for us!   For our October Challenge, Laura Jean is the hostess for the Diamonds--the team I am on and Darlene is the hostess for the Pearls.   And we are all team Classy Card Ladies!

The theme for October is humor or a snarky card! Laura Jean sent us this funny cat image from Tim Holtz called Snarky Cat.  She also include a number of sentiments, along with a pumpkin and witches hat!  Laura Jean included some fun Halloween patterned paper, some fall ribbons and embellishments.

I did not need to color the cat image, but I did color the pumpkin with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I then fussy cut and pumpkin and placed it over the layer cat image.  The background paper is from Stampin' Up.  I then added the orange, brown and white baker's twine along with the flagged sentiment  I added some of the orange stars to complete my card.  This was fun card to make!

Here is the inside of my card, on a layer of patterned paper, along with one of the snarky sentiments:

I hope all of the Classy Card Ladies enjoy my card this month. Please be sure to stop in to see what all of the Diamonds as well the Pearls have created this month.  There are two members who do not have blogs: Suzy who is on the Diamond team and Debby who is a Pearl. You will be able to check out their creations in their SCS gallery, if you click on the link for their name.  All of the others should be found on my left sidebar.  I am sure you will enjoy all of the wonderful creations this month!  See you next month in November when Carol and Shelly are the hostesses!

Hot Mess Halloween

Today is the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card.  This is card number 27 and we are well into year #3. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success started with Kelly and the general theme is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a group of 6 and we will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other 5 members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For this month's messiness, I made 30 of these cards!  Yes, messy times 30 and my craft desk and hands were proof of it.  These are the swap cards I made for Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy, which was held last weekend in Des Moines Iowa--an in person event!  I am writing this before the weekend, but I am so sure I had a great time and also came home with 30 wonderful swap cards for other attendees!  And, I am sure some new TE stamping toys and probably some fun swag too.  Maybe even a door prize--crossing my fingers for that one!

This background was made with a stamp and a stencil combo from Taylored Expressions called Happy Halloween.  First, I stamped the words with Pumpkin ink--it is a very large stamp that almost covers the entire card.  Then, I lined up the matching stencil and used Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel in Black over the top.  The gel sometimes gets under the stencil, so there were a few errant glitters on the front!  I then added a couple of glittery bats that I punched out from the TE Black Glitter cardstock layer.  I added a few TE Black Drip Drops for the final touch!   I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow swappers liked it too!

Here is the inside of my card, with a strip of the glitter cardstock and another bat:

Here are the links to the other members of Hot Mess ~ Success.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry'sKelly's , Carol's and Darlene's blogs. I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy and was successful in making some great cards!   We will all continuing this year, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on November12th.

In Stitches

This is my October card for the monthly themed swap that Terry is hosting on SCS. Each month she will post a theme and we make cards using any stamp set we believe follows that thought. This is our 65th month and the theme for October is "You Had Me in Stiches--Sewing, Stitched Dies. Puns"

I decided to go with stitching dies and a Christmas Card.  I stamped a sweet sentiment from my Gina K Designs Noel set. I die cut that along with a background layer from CottageCutz Single Stitched Oval dies.  The background is Stampin' Up's Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper. I added a flag of Crumb Cake 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon and some kraft enamel dots.  I think this is a fun card and a sweet Christmas Card.

Here is the inside of my card, with a strip of the patterned paper:

I hope Terry and the others swappers like my card this month too! Terry has already posted the November theme, along with all of the 2022 themes as we do not swap in December.  Be sure to come back in to see what we create!

This is the sweet set that Jeanette sent us--The Rabbit Hole Designs Boo Kitty:

I colored the Sweet kitty image with my Copic Sketch Markers. I did use a corner rounder for two corner for a bit of detail.  The background papers are from Echo Park Paper and the Happy Halloween line.  I also added some orange and brown bakers twine under the sentiment.  A few black sequins for the bling!  I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!
