Pine Tree...Holly Jolly

Today is the last day of October and I am posting a pair of cards for our challenge-The Catch-up Club!  A few of my stamping friends, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry along with myself, have signed up for a number of virtual stamping events in the past 3+ years.  One of the benefits of these events are that they are available to rewatch or even watch for the first time at a later date as they are all recorded. The 4 of us "try" to watch live and chat by texting during the event.  But, life steps in and there are times when one or more of us are not participating during the live.  Then, the kits from sponsors sits in our stamping area until we are ready to watch the video and create.  During one of the events, we decided we needed to push ourselves (and each other) to get some of these events done!   So--we all decided to devote one day a month, the last day of the month for the somewhat procrastinators that we are, to post cards we missed making.  So--here we are in our 8th month of The Catch Up Club!

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This month the creations are again from Sarah and The Paper Cut in Appleton, WIS!

These cards are from a class Sarah did last year or maybe even in 2021 called Pine Tree...Holly Jolly--Golds and Glitter.  I did the class live at that time, but I recently bought a parts and pieces kit from their warehouse sale.  All of the pieces were there to make 6 cards, but some of the sentiments were not stamped.  Luckily I had bought the Impression Obsession Holly Jolly stamp after the original class, so I could stamp the remainder of the cards.   The background stamp is also Impression Obsession, called Pixel Xmas Tree.  I used my Copic Sketch Markers to color the pine needles.  Sarah used Gold Stickles to color the berries-so I did too.  I rarely use Stickles, but they do add some shimmer to the card!

Sarah offers many different kinds of classes through the year and kits can be ordered from their website.  I have 3 other virtual classes from The Paper Cut that need to be completed.  Plus I had a virtual event from Pinkfresh Studio last month and another one is the first part of October.  I have many cards to complete coming up this winter--so stay tuned.    I am already way behind, so more Catch Up to Come!

I hope you enjoyed my cards!  Here are the links to the other of the Catch Up Club.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, and Darlene's blogs.  They may post today or tomorrow, but we have all promised to post cards that we have missed the making along the way!

Ghost Couple

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 82nd month of de-stash, so we are coming to the end of our 7th year of challenges.  I cannot believe my thought about using what we have is now 6+ years old!   I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Suzy posted our October challenge--Make a Halloween card with a moon as a part of the card.

I love Halloween cards and making them too!  I picked a very old stamp from  company no longer in business--Outline Rubber Stamp company.  It is called Ghost Couple and I think it is so cute!  I stamped the image and colored it with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I die cut the image and backer with my Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rectangle dies.  I then picked a fun sentiment from a Raisin Boat set called Canines in Costume--another company no longer in business. I used a pair of Taylored Expressions dies from the Modern Sentiment Labels--the backer die is from the new set that I got at Stamp Joy that is not released it.  The background is a Tim Holtz Brickwork 3D Textured Fade Embossing Folder in Basic Gray.  I added a few orange bling dots for a bit of sparkle!

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSOCT.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For November, Vicki is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

Thank You So Much

Here we are--this is the Double Duty Day!  This is the 34th month, so we are getting to the end of year #3

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For October, the company we picked was Lawn Fawn. They really make some fun and cute stamps and dies.  Plus fun stencils and inks and many, many other crafty items.  I picked the sweet sentiment set called Magic Messages. The set has a number of cute sentiments, along with a few additional small images.  It also includes a matching circle die to cut out the image.   I also have two die sets that can be used as frames with the circle image.  I picked Stitched Sun Frame die.

I picked the colors of cardstock and then colored the floral parts of the image to coordinate.  I die each of the thank you sentiments with the circle that comes with the stamp set.  For both cards, I used an embossing folder and the matching die.   I added ribbon to each of the cards and some enamel dots or sequins for the final touches.

For the card on the left, I used an Altenew Crystal Wall 3-D Embossing Folder. The colors are fall related--Crushed Curry and Early Espresso.  The frame looks like a sunflower!  I added some yellow enamel dots and used Crinkled Seam binding for the ribbon.

For the card on the right, I picked a Spellbinders Circle Illusion Embossing Folder. This time to colors are regal--Gold, Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow.  I added some gold sequins and Wine Organdy Ribbon

Again, both cards use a 3D embossed folder and the same Lawn Fawn Die set for the frames.  I colored both images with my Copic Sketch Markers and used the matching circle die to cut it out.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards. Here is a link to Jeanette'sDarlene’s  and  Carol's blogs.   I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards.

Next month we are using Altenew--should be some cute cards.  So be sure to check out our cards on November 22nd!

Sweet Hedgie!

This is my card for a swap called the SIS--Surprise Image Swap.   This is card #11 for our group.  It is a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The surprise part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--the 18th of every other month.   The image for this round was provided by Janet.  She will swap the cards and include the new image for round #12 that Terry stamps in everyone's return envie. Then--we do it all again in December!

Janet sent everyone this sweet image from the Penny Black Sweet You set.  She included a sentiment, but I decided to leave the card blank so it could be used for any occasion. I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers. I die cut the image and backer with my Stampin' Up Circle Dies. I picked a sweet 6x6 Craft Paper called Patena. The scalloped layer behind the image and the strip is from The Paper Cut called STardream Bronze.  I added a piece of Bermuda Bay that was die cut with a border die from The Paper Cut over the metallic strip. Then, I piece of Bermuda Bay ribbon over the top.  I added some teal enamel dots for the final touch.

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations.  The due date is today, the 18th, or they may post in the upcoming days. You can also check out SCS and use the keyword SIS11 to see some posted there.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

Autumn Wheelbarrow

Today is the 15th and this is my card for our The Creative Crew!  We are a group of 7 and all one team--Jeanette, Carol, Darlene, Lorraine, Terry, Tracie and me. Each month will be a new challenge posed by one of the members sending out a kit.  This month is the start of the second round for our group.  Jeanette gave us a challenge this month to use our own supplies to create something you (I) love.  It might be a favorite stamp company, a favorite color scheme or embellishment, spending time in nature, grandchildren, etc.  I decided to go with my favorite time of year--Fall!

I love all of the colors of fall and I like the crisp fall air.  It also means that Thanksgiving is on the way and that is my favorite family holiday!  I also enjoy taking walks and hikes in the fall with the leaves under my feet and many times, falling all around when hiking.  I also like exchanging my polo shirts in the main closet with the pullovers from the spare bedroom closet--and even putting my birks away and pulling out my fuzzy slippers!

I picked a sweet image from Great Impressions, but it does not have a name on it.  The old wooden wheelbarrow filled with pumpkins and leaves all around is such a quintessential autumn image! I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut with with a Spellbinders Label 8 die set.  I found some patterned paper with some sweet autumn words and layered with fall colors.  I added some twine behind the die cut image and a few orange enamel dots around the image. This was fun card to make!

I hope all of The Creative Crew Gals enjoy my card this month.  Please be sure to stop in to see what fun crafty cards are posted this month.  All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate Lorraine does not have a blog, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the wonderful creations this month!

We will be back in November with the image Lorraine will be sending out.  Be sure to check in with us on the 15th to see what fun she has planned!

Noel

Today is the 9th and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the Spellbinders House Mouse Noel image and sentiments that I sent out for our October card, #110! That means we into year number 10 with this fun challenge! 10 YEARS--WOW!!!!! All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a long time!

I saw the sweet image a month or so ago at the Expo in Illinois and just loved it! I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  Since this is such a large image, I used my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 die to cut the image and backer. I used a Cherry Cobbler card base.  I also used the stitched sentiment banner from the same set to cut out the phrase that comes in the set.  I did not add any bling to my card this time!  I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  Jeanette is up for our November challenge.   Please be sure to join us again.

Using up UFO's

This is my October Crafters of Faith card.  This is a sweet group on SCS that Faye hosts.  I am the hostess this month and gave everyone this challenge:

Scripture:  Isaiah 40:31 "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Challenge:  Please make a card that highlights anything with wings--you decide what you want to showcase.

I  first picked a pretty Gina K Designs stamp set called Beautiful Butterflies--and I have the coordinating dies! There are some very pretty images and coordinating sentiments.  I then went to my basket of UFO's--backgrounds and such that I previously made.  I found two watercolored panels that I thought would make pretty butterflies. I stamped three of the images on each panel and then cut them out with the matching dies.  I also had 2 black lattice frames in the basket, so I die cut 2 more from my Ellentina Large Lattice frame.  I glued them together for a bit of dimension on the front of my card. One card base is SU's Pumpkin Pie and the other is TPC's Cocktail Metallic.  The stamped and die cut sentiment is from the same stamp set.  The So Very Grateful is also a Gina K sentiment, from one of her pre-printed packs.  I added some black enamel dots around each of the cards.

I hope you and the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month! We are to post on the 7th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too!  Lisa has our November challenge, so be sure to check back!

One Plus Twelve

This is my 10th One Plus Twelve card for 2023--this is year number 5.   For this challenge, we are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month and post on the 3rd of each month.  For 2023, I picked a Taylored Expressions stamp and die set called Graceful Ferns.  I think this set is so versatile and I picked the largest fern image to use each month.  There is a With Sympathy sentiment and coordinating die in the same set, so that is what I used this month.

For my card this month, I decided to go monochromatic again with Crumb Cake. I heat embossed the leaf with Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder and then die cut it out. I also embossed the sentiment with the same Brass EP and used the matching die.   I die cut the coordinating leaf frond from Crumb Cake.  I die cut a Taylored Expressions Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 and added some foam tape behind it.  The embossed panel is a Taylored Expressions Dots of Diamonds folder.  I added some brass colored dots around the leaves.

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards to see what they picked for their stamp of the year for this challenge in 2023.  Here is a link to both Jeanette's  and Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will enjoy checking out each of our cards using the same stamp for 2023. I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card and that you might too! Be sure to come back on Novembr 3rd to see our cards for the next month!
