Hero Arts Stamp-Along

Today is the last day of July and I am posting a set of cards for our challenge-The Catch-up Club!  A few of my stamping friends, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry along with myself, have signed up for a number of virtual stamping events in the past 3+ years.  One of the benefits of these events are that they are available to rewatch or even watch for the first time at a later date as they are all recorded. The 4 of us "try" to watch live and chat by texting during the event.  But, life steps in and there are times when one or more of us are not participating during the live.  Then, the kits from sponsors sits in our stamping area until we are ready to watch the video and create.  During one of the events, we decided we needed to push ourselves (and each other) to get some of these events done!   So--we all decided to devote one day a month, the last day of the month for the somewhat procrastinators that we are, to post cards we missed making.  So--here we are in our 15th month of The Catch Up Club!

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This month the creations are from Hero Arts Stamp-Along, held earlier this month.  These cards are from class from Laura Bassen and Channin Pelletier's classes.

The three rainbow Celebrate cards were Laura's creations.  The front one with a pink background was the one I made in her class. I did add an extra layer of silver behind the stenciled panel.  The other two cards, along with one I already gave away, were my take on the cards, using a different stencil, background colors and silver paste.

The floral card was from Channin's class and there are some fun layers on the background.  I really liked the colors she picked for the background and coordinating with the cardstock strips.  I added some glittery enamel dots in the middle of the floral centers.

I hope you enjoyed my cards!  Here are the links to the other of the Catch Up Club.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, and Darlene's blogs.  They may post today or tomorrow, but we have all promised to post cards that we have missed the making along the way!  And, there are more pouches of virtual events stacked in my stamp room and another event coming in August.  So--I will be sure to have more Catch-up-Club cards to come!!!!

Christmas Wishes

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 91st month of de-stash, so we are into our 8th year of challenges.  I cannot believe my thought about using what we have is now 8+ years old!   I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Maggie posted our July challenge--Use an image with a fairy or something that flies!

I went with an older Gina K Designs set to do a Christmas in July card.  The name of the set is Christmas Magic and there is also a set of coordinating dies.   I love this sweet fairy image! I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and then cut the image the matching die.  I stamped one of the sentiments and die cut with a Pinkfresh Studio Fancy Label Frame. I layered the image on two oval die cuts from Gina Marie Designs called Loopy Ovals. I added some Frosted Lace Stickles on the star and the brim of her hat.  The sweet background paper is from a 6x6 paper pack from 24 and Market called Sky Mini Collection.  I love the soft colors.  I added some glittery gems around the oval die.   I now have another Christmas Card to add to my stash!

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSJUL.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For August, Suzy is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

Frosty's Flakes

Here we are--this is the Double Duty Day!  This is the 43rd month, so we are in our 4th year!  WOW--4 years of making two cards with the same stamp from different companies each month!

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For July, we are doing something a bit different.  It was decided to pick one Christmas stamp from any company and create a Christmas in July card.  I decided to go with one of my favorite Penny Black stamp sets called Frosty's Flakes.  I love this snowman image!

For both cards, I colored the images with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I also added some Stickles on his hat where the snow has landed.  It has been a long time since I broke out some stickles!  I also added a sentiment from one of my many sentiment strips for a fun cards.

For this red card, I picked a Gina Marie Designs Die called Peekaboo Rectangles to frame the image.   I then added some Taylored Expressions Clay Snowflakes around the image.

For the teal card, I went with a MFT Stitched Rectangle Frame along with a layer of Coastal Cabana.  I added a string of snowflakes and I believe they were from a Stampin' Up die as they were already in my stash.  I added some shiny bling inside each of the snowflakes.

I like the sparkle and shine in each of the cards.  I picked a frame to showcase the fun image.   I added stickles to each of the card along with some additional snowflakes!

I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards. Here is a link to Jeanette'sDarlene’s  and  Carol's blogs.   I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards.

Next month we will highlight The Stamp Market.   So be sure to check out our cards on August 22nd!

Get Out of the Doghouse

Today is the 15th and this is my card this month for our The Creative Crew!  We are a group of 7 and all one team--Jeanette, Carol, Darlene, Lorraine, Terry, Tracie and me. Each month will be a new challenge posed by one of the members sending out a kit. This month, Jeanette came up with a challenge for July as we are now into round two and this is our 1st month. This is what she posed to us:  July 15th is National Get Out of the Doghouse Day so in celebration, we will make cards with any pet and/or a doghouse on them.

I knew exactly what stamps I was going to use as soon as this challenge was presented.  I used two older wood mounted stamps that just make me smile.  The dog is from Whipper Snapper Designs and the sentiment is from Rubber Cottage.  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I die cut the image and the Bronze Metallic backer with a Gina Marie designs set called Stitched Rounded Squares.  The sentiment and backer was die cut with Taylored Expressions Modern Labels Sentiments die set.  The background is a cute patterned paper from Bella Blvd called Tail Waggers and Cat Naps.   There was a bit of a blank space so I added two white bone brads--first time I have used brads in a very long time.......... This was a very fun card to make!  Thanks for a fun challenge Jeanette!

I hope all of The Creative Crew Gals enjoy my card this month.  Please be sure to stop in to see what fun crafty cards are posted this month.  All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate Lorraine does not have a blog, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the fun dog or other animal creations this month!

We will be back in August with another challenge that Jeanette will again be creating!  Be sure to check in with us on the 15th to see what fun is planned!

New Technique

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. These two cards are #61, so this is now the start of year #7. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a very fun group and will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

A few months ago, I saw a technique online and put a sentence or two on a Post-a-Note that has been sitting on my desk.  For this month's messiness, I decided to try it!  I made two panels with Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks on Yupo paper.  I added some silver alloy to one of the panels.  I then ran both panels through my Big Shot with a Stampin' Up Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I then used a sanding block and gently sanded the color from the dots and they now are white!   I picked the Taylored Expressions Framed Script Thanks along with Impression Obsessions Script Cheers for the dies on the front.  I used the same color of cardstock as the panel behind the inky layer for each card. There are some Gina K Designs Dazzling Diamond Rhinestones on both cards.

I really like the look of these two cards and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like it  too!  Here are the links to the other somewhat messy crafters:   Carol, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry.   I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to in August as we will all be back for another round!

I Am In Your Corner

Today is the 9th and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. This round, Jeanette is the hostess and sent out the cute image from Gerda Steiner Designs called In Your Corner.  She also included a number of sentiments from the same set.  So for July, this is card #119 and we are actually coming to the end of year number 10!  I cannot believe this trio has been going strong for 10 plus years and looking to go to 11!

I colored the cute mouse image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  The stamped image was a bit larger and I die cut the "corner" and backer with a set of Gina Marie Designs Stitched Circle Dies.  I then die cut a white panel and another black backer with a set of MFT Stitched Tag Corner Rectangle dies.  I then embossed the white later with an Altenew Textured Hexagon folder.   The sentiment was cut with a Taylored Expressions Modern Label Dies and layered in black. I did not add any bling to this card. I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  Kelly is up for our August challenge.  That will be out 120th monthly challenge, the anniversary of the end of our 10th Year!!!!!! Please be sure to join us again.

Let's Celebrate

Today is the day I am posting my card for our One Plus Twelve challenge in 2024.  This is year number 6.   For this challenge, we are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month and post on the 3rd of each month.  For this year, I picked a Pinkfresh Studio set called Thankful for Friends.  The set includes the stamp set, matching die, coordinating stencils and a hot foil plate!   I think this set is so pretty and I will have many options each month.

For my card this month, I first hot foiled the image in bronze foil. I then used the 4 piece stencil and Pinkfresh Studio inks to ink blend the image.  I then die cut the floral cluster with the matching die.  I picked a Pinkfresh Studio plate called Dotted Scallops for the background.  I then die cut a frame using the Pinkfresh Studio Notched Corner frames from Coastal Cabana cardstock to coordinated with the leaves. I added foam tape under the frame.   The card base is also Coastal Cabana  I placed the die cut floral image, also with some foam on the back and used a sentiment from one of my PFS sentiment packs.   I added some Pinkfresh metallic gold pearls around the image.

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards to see the the cards that Kelly and Jeanette have created for July!  Here is a link to both Jeanette's  and Kelly's blog.  Be sure to come back on August 3rd to see our next set of cards.
