Congratulations on Your Birthday!

Nichole is hosting a swap on SCS for birthday cards for men and boys.  I enjoy making birthday cards, so I took a spot in each.   This is for the men category.  A bit of a confession here........  I made the card thinking the swap was for cards for men or boys--and not birthday specific.  I used the Congratulations sentiment on the front of the card and then when I checked the details, I realized this did not fit what she posted.  So--I went to my birthday drawer as I knew I had this Whipper Snapper sentiment, and I think it works!  What do you think?

Here is the inside of my card that saved me from making 6 other cards!

Farmer Boy

I am back again with another card for the Melonheadz Challenge.

http://melonheadzfriends.blogspot.com/

The theme for this challenge is For the Boys!

It runs from February 17th to March 2nd

I thought this guy was too cute--a miniature farmer with the piece of hay in his mouth!  And, the grasshopper was a perfect addition to the card.

Here is the inside of my card.  I think the paper is almost an exact match to the farmers overalls!

Feel The Love

It is the 15thof the month and that means we get to show off another Dueling Darlings challenge. Debbie and I are the Darlings who came up with the challenge and theme for the teams this month-I am a Diva and Debbie is one of the Dazzlers.

Debbie and I started emailing back and forth on thoughts and ideas for our kits way back in September or October last year.  Debbie provided the image for both teams--so you will see the same sentiment on all of the cards.  We decided on the theme "Feel the Love", since we are posting the day after the Love Day--Valentine's Day.  We then did a bit of conspiring...... and I am sure that does not surprise anyone.......... We are honoring our founding Mother's, I mean Darlings--Kelly and Jeanette.  Now, of course, they do not know this twist.

These are the details that I sent to the DivasHere is the deal—this month we are honoring each of our founders, Jeanette and Kelly.  (They are getting a different set of details, without this part).  So—please use the theme Feel the Love to show your love to your leader or to both of them if you wish.  You can tell of some of the things you “love” about them or point out some of the things you know they love—books, family, God, coloring, etc.  Add your own details if you wish.
I think it is quite amazing how similar these two awesome ladies are.  They do both love to read, place their family in high regard, love to laugh and joke around (well, maybe one more than the other...............)  They do love to color their images and love layers on their cards.  And, finally, I truly believe both of these women strive at all times to follow Galatians 5, verses 22-23--
The fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control.

With all of those thoughts, I created a card that I feel is so fitting to these two women I am proud to call a friend!  And, I do promise that I will meet Kelly in real life sometime soon.  I used Labels 7 as I die cut for the image to emphasize the outline of a book--you can decide which book is highlighted. I also used a card I received from Kelly a year or so ago as a guide for the layout--love the layers!

Here is the inside of my card as this too is a tip I gleaned from both Jeanette and Kelly--decorate the inside too!

I do hope that Kelly and Jeanette Feel the Love in this card.  So, on this post- Valentine's Day, I along with my counter-part Debbie as well as all of the Darlings, wish them both a wonderfully, sweet day!

Unidentified Image Swap Revealed

This is the card for the 11th round an Unidentified Image swap on SCS.  It is a group of ladies who are a part of a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The unidentified part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--that was Tuesday!   The images for this round were provided Jody.    She will swap the cards and include the next image that Darlene, our next hostess, provides in our return envie.  And then we get to do it all again!!!!

The image the Jody picked out is pretty cute and  simple.  Snoopy is Black and White, so there was no coloring there.  However, he is hugging Woodstock, and that is the pop of yellow.  So, I went with the black, white and yellow color theme.

Jody did not send us the sentiments that came with the stamp set and challenged us to use one that fits the image.  I went with "Happiness" as that is what a good friend is!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations today or in the next few days.

Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Carriers of Faith Blog Hop

I am back with the second Carriers of Faith blog hop!  It is my turn to come up with the theme and an inspiring verse for this month.  So--here we go:

February Challenge Colossians 3:23 --Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.
The Living Bible version--Work hard and cheerfully at all you do, just as though you were working for the Lord and not merely for your masters
I think we all work hard at many things in life--so I want to challenge you to think of what you might work hard at, but cheerfully. You can take this a few ways:

~Perhaps--you can take a picture of what you would do as a career, if you could "be anything you want to be" when "you grow up". The sky is the limit--no restrictions at all. What is a job you would love to have?

~Or--look around and see what you love to do in life. It could be cooking, or crafting, or gardening, or reading, or whatever....... What do you do that always puts a smile on your face or gets you in a good mood?

~Maybe--you have a different thought of what this passages says to you. Please feel free to share.

Tell us how this verse rings true to you.

If you are joining us in the blog hop, you should have arrived here from Kelly's blog.  At the end of this post is a list of all of the blogs--after me, you should check out Zella's post.

So--here are some pictures of things that I love from my time as a teacher and coach.  I was at Waterford High School for 30 years and I truly did love my job/career choice!  I was in the classroom for all 30 years and I also was the head volleyball coach for 16 years.  I was the Athletic Director for the last 17 years and attended many hundreds of sporting events.

The pictures are of some of the items that were in my office at school and they showcase the career I loved!  Now, they sit on shelves in our family room and still put a smile on my face and bring me joy.

Now, there are other choices of things that I love that also could be posted here.  I could highlight the greenhouse we built a couple of years ago to be able to grow our flower and vegetable seeds as we love to garden.  Or, I could photograph my stamp room as I really love to spend time there.   And, I am sure there are many other pictures that put a smile on my face and keep me in a good mood.  But--I chose my career as I keep that at the top of my list.

Here are the other members of the COF-Carriers of Faith-and the links to their blog.   Please join us and see what we work hard at.

I am up first--Barb

I am sure you will see some pictures that showcase the Carriers of Faith and what they Love to do!   I hope you enjoy the hop this month.
