Say Cheese!

This is the card for the 43rd round of the Unidentified Image swap on SCS.  It is a group of ladies who are a part of a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The unidentified part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--today!   The image for this round was provided by Lela .  She will swap the cards and include the next image that Heather, our next hostess in their return envie.  And then we get to do it all again--for round #44--in June! 

Lela sent us this cute image from Taylored Expressions.  I think this is a great image for summer vacations!

Ready? Set? Go!

Today is the third Wednesday of the month and that means a Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card! The 3 Musketeers--Kelly, Jeanette and me--are back with another challenge for April-our 23rd month!  We are now coming to the end year #2!

Jeanette provided the challenge for April: While we don't post our cards until April 17th (the third Wednesday of the month) one of the fun features of April is April Fool's day, the day when tricks are played and one never knows quite what to expect. I personally could tell you a prank or two that I played through the years, but we'll save that for another day.

In keeping with the idea of pranks and the unexpected I want you to use two things on your card: the UGLIEST piece of designer paper that you can find in your stash (We have them, right? And we never expected to be asked to use those ugly papers!) and one of the stamps in your collection that has not yet seen ink, at least not by you. It's okay if it's a used stamp you purchased but have not yet used.  Oh--and please post a picture of the patterned paper before cutting it apart!

Ready? Set? Go!

Oh My--this was/is going to be quite the challenge--for sure!  I hope I do not offend anyone, but Asian patterned paper is not a favorite of mine.  And, I do not even know where I got this paper and it is a full sheet!

I inked up a Rubbernecker Stamp that I have had for many years.  It has probably more than 10 years as I got it when I was a demo for Dave, when he had a booth at a stamp show that used to be held in Waukesha and then South Milwaukee.  It is no longer around, but I really enjoyed doing the demos with their fun stamps.  I think this sentiment matches an image of a cat in a dryer!  I used gold embossing powder to match the gold in the patterned paper.

I am sure you are going to see some interesting cards this month!

Joyful Bouquet

Today is the 14th week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. April is making a CAS--Clean and Simple, card.  Every Tuesday, I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge. I am half way through the month of CAS cards and think I have done okay.  Plus, I really like this weeks card!

This card is an easy CAS card, using a pretty die from Memory Box called Joyful Bouquet.  I have seen a few cards in the past week similar to this, using a die cut over some patterned paper.  I knew that I wanted to use my Falling in Love Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up as I love the soft look and watercolor pattern.  I think this card turned out pretty well and it meets the CAS challenge!

Out of This World!

It is the 15^th of the month and that means I am showing you a new Dueling Darlings card.  For our April Challenge, Terry S. and Laura Jean are the hostesses! They decided on the theme-Out of This World! Terry is one of the Dazzlers and Laura Jean is a Diva, like me, and we are all Dueling Darlings!  And, we have been doing this since August of 2010--a long time!

LJ sent us some cute outer space images from October Afternoon.  She also sent us some great patterned paper along with some fun embellishments.  I layered all three of the bright, primary colored ribbon on top of each other--that has been something I have done a few times in the past with our DDD kits.  It is great to show off the fun ribbons that I received!  This was fun card to make.

It's Spring ~ Let's Party

This is my card for a swap at my LSS called Polka Dots. The theme for this round is Spring! I dug out an older Unity stamp for the image and added a sweet Inky Antics sentiment to complete the card. Robin Williams was right--Let's Party!  I also found some great spring gardening patterned paper for the background.

Friday's With The Project Bin

It is Friday, so  that means that I am back with another card for The Project Bin Stamps--A Way With Words!  Every Friday,  I post a card made from one of their great photopolymer stamp sets.  So, please plan to come back each week to see what I have created--I think you too will love these great sentiment stamp sets.  And, remember, some of the sets come with matching steel dies! I used a fun set called Just Poppin'.  I love popcorn and I think I make it at least 2 times a week--for sure every Wednesday night as I watch Survivor!  This set comes with 7 great stamps along with 4 dies--how great is that!  It is very easy to make a fun card with this awesome set!

Color Challenge

This card is for a challenge that my friend and demo Sarah gave all of her hostess club members--it is called The Rewards Club and the get together each month is Take Three!  She recently revamped her blog and added a Rewards Club VIP area where we can log in.  Sarah will post her videos for our cards along with some periodic challenges.  The first one is to use last month's color combination--Lemon Lime Twist, Gorgeous Grape and Tranquil Tide.  I used one of my new favorite stamp sets--Hold on to Hope and the coordinating die set-Cross of Hope.  I love the die cut cross in this set!  I also used two embossing folders for the background.  I first used the Subtle Dynamic Folder for a bit of texture and then ran the Lemon-Lime twist cardstock through again with an older Stampin' Up folder called Framed Tulips.  I think this could be used as a Easter card.

Peace and Comfort

It is the 10th of the month and that means it is time for my card for the monthly themed swap that Terry is hosting on SCS.  Each month she will post a theme and we make cards using any stamp set we believe follows that thought. This is our 39th month and the theme for April is "Sympathy".  I went with some spring colors for a flowery card.  I used an older package of Stampin' Up paper for the background called Irresistibly Yours.  It is a sweet embossed white on white glossy cardstock so I used my daubers and inked two colors on the flowers.  I am sure there will be some wonderful cards this month.

This card is a sweet CAS card, using a pretty Lily of the Valley stamp set that I have had for a few years.  I love these flowers as they remind me of my mom and growing up on the farm as they were all around.  I have some plants around my house that came from her and they are just starting to pop up this spring.  I think it turned out pretty well and it meets the CAS challenge!
