It is the 15th of the month and that means we get to show off a new Dueling Darlings challenge. For the September Challenge, Tracie and I decided on the theme. Yes, I am one of the hostesses this month! Tracie is one of the Darlings and I am a part of the Diva team!
This theme this month is: "Owls and Halloween". Tracie and I have a couple of themes that we considered, but we both like owls and decided to put it along with a Halloween themed card!
I sent my team a Peachy Keen image from a stamp set I have had for a number of years, but have not used. It s so cute, so I thought it was about time! I also sent a number of ribbons, orange and black brads and a few pieces of the Night Owl Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up, along with a sheet of a cute Around the Block-Color Me Halloween, which I used as the background on my card.
Tracie and I also asked our team to share one of their favorite Halloween Memories. I remember when I was young that I talked my parents into taking me to trick or treat in two of our local towns. We lived on a farm in the country, so no place close to go. There is a very small town--maybe 2 blocks square--a mile away and I felt there were not enough house. So, I convinced my parents to take me to the town where I went to school, grades 1-4, which was 7 miles away. That town was also small, but about four times larger, so a bit more candy was to be had!
Here is the inside of my card:
I hope all of the Darlings enjoy my card.

Barb, your card is spooky cute! Love that owl!
ReplyDeleteTee Hee... you smooth talker with all the candy. I'm loving your memory (in fact, at your older-than-dirt age... I'm thinking just being able to remember is a good thing.) ;)
Thank you, for the kit. I really like how you created the interior of your card. The layout is perfect. Nice job on the dual town candy haul. Truth be told, your parents probably wanted some of the candy too!
ReplyDeleteWow Barb, first off great kit. Second I love your card. The layout is wonderful and the inside is just as beautiful. Well done my friend well done... "mwahhhh"
