2019~~A Card a Week Challenge

Happy New Year's Day! Welcome to 2019!

Today is the first day of my challenge for 2019--I am calling it "A Card a Week". I set a goal to do a card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month.  If you saw my post yesterday, you read my challenge themes for each month--January is Fancy Folds!  Each Tuesday, I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge.

Today is a gate fold card--one of my favorite fancy folds to make.  It is not that hard to do and I think it is a nice way to highlight a fun image or cute sentiment.  Today, I went with a sentiment that is perfect for New Year's Day!  I used some shiny metallic striped paper that I got last summer.  It was a pack of Cricut Papers that was on clearance and has various patterns of reds.

Here is the card opened a bit:

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope you will stop back each Tuesday to see my creation for my A Card a Week Challenge!  January will be all about Fancy Folds!

Image/Sentiment:  Penny Black-Festive Cheer

Cardstock: Recollections 110# White, Stampin' Up Real Red; Cricut Foil Embossed Red/White Patterned Paper Pack

Ink: Stampin' Up Real Red

Accessories:  Shiny White Enamel Dots

  2. This looks like fun, Barb! I may have to jump in.. just not this week. LOL Life is already crazy and we're barely 12 hours in to the new year. How does this happen?

Love the shiny strips on the paper you chose. So happy and makes me think of peppemint sticks!
