Today is the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. This is card number 24 and we are at the end of year #2. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success started with Kelly and the general theme is to Get Messy and you will have Success! Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy. We are a group of 6 and we will post a card each month on the 12th. The links to the other 5 members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.
For this month's messiness, I made two backgrounds with Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks. The orange one is on Yupo paper and the purple/green is on Tim Holtz silver alcohol ink cardstock. I love the sparkle on that one! I then used my MFT Die-namics Bold Beautiful die and layered it three times. The top layer is from a shimmer white cardstock. I added a sentiment to each from the Simon Says Stamps sentiment strips. I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.
Here are the links to the other members of Hot Mess ~ Success. Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, Kelly's , Carol's and Darlene's blogs. I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy and was successful in making some great cards! We will all continuing this year, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on August 12th.

Fabulous cards Barb, and what fun you must have had creating the backgrounds - they are stunning, and the die cut is all you need over them

Ohhh the early bird gets the worm! Unless my days are off (which is absolutely normal, LOL!) LOVE this! What a great idea to use the bold beautiful with the vibrant backgrounds! One of my favorite techniques! Now, what is this glimmer paper .... off to peek! Awesome cards, my friend! <3
ReplyDeleteBarb, this looks fabulous! Love the fun die you used (I actually own that die and can never seem to figure out what to do with it, so maybe you've inspired me to try again). You are such an inspiration, that's for sure - and yes, as Kelly says, the early bird gets the worm.
ReplyDeleteWow Barb, I love both of these cards. They both bring a different style of their own even though they are very similar. They are awesome. Love your technique.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THEM!!! I've not tried the TH Silver card stock yet, but did buy some when I bought Yuppo. After seeing your gorgeous cards, maybe I'll be brave enough to try. Such meticulous work layering multiple die cuts together. Finishing them off with the shimmer white is a perfect touch!
