Here we are--this is the Double Duty Day! This is the 23rd month, so we are in the toward to end year #2.
Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set. Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way! But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something. Double Duty Again! We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month. See-Double Duty again! We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company. Let’s have fun!
For November, the company we are using is Northwoods Rubber Stamps. This is a fun company with great wood-mounted stamps--yes, they still make wood-mounted stamps! I love their winter and Christmas stamps the most--they are so pretty. They have unique images and some beautiful wintery scenes. But, this time I picked a pair of sentiment stamps to make some Christmas cards!
There are no names on the stamps, but there is a year-2006! I then picked a fun package of Stampin' Up 6x6 Specialty Designer Series Paper called Wrapped in Plaid. I used the colors of the sweet plaid paper, Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce to ink up the the stamps with the sweet sentiments. I added a layer of Gold Mirricard from the Paper Cut for one of the layers. I did not add any embellishments as I wanted flat cards for mailing these cards this year!
I might have gone overboard this month by making 6 cards, but I was on a roll!
I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group. Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards. Here is a link to Jeanette's, Darlene’s and Carol's blogs. I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards.
Taylored Expressions is the company that is up for our December challenge, so be sure to check out our cards on the 22nd!
