Today is the 22nd so this is the Double Duty Day! This is the 47th month, so we are almost at the end our 4th year! We will be continuing in 2025 and will have a new member, so be sure to check us out!
Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set. Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way! But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something. Double Duty Again! We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month. See-Double Duty again! We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company. Let’s have fun!
For November, the company we decided on is Concord & 9th. This is a fun company, with beautiful images and sentiments. I also have participated in a couple of their virtual "Camp" classes and have one coming up in February. For this month, I picked a sweet sentiment image called O Holy Night. The stamp set includes matching dies for some of the small images and the large sentiment.
Instead of double duty this month, I have a Quintuple Duty set of cards. I decided since I was heat embossing the sentiment, I should make a few additional with different colors of cardstock! I stamped all of the panels with Versamark and embossed with Brutus Monroe Gilded embossing powder. I then decided to die cut a couple of the panels while trimming the rest to layer on a gold panel. For a couple I used my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 to cut the panel and backer. I added a gold star die cut from a Tim Holtz set called Swirling Stars. It does not show up well on the gold panels. There are other small stamps and dies in the set, but I did not add any, nor any bling, as I wanted the embossed sentiment to "shine"!
I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group. Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards. Here is a link to Jeanette's, Darlene’s and Carol's blogs. I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards. And, be sure to look back in their blogs as I am a day late.
Next month we will highlight another favorite of all of us, Brass & Bliss, formerly Rubbernecker Stamps. So be sure to check out our cards on December 22nd!
