Crafty Girls Honor Sassy

It is the 5th of the month, so I am back with another challenge of the Crafty Gals! We are a group of bloggers who have monthly challenges, caring comments & fun chit chat on SCS—our favorite stamping site to visit.

This year our challenges are going to be a bit different. Each month, Melina will chose one of our group to highlight and our challenge is to CASE a card from her blog—or make a card that highlights some of her loves. This month the person to CASE is Sassy!  Here is a link to her blog.

This is what Melina posted about Sassy:  We are showing love to Sassy this month! Sassy (Joan) is our GAL for August! She loves bright colors, flowers and ribbon. She makes the prettiest altered items. I mean have you seen what she did with that rock! Hello!!!! AWESOME! I have also seen some beautiful journals on her blog. So, there are many, many, many things to inspire you for August. Go look through her blog and get inspired!!!!!

I hope Sassy likes my card and that she feels it reflects who she is.  I colored up a new to me D. Morgan stamp that I got at a recent rummage sale.  I love irises and I hope Sassy does too!  And-I hope the rest of the Crafty Girls also like me card this month!

Crafters of Faith ~ Show me Water!

Today is the last day of the month and I am here to welcome you to my Crafters of Faith card! The Crafters of Faith blogging group is a joyous blending of Christian friends ~ joined together to fellowship, share our faith, build friendships and craft together!

Kelly is our hostess for this month--and she gave us a wonderful challenge:

Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." ~ John 7:38

Hi Faith sisters! This month’s Crafter’s of Faith challenge theme is inspired this verse and your theme is: Water ! It’s summer and many of us are enjoying the splendors of the outdoors – boating, swimming, walking along the lakes and rivers. Summer rains, as heavy and burdening as they can sometimes be, bring us new growth all around ~ trees, green grass and gorgeous flowers blooming. Even spiritually, many people accept Jesus into their hearts and become baptized in water and have beach baptisms. Water is a beautiful, healing, essential! This month, I want you to use WATER as your theme on your cards: Be as creative as you like - think boats, oceans, the beach, tilted watering cans, bird baths, falling rain, etc. ! Let water be the focus of your card and extra brownie points for using the color BLUE !! Blessings!

I used one of my cute Whipper Snapper stamps and even though there is no water in the image--you do know that water is close by!  I think this card is a great summer card--so bright and colorful!

I also thought this would be a perfect Retirement card--so that is the inside sentiment:

Calendar Girls ~ Cute and Cuddly

It is the 28th of the month, so I am here to welcome you to another round with the Calendar Girls!

Who are the Calendar Girls? We are a group of bloggers who want to have a place where friendships blossom, creativity abounds, and encouragement prevails! In keeping with that dream, this blog group has been created so we will have a place to interact and enjoy being fellow bloggers.  Linda
is our hostess this month and this is what she wrote for us to follow:

I would like it to be "Cute and Cuddly". The cuddly being a huggable moose, or a raccoon, or a bear, etc. I really enjoy the Riley stamps and Penny Black hedgehogs, but I'm asking you to pick your favorite furry creature stamp and make a card with any sentiment. I happen to be a hoarder of cute stamps, maybe because my kids share in my stamping addiction. It's always fun to see those little critters come to life on a card.

Can't wait to see what you come up with--Linda!

I used two of my favorite Penny Black stamps for this challenge.  I think this chubby little guy sure counts as cute and cuddly--and the inside sentiment says it all:

The Earth Laughs in Flowers

There is my third card for Laura Jean's PTI--Papertrey Ink swap on SCS.  There were three categories and took one spot in each one.  This final card is a summer card.

This set is one of my favorite PTI sets to ink up for a summer theme--I love all of the gardening sentiments and images!  I think I received this stamp set as a gift from a secret sister on SCS years ago--along with a couple of packs of their awesome cardstock. I guess she knew I loved to garden!

PTI Four of a Kind

Laura Jean is hosting a PTI--Papertrey Ink swap on SCS.  There were three categories and took one spot in each one.  This is for the square card and I got one of the greatest compliments I could........  Rebecca saw this card and said is so pretty and she thought it was the best card I have ever made.  WOW!

I think this is one of my favorite PTI sets--and one of the reasons is that is was a free set I got at CHA in Chicago a few years ago when I spent over a certain amount--I think it was $100.  If you love PTI stamps and/or cardstock, you know to get to that amount is not hard to do--especially when you see everything within your own eyes in person!
