Awesome Sauce

This is my card for the January Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 13th month of de-stashing--we are now starting year #2!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Jeanette posted our January challenge--Use at least 3 different designer papers on your card.

I first picked out the designer paper, which is not my typical plan. I used a Stampin' Up small patterned paper pack that I do not think I have used before.  When I saw the bright colors, I knew I needed to look for a sentiment stamp that reflected this.  The Project Bin has some great sentiment stamps and I think this one is perfect!   I think I did dig into my stash for this card!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today or in the next day or so.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSJAN.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For February, Tracie is up and we already know her challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create for the start of our second year!

For this card, I used a wonderful new stamp set called Kinda Sorta.  This set comes with 6 stamps, 4 sentiment stamps and two frames, that can be used for many occasions.  I think this sentiment is so sweet!

Coincidence

This card is for the monthly swap that Pam hosts on SCS.  Each month we make 10 cards and include a matching envelope.  They can be any theme for any month.  All of the swappers are wonderful and I have received awesome cards each and every month.

I inked up one of my favorite stamp sets from The Project Bin.   I love this set and I have used it often ever since I got it.  I love all of the great sentiments!    I think everyone can use a sweet card like this!

January Creative Card Chicks!

This is my card for January's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month. I am the hostess this month and sent everyone this sweet Whipper Snapper image--Stack O' Birthday Cakes! I also sent patterned paper from the It's My Party pack along with some colorful embellishments.

The image is so large that it would have almost covered the entire card, so I fussy cut.  I also layered three ribbons--the widest Mint Macaron on the bottom, them Crushed Curry, topped with Black.  The melon brads give the card so additional color!

The Creative Card Chicks to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars, you may see more of these wonderful creations!  Some might have posted yesterday, so be sure to look back on their blog.  Many of our members also post their card in our SCS thread--so you might find more there.  Kelly is up for the February Challenge.  Please be sure to come back to see what image we are using!

Friendship Never Melts Away

I am so excited to share this card with you!  It makes me smile as I know I have been smiling for a few days as I have spent the time with some of favorite SCS friends--in person--at my house!  My friends Darlene and Carol are here again to join me at Camp Stamp-in-Oga, which was held yesterday.  Our good friend Kelly, from Miami, also joined us for the first time this year.  Yes, she did fly in from Florida, to Wisconsin, in January!  Just because she loves us!  Then, Jeanette came from Illinois and some "local" Wisconsinites, LJ and Terry are here too!  So, we had a full table of 7 at the stamp class yesterday morning at camp and then spent the rest of the day and night stamping away.  This afternoon, everyone is going to be at my house for a fun watercolor class, taught by my friend Kathy!  Tomorrow morning, I will take Kelly, Darlene and Carol to the airport and the three others leave later today.  I am sure the house will be very quite after they all leave, but I know we have had many, many laughs, smiles, hugs to hold us over until the next time............................

This card was made for the shoebox swap we decided to do while everyone was here. The theme we decide was snow--in honor of Kelly being here and wanting to see snow!  I sure hope her wish came through!

I thought the sentiment was perfect for our get together--and of course, it is a Whipper Snapper sentiment.  I did take Kelly, Carol and Darlene to Creative Pals, in Brookfield, on the way home from the airport on Thursday as it is the home of WSD!

This is the card opened:

Here is the inside of my card.  It features a Gina K snowman image.  And--we also did make a stop at Village Ink & Paper in Greendale on Thursday. That is the home of Gina K.  I am sure that Kelly, Darlene and Carol helped the Wisconsin economy that day!

I hope you like my card and I am sure we had a wonderful time making these fun, snowy cards!  I bet I now have 6 sweet cards to help me remember such a fun few days!
