Witching You!

Happy Halloween!

I looked for a fun Halloween stamp set and picked Taylored Expressions Millie's Haunted Halloween.  I have had this set for awhile and I do not think it has been inked. I thought it might be a fun slimline card and picked a cardstock frame from The Paper Cut.  I colored the 3 images with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut them with their coordinating dies. I added a couple of pieces of patterned paper from the Kaiser Crafts 13th Hour 6x6 paper pack.  The fun sentiment is from the same stamp set.  The black glitter enamel dots are the final touch!

I hope you enjoyed my card and that you also have a very Happy Halloween--full of treats and no tricks!

Hello Harvest

I am posting a card for a series I called Stampin' Up Sundays.  I actually started 2022 out with a card in January and one in February.  Then--crickets until now...........  So--here is my October Stampin' Up Sunday card--on Halloween Eve!  I picked a newer set called Hello Harvest and the coordinating dies called  Rustic Pumpkin.  I colored the images with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut them with their coordinating dies.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set. The background was embossed with one of my favorite folders--Stampin' Up's Pinewood Planks!   I layered the floral image on the top of the pumpkin and they are both popped up.  I added some Stampin' Up Linen Thread under the circle sentient.  The orange enamel dots are the final touch!

I hope you enjoyed my card and that you also have a very Happy Halloween tomorrow. We have trick or treating in our neighborhood this afternoon, so I am sure I will sample a few treats!

Halloween Cat

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 70th month of de-stash, so we are getting to the end of our 6th year of challenges. I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Suzy posted our October challenge--October 29 is National Cat Day. Make a card that has at least one cat on it. The "purr-fect" time to make a Halloween card!

I picked a very sweet Whipper Snapper Designs stamp called Gilley.  I love this image and it is perfect for Halloween and Suzy's challenge!  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut it along with a black layer with Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rounded Square dies.  The spider-web background paper is from Reminisce Such a Treat line.  I added a tag of  some Halloween striped paper and a pumpkin brad.  The black glitter enamel dots are the final touch!

Here is the inside of my card with a strip of the patterned paper:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSOCT.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For November, Pansy is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

Pumpkins and Sunflowers

I love fall colors and there is a ton of orange outside of our windows from a beautiful maple tree!  And, there are a few pumpkins and gourds on our front porch and also many fall colors among the decorations inside of our house.  So--here is a card highlighting the color orange!   I colored the Whipper Snapper Designs Pumpkins and Sunflower Mix image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  The fun patterned paper is very shiny and is from Reminisce called Fall Leaves.  I used an older Stampin' Up edge-lit die for the center layer.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and is from one of their sentiment strip packs. I added a few green sequins for the final touch.  I think this is a fun fall card and will be sent for Thanksgiving.

Gina K Haunts and Harvest

Here we are--this is the Double Duty Day!  This is the 22nd month, so we are in the toward to end year #2.

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For October, the company we are using is Gina K Designs. We all love her stamp sets, so this is a duplicate company from our first year.  And, I do think we will keep it on the rotation for 2023 too!   Gina K Designs has awesome products--stamps, dies, inks, stencils, etc.

I picked a fun fall set called Haunts and Harvest.  This is a sweet fall stamp set and it comes with coordinating dies.  I picked the cat stamp, along with the spiders and bats.  They are all inked in Hero Arts Intense Black a few times on my Misti--great coverage for solid stamps! The sentiments come from the same stamp set.   I used the same cardstock colors and the same Cast-a-Spell DSP for both cards.  I used Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 to die cut the patterned paper layer.  And, the same set for the black layer.  Then, I used Master Layouts 1 to die cut the vellum piece behind the cat on the striped card.  And--I added the same black and orange twine on both cards!

I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards. Here is a link to Jeanette's,  Darlene and Carol's blogs. I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards.

Northwoods Rubber Stamp is the company that is up for our November challenge, so be sure to check out our cards on the 22nd!

Hang In There

This is my card for a swap called the SIS--Surprise Image Swap.   This is card #5  for our group.  It is a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The surprise part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--the 18th of every other month.   The image for this round was provided by Laura Jean.  She will swap the cards and include the new image for round #6 that Diane stamps in everyone's return envie. Then--we do it all again in December!

LJ sent everyone this sweet fox image and the fun sentiment from a stamp set from Taylored Expressions called Swinging By.  I colored the cute fox image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I then die cut two circles with my Stampin' Up Layering Circle Dies in The Paper Loft Pinecone Lodge patterned paper and Mossy Meadow layer.  I placed the fox image behind the window of circles.  I layered the sentiment over a strip of Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.  I think this is a nice masculine card to send to a guy who might be struggling a it.   Because of that, I did not add any bling..............

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations.  The due date is today, the 18th, or they may post in the upcoming days. You can also check out SCS and use the keyword SIS05 to see some posted there.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

Gotcha Day--Hooray Oliver

Today is the 15th and that means the Dueling Darlings are back to post their fun cards!  This group was founded 10 years ago and there are a few of us that are the original members.  Kelly and Jeanette are still our team leaders and they try so hard to keep us all in line and going strong!  On team Kelly are Terry, Carol and me.  Team Jeanette consists of Lorraine, Darlene and Tracie.  And, we are all Dueling Darlings!

This month, all of the kits were sent by Kelly!  The theme is "Gotcha Day".  A year ago, Kelly rescued a kitty cat and named him Oliver.  He was a sickly, little thing. He and the entire Santi family has come a long way and it has been a journey for all involved.  So--in honor of his finding a loving home and for all of the other rescued animals, we are all celebrating Gotcha Day!

Kelly sent us this sweet image from colorado Craft Company called Kindness First.  She also included the cute sentiments that I added to the front and inside of my card.  Kelly also sent some cute patterned paper from S.E.I Crafts and a whole bunch of fun ribbons and embellishments.

I colored the sweet image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut it with a Gina Marie Designs Stitched Square Die.  I loved all of the patterned paper and wanted to showcase as much as I could, so I used three pieces.  I added the pink twine along with 3 pink rhinestones as the final touch.   This was fun card to make!  Thank you Kelly for the sweet image and allowing us to honor Oliver on his Gotcha Day!

Here is the inside of my card with the coordinating sentiment and a fun felt heart that Kelly sent.

I hope all of the Dueling Darlings enjoy my card this month.  Please be sure to stop in to see what fun crafty cards are posted,    All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate and my partner Lorraine does not have a blogs, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the wonderful creations this month!

We are taking November and December off, so the next time you will see us is next year--2023!  Wow--seems so early to say that................ Be sure to check in with us in 2023 to see what Kelly and Jeanette have planned for us!

Hot Mess Alcohol Ink

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card.  This is card number 41, so we are into year #4. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a very fun group and will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For this month's messiness,  I again went back to one of my favorite and messy techniques--using Alcohol Inks!  I took a class last weekend at Stamp Joy that used alcohol inks and I had one panel left from our practicing a few techniques with the inks and a blower.  I made 2 cards with a similar design as we did in class.  I die cut the Pinkfresh Studio Curvey Leaves from the inky panel and also cut one set from white.  I inlaid the white leaves in the colorful background and placed the inky leaves on a silver panel I embossed with my Stampin' Up Painted Texture EF. I then used a set of die cut words that were stacked for the sentiment.  Some Pinkfresh Studio bling were the final touch.

I really like the look of both of these cards and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies liked them too!

Here are the links to the other members of Hot Mess ~ Success.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, Carol's and Darlene's blogs. I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to on September 12th.

Stamp Joy 2022 Recap

Another fun year at Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy 2022!!!!! I drove to Des Moines last Thursday and came home on Sunday.  It was an awesome time with about 225 attendees. We received an awesome swag bag, in a fun canvas bag about rainbows!  I did not win a door prize this year, but that was okay.

I took two classes--the cards are below:

The cards on the left are from a not released yet (and maybe not in the future) create-in-quads stencil set called Scenic Route.  I love the colors they picked and they work so well together.   The 4 cards on the right were from the Saturday alcohol ink class and we received the fun leaf die.

This is picture of all of the cards that were swapped Friday night and the second picture is of the 34 cards I got in the swap.  If you missed my blog post yesterday, I posted my swap card.

These are the 10 make n' takes I made on Friday and Saturday.

Then on Friday night was the Crafty Olympics.  There were 20 teams of 4 people and we did 4 events.  Our team was the Champions!  We took a team picture with Taylor and the second picture shows the prize package each of us won.

On Sunday, we were able to sign up for a tour of the new TE building that iis to open mid-November.  This is the sweet sign from the outside and those on our tour.  We also received another fun swag bag for attending.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and reading a bit about my fun weekend!

Oh Yes You Did!

Today I am posting the card I made for the Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy card swap this past weekend.  I made 35 of these cards and we swapped them Friday night.  All of the components are Taylored Expressions products.   I will post a picture of the cards I have received in the next few days.

I really like black and white cards--they are stunning!  This was a very time consuming card and it took me many hours to make all of them. The most challenging part was die cutting the Flourishing Frame from Black Glossy cardstock.  It took a long time to weed each one and there were little fibers that needed to be taken off too. The background is embossed with the TE folder called Dotted Lattice.  The sentiment is from the Oh Yes You Did stamp set--I love so many of the sentiments in this set!  Some  black Drip Drops are the final touch!

I hope you like my card.  And, I hope my Stamp Joy attendees who swapped with me also liked my card.  Stay tuned for a picture of the cards I received

Haunted House

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the image from CC Designs called Haunted House that Kelly sent out for our October card, #98! That means we are in the middle of year number 7 with this fun challenge! All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a long time!

I think this is such a fun image.  Kelly sent us one image that she die cut and 2 on card fronts.  I picked the die cut one and colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers. The background bat paper is from Echo Park Paper and is called Happy Halloween-Graveyard. The reverse side has the Halloween words that I used on the bottom strip instead of a sentiment.    I added some black glitter enamel dots  for the final touch!   I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Here is the inside of my card, with a strip of the patterned paper:

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  They may post today or tomorrow, so be sure to check out their blogs for their card!  I am up for our November challenge.  Please be sure to join us again.
