Welcome to the third round with the Calendar Girls!
Who are the Calendar Girls? We are a group of bloggers who want to have a place where friendships blossom, creativity abounds, and encouragement prevails! In keeping with that dream, this blog group has been created so we will have a place to interact and enjoy being fellow bloggers.
This month hostess is Ms. March, our own April—no, her name is April and her month is March as it is her birthday month—confused yet??? It is a three-fer, since it is the third month of the year and the third round. Here are the three components:
1—Spring is right around the corner (and as I post this, temps in Wisconsin have been in the 30’s and parts of the state got 18 more than inches of snow), but I will believe Spring is coming……. we were to use an image to portray something I am looking forward to ~~ for me it is flowers and the gardens to come to life!
2—Use a technique or product that “scares” us—something that I admire and have procrastinated using ~~ for me it is the Crystal Effects I used on the flower blooms. I am really not intimated by it—just do not use it enough.
3—And finally, we were to use a sketch that April designed ~~ for me that was the easy part—I love following sketches as the design is already set.
So, here is my card for the month. And, for the third month in a row—do you see a theme with threes?—I have used a flower image. I am soooooo ready for spring.

SOTC March Swap--Boys will be Boys
This is the card that I made for a monthly swap on SCS called the Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards--SOTC. Our hostess this month is April and the theme she choose was any card for a teen boy. Her son though technically is not a teen, she said that he thinks like one. Though my card is technically not a teen card, all boys still get scraped knees and play with bugs!

Dueling Darling Divas March Card---Being a Kid at Heart
Here is my card for our Battle and we are in round #8!
What are the Dueling Darlings? We are a group of friends that met on SCS, travel in each other's swaps and have taken a new twist on crafting to "duel"!
We, the Dueling Darling Divas, have one image/card kit to work with and the other half, the Dueling Darling Dazzlers, have a different image/card kit with the same theme! The object is to see what we came up with using this theme, what stamp was picked and how the divas/dazzlers created with it!
The theme this month is “Being a Kid at Heart”. The hostess this month is Kelly, who sent us these great supplies and as usual, there were many to choose from. The challenge this month was to find an item from childhood and incorporate in the card and Kelly sent us a puzzle piece from a Winnie the Pooh puzzle. I knew I had the perfect sentiment to use with the puzzle piece—it is from Gina K’s set “Love you to Pieces” This is one of her “Stamps for a Cause” stamp set created to benefit Autism.
So here are the details on the playful card I created:
Image—Riley and Company—Bouncing Ball Riley, Gina K Designs--Love you to Pieces
Cardstock—SU Real Red, GKD White and 2 pieces of paper that Kelly sent—one red with a circle pattern and the other a red, orange, green and blue plaid.
Ink—Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories—Quikutz dies, Copics, Sizzix Hearts embossing folder, Red Ric-rac, white with red print flower, orange button, Heidi Grace faux brads and a puzzle piece donated by Winnie the Pooh
Now make sure to stop by to see the Divas and then your final stop will be a link to take you to see what the Dazzlers created! We are a big group of 16, so this might take awhile ~ and this is just a friendly joust ~ no winners, certainly no losers! Just a craftin', loveable group of friends taking on a monthly joust at card making! :)
AND--now for the DUEL! Please start at Jeanette's blog, which will bring you to the 8 dazzlers
I hope you enjoy looking at our creations! Thanks for joining us!!!!!!

Thank You card for Stamp Club
This is the card that I made for our monthly stamp club this week--theme was Thank You . The card was inspired by a card I received last week from Pearl and just loved it. So, I asked her if I could “case” it and she said yes, as no one had ever case’d one of her cards before. Her card used vintage papers and had an antiqued look. I went for a brighter card and I hope the ladies at club tonight like it too. I used a 1 ¼ inch punch for the 8 squares—two of each pattern and the strips on the right side that are woven are ½ inch wide. I added the wide ribbon to give added color.

This is one of the swap cards that I made for Viv’s Colorful swap on SCS. There were many categories to choose from and I took four spots! I took white on white as a challenge--but the harder challenge is to get a good picture! There are no stamps or ink used on this card.
