HO HO HO

One More Month until Santa Comes!

It is interesting what you might find when looking for something else.  Recently I was looking through a box of packs of panels for foiling and came across a bunch of already foiled panels.  I am not sure when I foiled them or why I did not make cards at the time.  These panels are from Creative Vision, a company that was from SE Wisconsin that closed in 2020.  Laura was the owner and I chatted with her often at stamp shows.  I even sat by her when we took a Copic Certification class years ago...........................

The panels were foiled with red foil and then I die cut the panel with two different die sets.  I backed each panel with some Red Mirricard cardstock from The Paper Cut.  I then added a colorful holiday panel on the card base and my cards are done!  I found at least one more package of these panels, so more cards to come.   These cards sure are shiny and fun!

Snowman......Let It Snow

These fun fold winter cards are from a recent virtual class from Sarah and The Paper Cut.  These were from the November Crafter's Classroom called Snowman.....Let It Snow. The Juggling Snowman in the front is an Easel Card.  The Frosty Fun card on the back left is a Peek-A-Boo Shutter and the inside that opens with the shutters says Coolest Holiday Wishes and the bottom It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. The back right Snowman with Presents card is a Horizontal Stair Step Card.

Remember--these are not my designs.  I just followed along with Sarah.

The images and sentiments are from Brass & Bliss called stamp and die sets. The sets used were Forever Friends, Hello Friend, Let it Snow, Snowman with Presents, and a Snowflake die set.  All of the cardstock was provided in the kit and is from The Paper Cut.  Even, the cute winter paper!  These cards sure are colorful and fun!

I have the November's Fun Time Thursday cards to make yet.  I also a few older kits from Sarah's classes waiting to be done--so more cards from The Paper Cut to Come!

O Holy Night

Today is the 22nd so this is the Double Duty Day!  This is the 47th month, so we are almost at the end our 4th year! We will be continuing in 2025 and will have a new member, so be sure to check us out!

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For November, the company we decided on is Concord & 9th.  This is a fun company, with beautiful images and sentiments.  I also have participated in a couple of their virtual "Camp" classes and have one coming up in February.  For this month,  I picked a sweet sentiment image called O Holy Night.  The stamp set includes matching dies for some of the small images and the large sentiment.

Instead of double duty this month, I have a Quintuple Duty set of cards.  I decided since I was heat embossing the sentiment, I should make a few additional with different colors of cardstock! I stamped all of the panels with Versamark and embossed with Brutus Monroe Gilded embossing powder.  I then decided to die cut a couple of the panels while trimming the rest to layer on a gold panel.   For a couple I used my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 to cut the panel and backer. I added a gold star die cut from a Tim Holtz set called Swirling Stars. It does not show up well on the gold panels.  There are other small stamps and dies in the set, but I did not add any, nor any bling, as I wanted the embossed sentiment to "shine"!

I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards. Here is a link to Jeanette'sDarlene’s  and  Carol's blogs.   I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards.    And, be sure to look back in their blogs as I am a day late.

Next month we will highlight another favorite of all of us, Brass & Bliss, formerly Rubbernecker Stamps.   So be sure to check out our cards on December 22nd!

Winter Birds

These fun cards are from a recent virtual class from Sarah and The Paper Cut.  These were from a Fun Time Thursday in October called Winter Birds. The card on the right is a Oval Window Magic Card that pulls up to reveal a colored image. The bottom left card is a Vertical Banded Z-Fold.

Remember--these are not my designs.  I just followed along with Sarah.

The images and some sentiments were from a fun stamp and die set from Brass & Bliss called Winter Birds!  Some other Brass & Bliss sets used were Christmas Cheer and Let it Snow.   All of the cardstock was provided in the kit and is from The Paper Cut.  Even, the cute striped paper!  These cards sure are colorful and fun!

I have the November's Fun Time Thursday cards to make from last week to complete yet.  I also have Sarah's class from November's Crafter's Classroom waiting to be done--so more cards from The Paper Cut to Come!

Friday Craft Along

Last Friday night was the monthly Create and Connect Craft along with Lea and Heather from Pinkfresh Studio. I actually was able to craft along and made one of the three cards live, the one designed by Lea.  I did not finish the two by Heather as I struggled embossing a large background stamp.  I will try again this week as the cards were very cute!

Remember--this is not my design.  I just followed along with the creators--Lea and Heather!

The bundle Lea used was Blooming Peony which includes a stamp set and 6-piece stencil set.  The image was stamped with Pinkfresh Studio Warm Buff, for a very soft outline.  I also used PFS inks for blending with the stencils along with my newer 1" PFS large brushes, which I love! Those colors are listed below. The gold frame is from Notched Corner Frames.

This was a very fun evening of crafting, even though I struggled with the first set of cards.  There will not be a night in December, so I will be back in January or February for the next Craft Along.

Sips & Stories

Today is the 15th and this is my card this month for our The Creative Crew!  We are a group of 7--Jeanette, Carol, Darlene, Lorraine, Terry, Tracie and me. Each month will be a new challenge posed by one of the members sending out a kit. This month, Tracie sent out a sweet image from Newton's Nook called Sips & Stories.  She also sent a sentiment from the same set.  Tracie also included some sweet patterned paper.

I colored the cute image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I die cut the image and blue backer from a Taylored Expressions die set called Inside Square Scalloped Stacklets.   I picked the cute pastel striped paper for my background and the pastel hearts for a middle strip. The sentiment and backer was flagged with a banner punch.    I added some blue enamel dots around the image.  This was a very fun card to make!

I hope all of The Creative Crew Gals enjoy my card this month.  Please be sure to stop in to see what fun crafty cards are posted this month.  All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate Lorraine does not have a blog, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the fun holiday cards!

Tracie also asked us what we are currently reading.  I basically ready nonfiction and like political books.  I read about 1/2 of Kamala's book The Truths We Hold on Libby, but did not finish it.  It comes back to me in about 10 weeks--so it must be pretty popular.  I also read From the Corner of the Oval by Beck Dorey-Stein--another good book.  The best book I read so far this year was Liz Cheney's Oath and Honor--Outstanding Book!  OK--off my soapbox!

We will be back in December with another challenge that Terry will sending out.  Be sure to check in with us on the 15th to see what fun is planned!

Alcohol Ink Messes

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. This card is #65, so we are now into year #7. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a very fun group and will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

I decided to get messy this month, and next month, with alcohol inks. I picked three different types of Yupo paper.  The top left is matte white and the top right is glossy white.  The bottom panel is silver.  I used various shades of green of Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks with a bit of silver added.  I then used all three panels to make Christmas cards.  Two are highlighted today and the third will be in December.

For the top card, I used my sweet Impression Obsession Snowflake 6 die, cut from silver metallic cardstock.  I layered the snowflake three times and added it to the white glossy panel that has the green alcohol inks. The sentiment is from a Pinkfresh Studio Foiled Holiday Sentiment pack.  I added a rhinestone in the middle of the snowflake,

The bottom card uses a die set from Gina K Designs called Peace and Shadow.  Again, I die cut the word from silver metallic cardstock and the backer from Lemon Lime Twist.  I die cut the inked panel and the silver backer with Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2. This sentiment was from a Gina K Designs Sentiment pack, die cut with Master Layouts 1.  This card have some rhinestones around the card.

I really like the look of both of these cards and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like them too!  Here are the links to the other somewhat messy crafters:   Carol, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry.   I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to in December as we will all be back for another round! My card will showcase the third panel on silver.

Always Smiling

On Friday night, I participated in a virtual Pinkfresh Studio even, taught be Lea and Heather that was sponsored by Cobblestone Creek Studio from Oregon. I ordered the kit for the class and it also came with the main stamp, stencil and die set called Always Smiling.  Of course I also added on the coordinating press plate.  Leslie, the owner, put together an amazing kit--panels already stamped and heat embossed along with two panels die cut with a cover plate.  She also die cut the two gold frames and included a little bag of gems!  I actually was able to craft along and made both of the sweet cards. It felt amazing to complete them during the class and not have another kit sitting on my shelf, waiting to be tackled!

Remember--these are not my designs.  I just followed along with the creators--Lea and Heather!

This was a very fun evening of crafting. I did place another order yesterday from Leslie as she gave us a discount on any Pinkfresh Studio items.  And, it has already shipped!  I know I will order from Cobblestone Creek Studios in the future and would love to see this store in person someday!

Berry Cupcake

Today is the 9th and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. This round, Kelly is the hostess and sent out this sweet image from Pink & Main from the Berry Cupcake set. Kelly included one die cut and the other two images on a card panel. I picked the die cut cupcake!  For November, this is card #123 and we are now in year #11!  I cannot believe this trio has been going strong for 11 strong years!  And, we will be back for 2025!

I colored the cute cupcake image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I picked out a Brass & Bliss Quilted Cover Plate for the background, cut from Lemon Lime Twist.  The cardbase is Petal Pink, with a layer of gold metallic peeking through the holes!   The sentiment is from a foiled Pinkfresh Studio sentiment set.  I then added some Pink Pearls around the cupcake for some bling!  I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of cute cards!  I am up for our December challenge, so please be sure to join us again.

Happy Birthday

Today is the day I am posting my card for our One Plus Twelve challenge in 2024.  This is year number 6.   For this challenge, we are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month and post on the 3rd of each month.  For this year, I picked a Pinkfresh Studio set called Thankful for Friends.  The set includes the stamp set, matching die, coordinating stencils and a hot foil plate!   I think this set is so pretty and I will have many options each month.

For my card this month, I first hot foiled the image in copper foil. I then used the 4 piece stencil with Pinkfresh Studio inks to color the image.  I then die cut the floral cluster with the matching die.  I picked a Pinkfresh Studio plate called Dotted Scallops for the background, using Copper Mirricard.  I added a frame I cut from white from another Pinkfresh Studio die set called Pretty Frames. I picked a birthday sentiment from my box of sentiment.   I added some Pinkfresh Studio Glacier Jewels around the image.

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards to see the the cards that Kelly and Jeanette have created for November!  Here is a link to both Jeanette's  and Kelly's blog.  Be sure to come back on December 3rd to see our final set of cards for 2024.  I need to start to think of what set I want to use in 2025!
