Metallic & Sparkly Christmas Cards

Happy Halloween--but I am Showcasing Christmas Cards!!!!

Today is the last day of October and I am posting a set of cards for our challenge-The Catch-up Club!  A few of my stamping friends, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry along with myself, have signed up for a number of virtual stamping events in the past 3+ years.  One of the benefits of these events are that they are available to rewatch or even watch for the first time at a later date as they are all recorded. The 4 of us "try" to watch live and chat by texting during the event.  But, life steps in and there are times when one or more of us are not participating during the live.  Then, the kits from sponsors sits in our stamping area until we are ready to watch the video and create.  During one of the events, we decided we needed to push ourselves (and each other) to get some of these events done!   So--we all decided to devote one day a month, the last day of the month for the somewhat procrastinators that we are, to post cards we missed making.  So--here we are in our 15th month of The Catch Up Club!

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This month the creations are again from Sarah and The Paper Cut in Appleton, WIS!

These cards are from her Virtual Warehouse Sale Week in September called Metallic & Sparkly Christmas Cards.  The images and sentiments are from Rubbernecker, who is now Brass & Bliss or Impression Obsession.   All of the beautiful cardstock is also from The Paper Cut.

Sarah offers many different kinds of classes through the year and kits can be ordered from their website.  I have a few other virtual classes from The Paper Cut that need to be completed. And,  I also have parts of other virtual events and classes from 2023 and earlier this year that need to be completed.   I am already way behind, so more Catch Up to Come!

I hope you enjoyed my cards!  Here are the links to the other of the Catch Up Club.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, and Darlene's blogs.  They may post today or tomorrow, but we have all promised to post cards that we have missed the making along the way!

Pinkfresh Deck the Halls

Last Friday night was the monthly Create and Connect Craft along with Lea and Heather from Pinkfresh Studio. I actually was able to craft along and made 2 of the three cards live--the two top cards designed by Lea.  I did finish the lower one that Heather designed the next day.  I felt pretty good getting them done within a day of the event!

Remember--these are not my designs.  I just followed along with the creators--Lea and Heather!

The bundle we used was Deck the Halls which includes a stamp set, 6-piece stencil, washi tape and the coordinating die set.  I also used PFS inks for blending, which are listed below.  I did not have the same coverplate as Lea used, so I picked one I did own.

This was a very fun evening of crafting.  I have already signed up for the November one and the order is placed for the products to be used!

I hope you enjoy my Christmas cards and I know they will be sent out in 2024!

Thankful

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 94th month of de-stash, so we are into our 8th year of challenges.  I cannot believe my thought about using what we have is now 8+ years old!   I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Tracie posted our October challenge--Use a stencil on your card.

I picked a large 5x8 stencil from Simple Stories called Acorn Love. I then ink blended these fall Taylored Expressions ink colors--Honey, Mulled Wine and Sweet Potato Pie over the stencil.  I used the same size ivory cardstock so I was able to make two cards with the colorful bases.  I die cut one with my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2. Early Espresso is the cardbase and Pecan Pie is the layered color.  I then picked a Simon Says Stamp Die set called Chunky Thankful and used the same cardstock colors.  One I used the frame and the other I included the middle of the letters.  I added some Pinkfresh Studio Butterscotch Glitter Drops around the words.

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSOCT.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For November, Lorraine is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

Haunted Bats

I was on a roll this week with using stencils, so I decided to make a Halloween card using Simon Hurley Lunar Paste in Shady.  The stencil is from Carta Bella called Haunted Bats. I love the shine from Lunar Paste and I think this stencil is so fun!  The witch is a very old wood mounted stamp from Stampabilities called Flying Witch--one of my oldies but goodies!  I added some Taylored Expressions Purple Glitter Drops around the image

Thanks for stopping by today!  This card will be in the mail soon, on the way to make someone smile!

Pinkfresh Lovely Blooms

I am a day late, but here we are--this is the Double Duty Day!  This is the 46th month, so we are well in our 4th year!  WOW--4 years of making two cards with the same stamp from different companies each month!

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For October, the company we decided on is Pinkfresh Studio.  This is one of the favorite companies of all of us!  We also participate in many of their virtual classes.    I picked a set called Lovely Blooms.  This is a 3 piece set--stamp set, matching dies and a set of 6 stencils.

For both cards, I stamped the floral image with black ink and I actually stamped a few panels so I have extras.  I then ink blended two panels with the same Pinkfresh Studio inks.  I placed both panels on my Altenew Mat and moved the stencil from the first to the second without cleaning.  I then placed the panels back into my Misti where I left the floral stamp and reinked with black a second time.  YES--that was scary, but the Misti makes it easy as it does not move!    I then die cut both panels so I had 2 sets of the flowers.  I am not sure what company made the sentiments, but they might be Pinkfresh as they were in a plastic box containing other foiled PFS ones!

For this peach card, the background is a Pinkfresh Studio Dotted Scallops plate.  The circle was cut from two dies in the Pinkfresh Studio Inverted Stitched Scallop Circles.   I used foam tape under the circle and the flowers I used.  I added some Trinity Studio Fireball embellishments around the circles.

For the green card, I picked another Pinkfresh Studio plate called Modern Mosaic for the background.  The white arch is from Taylored Expressions and I picked two dies to make a wider frame. I also used foam tape behind the arch and the flowers.  Pinkfresh Leaf Glitter Drops were added inside the arch around the flowers.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards. Here is a link to Jeanette'sDarlene’s  and  Carol's blogs.   I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards.    And, be sure to look back in their blogs as I am a day late.

Next month we will highlight another favorite of all of us, Concord & 9th.   So be sure to check out our cards on November 22nd!

Wishing You Joy ~ Stamp Joy

Today I am posting the card I made for the Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy card swap that happened yesterday at the event in Des Moines.  I made 38 of these cards and all of the components are Taylored Expressions products. I hope to post more pictures from the events in the next week or so.

I really like the Season Sprig stamp and stencil set.  I saw a few samples made on Toffee cardstock and thought I would give it a try. I first stamped the image and sentiment on the panel with black ink.  I picked a more generic saying so it can be used for any winter occasion.  I brush blended the 2 piece coordinating stencil with Cilantro and Cherry Pop.  I then splattered Dr. Ph Martin's Bleed Proof White over the panel.  The cardbase is Cherry Pop.

I hope you like my card.  And, I hope my Stamp Joy attendees who swapped with me also liked my card.  Stay tuned for a picture of the cards I received

How Ya Been?

This is my card for a swap called the SIS--Surprise Image Swap.   This is card #17 for our group.  It is a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The surprise part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--the 18th of every other month.   These two sweet images for this round was provided by Terry!  She will swap the cards and include the new image for round #18 that Kathi will have stamped in each return envie. Then--we do it all again in December!

Terry sent us this adorable bear image from the Gina K Designs Coffee Critters set stamped on a quarter sheet .  She also included the cute fox image that was die cut.   I colored each of the images with my Copic Sketch Markers.   I then die cut a heart from my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 4 in the Early Espresso Panel.  I then embossed the panel from a Darice Coffee Pot folder.  I layered the heart over the bear and added the fox on the side.  The sentiment is from an older A*Muse wood block stamp called How Ya Bean? I added a few brown metallic gems from The Ton around the bear.  This was a fun card to make!

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations.  The due date is today, the 18th, or they may post in the upcoming days. You can also check out SCS and use the keyword SIS17 to see some posted there.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

Happy Holidays

Today is the 15th and this is my card this month for our The Creative Crew!  We are a group of 7--Jeanette, Carol, Darlene, Lorraine, Terry, Tracie and me. Each month will be a new challenge posed by one of the members sending out a kit. This month, Lorraine sent out a sweet Christmas Kit! The image is from a Brutus Monroe set called Peppermint Lane.  She also sent a few different sentiments and the one I picked is from Close to my Heart called Happy Holidays.  Lorraine sent some images die cut with the coordinating die as well as a couple on quarter sheets of cardstock.  She also included some sweet holiday patterned paper.  I think Lorraine included some embellishments in the kits, but I did not get any.  I added my own.

I colored one of the die cut images with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I added some highlights with clear Wink of Stella on the roof and chimney were the snow is piled.  I picked the blue and white stars paper for my background and cut the layer and white metallic backer with Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2. I added a black layer behind my sentiment and added the sentiment with foam adhesive behind it.  I added some peppermint candy clay embellishments on the sentiment panel.  This was a very fun card to make!

I hope all of The Creative Crew Gals enjoy my card this month.  Please be sure to stop in to see what fun crafty cards are posted this month.  All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate Lorraine does not have a blog, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the fun holiday cards!

We will be back in November with another challenge that Tracie will sending out.  Be sure to check in with us on the 15th to see what fun is planned!

Merry

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. This card is #64, so we are now into year #7. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a very fun group and will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For this month's messiness, I wanted to use some of the newer Spellbinders Embossing Folders I recently purchased. I made another card that was my September card. This card uses the Scenic Poinsettias embossing folder on Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  I then swiped my Versamark ink pad lightly over the raised areas and added white embossing powder.  It is very random over the areas and looks shiny in real life! The sentiment is a MFT die called Stacked Merry, cut from The Paper Cut's White Lady Metallic cardstock.  I die cut the embossed panel with Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 along with the same White Lady cardstock.  There are some Pinkfresh Studio Glacier Jewels on the card.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like it  too!  Here are the links to the other somewhat messy crafters:   Carol, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry.   I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to in November as we will all be back for another round!

Let's Brew Up Some Fun

Today is the 9th and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. This round, Jeanette is the hostess and sent out this sweet image from CC Designs from the Witchy Way set. Jeanette also included the cute sentiment from the same set. For October, this is card #122 and we are now in year #11!  I cannot believe this trio has been going strong for 11 strong years!

I colored the witch image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I picked out a very old Cuttlebug Embossing folder called Spiderweb and picked where I wanted the circle die cut.  I cut first, then ran the black panel through my Big Shot with my embossing folder.  The sentiment was backed with Gorgeous Grape and I added a flag.  I then added some Taylored Expressions Black Rhinestones around the image for a bit of glimmer.  I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of cute cards!  Kelly is up for our November challenge and we will continue in our 11th year!  Please be sure to join us again.

Just a Little Note

Today is the day I am posting my card for our One Plus Twelve challenge in 2024.  This is year number 6.   For this challenge, we are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month and post on the 3rd of each month.  For this year, I picked a Pinkfresh Studio set called Thankful for Friends.  The set includes the stamp set, matching die, coordinating stencils and a hot foil plate!   I think this set is so pretty and I will have many options each month.

For my card this month, I first hot foiled the image in gold foil. I then used the 4 piece stencil with Taylored Expressions inks to color the image.  I then die cut the floral cluster with the matching die.  I picked a Pinkfresh Studio plate called Stitched Octagons for the background. Keeping with the octagon them, I added a frame I cut from The Paper Cut's Gold Metallic with two dies from the Pinkfresh Studio Blanket Stitched Octagon set. I picked a gold sentiment from one of my PFS sentiment packs. I added some Pinkfresh Studio Metallic Gold Pearls around the image.

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards to see the the cards that Kelly and Jeanette have created for October!  Here is a link to both Jeanette's  and Kelly's blog.  Be sure to come back on November 3rd to see our next set of cards.
