Sunset

This is my card for the Crafters of Faith that my friend Kelly is hosting on SCS.  This is our third month and Liz was up to post the challenge.  This is what Liz gave us for a challenge: I've done a little studying last night and I have decided that for March I want to use this scripture from Psalm 40:3 NLT: "He has given me a new song to sing."  God is never boring and is always creative. Just look at the beauty in every sunrise and sunset. Although they appear in the same direction of east and west every day, no two are ever exactly alike.  Feature a sunrise or sunset on your card and just as different as our cards will be, aren't you just amazed at every new day that God gives us? Be adventuresome with your faith to get out of the box that might seem most comfortable to you and don't let your comfort restrict God's plans for your new song He has for you to sing
I took out my brayer and used some retired Stampin' Up colors to made this pretty sunset.  I started with brayering More Mustard all over the card. I then added the circle for the moon and brayered Pumpkin Pie.  Finally I sponged Bravo Burgundy around the edges and Chocolate Chip just on the edges.  I also went with a retired SU stamp set--Just Believe.

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope Kelly and Liz and the others like my card this month!  We are to post between the 7th and 10th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too!

Final Card Kit

Here it is--my final card from my January card kits! I met my goal of getting all of my cards completed in February!  And, I did make two cards from each of the kits from my generous SCS friends!  Thanks Ladies

This is the second card from kit #11, from Terry L. my final kit. Terry hand delivered my kit in January at Camp Stamp-in-Oga that she attended along with Darlene and LJ.  It was a fun kit with a snowman and a couple of great sentiments.  She also gave me a bunch of snowy patterned paper along with some fibers and ribbons plus matching embellishments.  I hope I did OK and that Terry likes my creations.  Thanks Bunches for a great kit Terry!!! My first card from Terry's kit was posted yesterday, so be sure to check it out.

I had a blast making these 22 cards the past month--and I loved getting each and every package from these great ladies!  I loved to see how they interpreted my request of "snowy images" and I have more great images to play with in the future.  Thanks for a great month wonderful friends!

I am in another card kit group on SCS and my month to be showered is April.  In that group, we do not post any of our wishes, so I will be back in May to show off all of those creations with many various themes!

Chickadee

I am back with another card kit.  I received the kits in January and I did get them all done in February!   My goal for this card kit group this time around was to make two projects from every kit.  Every person who sends me a kit includes quite a few images--and many times there are a couple of different images included in each kit.  And, the senders were very generous in the papers and embellishments, so I can easily make two projects from each kit.   And, I did make two cards from every kit!

This is the second of the two cards from kit #10, from Darlene. Darlene hand delivered my kit in January when she came to visit.  It was a fun kit with 5 or 6 different snowy images.  She also gave me a 6x6 pack of patterned paper and an assortment of embossed cardstock and metallic papers. There was also a many different ribbons and matching embellishments.  I hope I did OK and that Darlene likes my creations.  Thanks Bunches for a great kit Darlene!!! My first card from Darlene's kit was posted yesterday, so be sure to check it out.

There is one more kit to come--tomorrow you will see Terry L's card!

Take Flight

It is the 28th and that means a new post for our group on SCS.  This is post #2 for Challenge Your Stash!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group by the 5th of the month and the card is due to be posted on the 28th.  The challenges can be a color challenge or a sketch challenge or a technique challenge or a combination.  Then, each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Laura Jean posted our February challenge--Take Flight ~ Think things that Fly!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSFEB.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducer have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Tan It!

This is my card for February's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month.  Carol is the hostess this month and sent everyone this hilarious image and matching "bum"!!!  Carol said her February kit has her thinking of summer as she is sick of the old and snow! That is probably before the temperatures reached into the 60's this past week in the Midwest!  But--it still is February!

Carol included some colorful patterned papers and some cute embellishments for our card! She also sent a "wiggle" disk for us to use--and of course, the only place appropriate is on her bum!  I love the way the card turned out and am thinking of who to send it to!

The Creative Card Chicks to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars today or in the next few days, you may see more of these wonderful creations!  Many of our members also post their card in our SCS thread--so you might find more there.  Sue is up for the March Challenge so please come back to see what image she has sent!

Here is the inside of my card.

This was a fun kit and I hope Carol and the other Creative Card Chicks like my card.
