Fur Ball Thanks!

These two cards were made for some wonderful people who helped make a recent fund raiser a success.  Yes, it is called The Fur Ball and it is sponsored by a local Humane Society, of which I am on the Board of Directors.  It was held this past Saturday and even though the weather did not fully cooperate, it was a fun event and I think we made a significant amount of money to help the shelter pets!

I made these one of these cards for the chairwoman of the committee that has the vision year after year for this event and is incredibly creative.  She provides many hours to this fund raiser--thanks Cynthia!  The second card goes to the shelter Executive Director, who also spends a great deal of time on this event.  I have actually known Lisa since she was in high school and consider her a great friend--which I am sure is part of the reason I have volunteered my time on this board.

Here is the inside of both cards:

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This is my card for the monthly themed swap that Terry is hosting on SCS.  Each month she will post a theme and we make cards using any stamp set we believe follows that thought. This is our 22nd month and the theme for October is "Think Pink".  We could make any themed card that we wanted, as long as it had pink on it!  I decided to go with this image as October is beast cancer awareness month. I am sure there will be some wonderful cards this month.

I hope Terry and the others swappers like my card this month too!  I cannot wait to see what our theme is for November and it will be posted today!

BFF Witches

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the image that Jeanette sent this month for Card #37!  That means we are now into our fourth year of creating together!   All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a few more!  I will be up next for the November challenge, so I need to start to think of what to ink up!  Be sure to come back to see what we create!

For our October card, Jeanette sent us this hilarious Whipper Snapper Designs image.  She often tries to find an image with three "of something".  I am not sure what she is trying to imply this month!  I hope Jeanette and Kelly like my card.

Here is the inside of my card:

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  They may post today, or it may be upcoming, so be sure to check out their blog for their card!

Top Note Quilt

Here is my October Crafters of Faith card.  This is a great group that my friend Kelly started on SCS. This is our 10th month and Susan gave us this challenge:    For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 NIV

This is the verse I would like to highlight with October card ---- so anything with a quilt, tapestry, artwork of sorts
.

I recently saw a card in my stash that I had made many years ago using this quilt-like technique, using the Stampin' Up Top Note die.  I have not made one like this in years and I thought it would be fun to do again. I used myu SU 1 1/4" punch to make the squares and adhered them to a piece of cardstock before cutting with the die. I think the sentiment is a good fit for this challenge and I hope others think so too.

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope Susan, along the others like my card this month!  We are to post between the 7th and 10th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too!  Jody is up for our November challenge and so be sure to check back to see what our scripture is.

Use that Washi Tape!

This is my card for the September Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 8th month of de-stashing!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Terry posted our September challenge--Use Washi Tape.   I have a drawer full of washi tape and use it sparingly.  So, this was a great challenge for me!  I used a bicycle washi tape to cover the entire back of my card and then used a bicycle die for the focal point.

Here is the inside of my card, using more Washi tape.

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today or in the next day or so.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSSEP.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For October, Jody is up and I cannot wait to see her challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

For this card, I used a great fall stamp set called Autumn's CallingThis set comes with 5 sentiment stamps and 4 individual leaves.  I think this is a wonderful set to use in the fall season.  Though, it does not feel like fall in Wisconsin as the temps have been in the 80's all week--in mid-September!

Warning--Learning in Progress

It is the third Wednesday of the month and that means a Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card!  The 3 Musketeers (Jeanette, Kelly and me) are back with another challenge this month--our fifth month of this!

I decided on our challenge for September. That month is always back to school, for me at least... so think of your favorite subject in school or even your favorite teacher. It could be grade school or high school or even college. Design a card that reflects your favorite school subject or describes or highlights your favorite teacher.

Many of you know that I am a retired teacher, so this is a special post for me.  I remember my first grade teacher, Mrs. Crass and my third grade teacher, Mrs. Kloss as two of my favorites. I became a Physical Education teacher for the opposite reason as I had a "not the best" PE teacher in high school and I decided to become a teacher to not be like her!  I taught elementary and high school Physical Education in a small school--30 some in each grade--in NW Wisconsin for 3+ years.  I then taught high school Health and Physical Education along with being the Athletic Director at a high school in SW Wisconsin for 33 years!

This card honors ALL teachers:

Here is the inside of my card:

Please be sure to check out the other Ready, Set, Go cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's post as she got a bit confused and posted last week, along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card and that you might too!  Jeanette is up for the next theme, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd Wednesday in October!
