Hope & Peace

Today is the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card.  This is card number 12 and we are well into year #2. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success started with Kelly and the general theme is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a group of 6 and we will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other 5 members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For this month's messiness,  I picked one of a few backgrounds I made the day before when I used Ken Oliver's Color Burst. The colors I picked were Violet, Ultramarine Blue and Pthalo Green and I used Fabriano Artistico Cold Press Watercolour Paper.  The other two backgrounds were orange and yellows, but I picked this as it reminded me of Northern Lights. A few days ago, we were to be able to see them in Wisconsin, but with all of the lights and added Christmas lights, we did not get a view.  I then picked die set that I thought was perfect for the colors and this time of year from Impression Obsession Hope & Peace.  I cut three of each the words and the ampersand-then layered them on top of each other for added dimension.  A few Stampin' Up Blue Adhesive Gems are the final touch!

Here is the inside of my card, with a strip watercolored paper.

Here are the links to the other members of Hot Mess ~ Success.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry'sKelly's , Carol's and Darlene's blogs. I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy and was successful in making some great cards!   We will all be back each year in 2021, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on January 12th.

Stamp What-Silent Night

Today is 12th month of the Stamp What? challenge with the three collaborators you have seen many times in the past--Kelly, Jeanette and me! Kelly came up with the challenge to randomly pick a Stampin' Up set and make a card with that set.  Get the dust off of those forgotten Stampin' Up sets!

I decided when this group challenge started to only use the wooden Stampin' Up stamps that are on my bottom shelves.  So this month, I randomly picked a Christmas set called Silent Night!  This is also an older set as the year 2005 is on the box.  It is also one of my favorite Christmas sets from any company and I might have made a few cards from the set!

I decided I wanted to try some of the numerous embossing powders I have on this card.  I picked Night of Navy as the base color and use a few different colors--clear, black, white, silver, and some with sparkle.  I also was a able to toss out a few tubs as they did not stick at all.  The one I highlighted as a single card was using black embossing powder.  I add a layer of black glossy cardstock behind the image and behind the card front.  I used glossy cardstock on all of the other cards too.  I also embossing the card layer base with a few different embossing folders for a bit of dimension.  I did not add any thing else as an embellishment, as I wanted the image to be the focal point!

I like the look of my card this month and I hope you do too.  Be sure to check out Jeanette and Kelly's cards.  I am sure they have some fun cards with those "oldies but goodies" stamp sets by Stampin' Up!  And, we will continue in 2021, so we will be dusting off more of our stamp sets!

Tiny Wise Men

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the fun image that Jeanette sent for December--for Card #76!  That means we are in year #6--can you believe that?  All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a long time!  Jeanette is also up for the January challenge as we are mixing up the months to not have the same in 2021.  Yes, we will be back in 2021--stay tuned for another year of fun!!!  Be sure to come back to see what we create!

For our card this month, Jeanette sent out this sweet image from CC Designs  called Tiny Wise Men! I think it is so cute and I love the expressions on the faces of these guys!

I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers. I picked some "royal" colors for each of the wise men.  I fussy cut the image and layered it over white cardstock and gold foil, die cut from Gina Marie Designs Stitched Squares.  The patterned paper is from K&C, called Holiday Stripes. I added some gold twine and a bow under the sentiment, that is from the same stamp set.  I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Here is the inside of my card:

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  They may post today or tomorrow, so be sure to check out their blogs for their card!   As I mentioned before, Jeanette is also up for our January challenge.  Please be sure to join us again.

Celebrate with Stars!

This is my December Crafters of Faith card.  This is a great group that my friend Kelly started on SCS and we are ending our 5th year.  Jeanette is the hostess this month and gave everyone this challenge:

Scripture:   Matthew 2:10 When they [the Wise Men] saw the star, they were overjoyed beyond measure.

Challenge:
For this month’s challenge let’s add a star (or stars) to our cards/projects.

I recently bought three new dies from Creative Expressions and picked this one to use this month.  The die is called Celebrate Edger and I cut it from a piece of Glitter Cardstock.  I then layered over a piece of Lawn Fawn Let It Snow Patterned Paper. I did not add any additional embellishments as I love the look of just the edger and the patterned paper!  I really like the look of this card!

Here is the inside of my card, with a strip of washi tape:

I hope Jeanette and the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month!  We are to post between the 7th and 10th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too!  I do think we are continuing in 2021, so I do plan to be back to continue my posts.

Final Big Grumpy of 2020

This is card #12 for my December One + 12 card!  This is a very fun, monthly challenge
with Kelly and Jeanette to use one stamp only, each month, for one + 12!  For 2020, I used my Taylored Expressions image called Big Grumpy.  I am able to add one of the coordinating sentiments from the set.  I think he is a hoot!

This month I am getting ready for 2021!  For my final card, the sentiment is from Big Grumpy Farewell 2020 Sentiment Set.  I colored Big Grumpy with my Copic Sketch Markers and used the matching die to cut him out. This sentiment is perfect to end 2020--I do want to be sure to ring in 2021!!!!!  The
background paper is from Pebbles Just Married Stripe and I also have a layer of gold foil--for a bit of sparkle and shine!  I added a few gold sequins.  I have made a few New Year cards with these funny sentiments and will be mailing some at the end of 2020 to my friends!

Here is the inside of my card:

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards.  Here are links to Jeanette's and Kelly's blogs. I am sure you have enjoy checking out the one stamp set each of them picked for 2020 and will see a couple of great cards! Leaves are Leaving!

Today is the day after the 28th and I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 76th month of de-stashing-we are coming to the end of 4th year of our challenges.

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Pansy posted our November challenge--Theme is leaves and leaving.  Implied or direct action on leaves leaving or a scenic sort of leaves and something leaving.

I picked a Taylored Expressions stamp and stencil combo called Modern Tree.  I first stamped the tree in the middle of my piece of cardstock.  I then used each of the three stencils and lined them up with the trunk and used my Taylored Expressions blender brushes to blend the inks.  The three colors I used were Candy Corn, Pineapple and Mulled Wine.  I picked a sentiment from the same stamp set. I added some linen thread for the final touch!

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSNOV.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For December, Suzy is up.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

This is a card I made for a recent sketch challenge.  I used two older Stampin' Up sets--Gently Falling for the leaf and Day of Gratitude for the sentiment. I used the layering circle dies to cut the image and added some linen thread behind the scallop circle.  The patterned paper is also an older retired set from Stampin' Up called Orchard Harvest.

He Sees You!

This is my card for November's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month. This is the 6th month of our new round--join me through the rest of 2020 and into 2021.

Suzy stepped in as the hostess this month and she gave us a choice of two sketches to use for our card.  She also said it needed to be a Christmas theme with an animal.  I picked Big Grumpy Cat and added the Big Grumpy Christmas stamp sets and the matching dies, both from Taylored Expressions. I colored the images with my Copic Sketch Markers and added some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle on the white parts of the hat!   The sketch I picked was SC607 and I showcased some of the fun patterned paper in a 6x6 pack from Gina K Designs called Winter Whimsey.  I added a velvet bow as the final touch for this colorful card.

Here is the inside of my card:

The Creative Card Chicks are to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars, you may see more of these wonderful creations!  Many of our members also post their card in our SCS thread--so you might find more there.  We take December off so be sure to come back and join us again in January with an image that I am going to send out.
