Umbrellas Mean Spring is Near

It is the 15thof the month and that means we get to show off another Dueling Darlings challenge. Laura Jean and Terry are the Darlings who came up with the challenge and theme for the teams this month.  LJ is a Divas and Terry is one of the Dazzlers.

These are the details that Laura Jean sentIt is time for the March Duel!  Like most of you (except our friend Kelly who lives in Miami), I am so ready for spring and summer.  One of the many signs of spring is rain and umbrellas, and as March is "National Umbrella Month" we are going with an umbrella theme this month.
I really like all of the papers that LJ sent--they were from a Cosmo Cricket line that I had not seen before.  Birds and mushrooms and Gingko leaves and fun shapes!  Laura Jean also sent a manila folder and asked us to use it as a base.  I struggled with a design with the folder, so I decided to use a punch I have to make a background for the sentiment that looks like a file folder to me.  Hope that is OK..................

Valentine Defined ~ Jennifer's Card Kit

I am back to share a card with you that I created from a kit I received last month from Jennifer.  This project is a "card of the month kit" that was just started by Jeanette on SCS. Each month, one of the ladies will receive a kit from each of the other participants.  There are 11 of us in the group, so each person will get 10 different card kits the month they are "up"!  Well--I was up first--for February.  We get all of the kits by the end of the month and then we have the next two months to create a card.

Jennifer sent many sweet items to use to make Valentine Cards.  She sent the kit around Valentine's Day, so now I have this one, plus I am sure a few others to be made with the extra supplies, for 2015.

Here is the inside of my card:

Card Kit #1 ~ Kelly's I (Heart) U

I am excited to share a card with you that I created from a kit I received last month from Kelly. Kelly's package was the first to arrive--so I decided to make and post her card first.

Kelly sent so many sweet items to use for a loving card--all kinds of pinks and reds and hearts and great papers and cool embellishments and many fun things to make this card as well as a few more in the future!

I used 4 of the designer papers that Kelly sent on the card--one for the large background at the top and three more in the rectangles at the bottom. Then all of the embellishments--pink flowers with a big brad in the middle, bakers twine and a string of rhinestones.  And--I have an entire baggie of left overs--ribbon, more brads, clips, buttons and more buttons!

Here is the inside of my card:
