Crafters of Faith ~ He is Risen

Today is the last day of the month and I am here to welcome you to my Crafters of Faith card! The Crafters of Faith blogging group is a joyous blending of Christian friends ~ joined together to fellowship, share our faith, build friendships and craft together!

This is our March Challenge—as posed by Jeanette:

Since we will be posting on Easter Sunday – March 31 – and since we are Crafters of Faith, I’d like us to create a religious-themed Easter card. No Easter bunnies and such, but instead a card that focuses on the Risen Lord! It can include Scripture and/or images, but needs to focus on the religious aspect of the holiday.

He is not here; he has risen! (Luke 24:6)

I have a few Easter stamps, but this is one of my favorites.  I have not used it for a few years--so I thought it was time to give it a nod.   I wanted the image to be the highlight of this card, so the only added embellishment was a ribbon.  I did use a white gel pen over the lilies so they would be brighter.

Here is the inside of my card:

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you do check out the other new creations from the wonderful ladies in the Crafters of Faith group! The blog list is on the left side--please check out all of the cards.

Joys of Easter

This is for the monthly swap that Pam hosts on SCS.  Each month we make 10 swap cards and they can be any theme.  All of the swappers are wonderful and I have gotten some awesome cards back in past months.

This month I went with an Easter theme and I wish you a Blessed Easter tomorrow!

I think this is one of the rare cards where I did not use any ribbon--but I liked the simple look of just the sentiment and the brads.

Calendar Girls ~ Old School

It is the 28th of the month, so I am here to welcome you to another round with the Calendar Girls!

Who are the Calendar Girls? We are a group of bloggers who want to have a place where friendships blossom, creativity abounds, and encouragement prevails! In keeping with that dream, this blog group has been created so we will have a place to interact and enjoy being fellow bloggers.

Tami is our hostess this month and true to her previous challenges--she made this month interesting..................  This is what she wrote for us to follow:
Um, I hope I do not hurt anyone's feelings here but we are all a little bit of paper hoarders!!!

Well, we are going to have to give up the security blanket for March. I would like to see your best created card with NO designer paper. *gasp*.....*thud* {I think J just hit the floor}.

So go ahead and grab your 'old school stamps' - yep, like a set you have not used in years - and create a card for the Calendar Girls.

Oh, and let's try to keep in theme with 'use what'cha got', please no new purchases for this round. Use what'cha got...well, everything but designer paper that is!

I cannot wait to see what my friends come up with. It is always something to look forward to!

This was a fun card for me to make.  First--not using designer paper is a bit of a challenge for me--however I did go "old school" and used a background stamp and heat embossed the background.  Gasp--I do not remember the last time I did this!  I did not use an "old stamp"--but I did use a stamp that was not a new purchase as it was gifted to me by one of our own calendar girls Kelly.  She remembered that I played saxophone in high school and when she saw this set in a store, she thought of me and bought it to send to me.  I love the stamp set! So--since I played saxophone back in high school--I think that fits as "old school"...............................  Right Jeanette!

This is the first of the two swap cards that I made for Sarah’s recent PTI-PaperTrey Ink Swap she posted on SCS.   This was for the spring category.  I love this PTI set as I got it free--well kind of....................  It was free when I spent I think $100 at the CHA Convention a few years ago in Chicago!

Now--if only spring would come to Wisconsin.  Temps are in the 20's and 30's for the next week or so.  Last year we had 70's and 80's this week.  I would just like to split the difference!

Selma and Gladys ~ Bathing Beauties!

This card is for a Mystery Swap on SCS. A group of us are doing a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess. This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette and we are now in our second cycle--and this is the 23rd card I have made for this ongoing swap.  Carol chose this image and will swap the cards--then send us the next image, provided by Melina! I can't wait to get the swap cards back to see how everyone else used the same image. And then we get to do it all again!!!!

The image and the additional sentiments just crack me up!   I have been smiling and even laughing out loud most of the time I was working on this card. I hope Carol as well as the others in the swap like it also.   And--I know Tami will love the flip-flop brads!

I wanted to use all three of the sentiments--so one also went inside.

Dueling Darlings Blessings

It is the 15thof the month and that means another Dueling Darlings challenge.  Since it is St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday, our hostesses Kadie for the Darlings and April for the Dazzlers went with that theme.  We were to create a card of blessing as we are all blessed to be a part of this wonderful group.

We are to also share a recent RAK we have initiated or been the recipient of.  I am a member of the Birthday RAK on SCS-so I sent out around 20 birthday cards each month to other RAK members.  I also can say that I have received a RAK card from pretty much every member of the Dueling Darlings and that makes my heart sing!

I love the vintage look of the papers and embellishments that Kadie sent--I wanted to use all of it....................  but I have lots left for more cards in the future!

Here is the inside of my card and Kadie supplied us with the Celtic Blessing!
