Show-Stopping Sentiments

I am continuing to work through the pouches with classes from the Fall SCT Crop and Create Delivered event. Today I am showing the three cards from the Taylored Expressions Class.

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This class was called Show-Stopping Sentiments and was taught by the talented Taylor VanBruggen

We received two stencils for the class.  One was a set of 4 stencils called Play on  Words and we also got 3 coordinating dies for each of the words.  The second stencil is called Busting Dots.  I know I will use both of these often in the future as the words are so fun!

I have just 2 pouches left and hope to be done by the end of this year.  Then, I need to tackle some of the Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect events I too have pouches on my bookcase!

Gold and Glimmer!

It is time for another Hot Mess card and this is card number 5.   The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success started with Kelly making a card and using the #hotmess on her Instagram post.  The general theme is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a group of 4--Terry, Jeanette, Kelly and me. We will post a card each month on the 12th. Some times there is a theme-like this month.  And, other times we just get creative and messy!

For this month's messiness, Kelly issued a challenge.  Make a card by using gold or silver with sparkle or glimmer.  I used Gina K Designs Gold Glitz Glitter Gel and a great stencil from TCW called Mini Sheet Music for the background. I love the texture of the Glitz and the musical pattern is so fun--perfect for Christmas Card!  I added the sentiment from Stampabilities O Holy Night as it is one of my absolute favorite Christmas Carols!

Here is the inside of my card, with a Christmas sentiment:

Here are the links to the other members of Hot Mess ~ Success.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's and Kelly's blogs. I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy and was successful in making some great cards!   We will all be back each month, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on January 12th!

Stencil Me In!

Today is the day I post a project for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 31st month of de-stashing-we are well into our 3rd year into our challenges.

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Kelly posted our August challenge--Stencil Me In!  Use a stencil somewhere on your card!

I have gotten a few stencils in the past few months as they seem to be quite popular right now.  This one is Diamond Circles, by Simon Says Stamp.  I used two colors of Nuvo Mousse--Coral Calypso and Orange Blush--though it does not show much color difference.  I am really enjoying using various techniques with stencils!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today or in the next few days.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSAUG.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For September, Suzy is up and we already know our fun theme.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

Stencil and Color

This is the 22nd week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. June is "try a new technique" challenge.  Every Tuesday I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge. This is the second card for June!

I made this card using a Gina K Designs stencil called Water Droplets.  I have seen many beautiful cards in the past few months using stencils and I picked up a few last month at the Stamp Expo in Milwaukee.  Gina K was at the Craft Fancy booth, so I got to see her demo some of these cards.  I also used some of the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks that I have had for awhile, but not used.  This challenge is also becoming "use what you have"!  I have more stencils to try out, so this is just a start!

We also did a window washing project at church two weeks ago, and I need some thank you cards to send out to those who helped. I love this stamp for those who volunteer their time and efforts!  I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope you will stop back each Tuesday to see my creation for my A Card a Week Challenge!  June is "try a new technique" month--so be sure to check back to see what new techniques I will be showing off!
