Scarecrow

Today is the 9th of the month and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. This round, Jeanette is the hostess and sent out a cute scarecrow image from The Stamps of Life called Scarecrow 2.  She included one image that was on a full panel and two additional images that were die cut.  Jeanette also included 2 sentiments from the same set.   For September this is card #133 and we are now in year #12!  I cannot believe this trio has been going strong for 12 strong years!

I colored one of the die cut scarecrow images with my Copic Sketch Markers. I then picked the Spellbinders Embossing Folder called Oak Forest for my background and used a panel of Copper Metallic cardstock from The Paper Cut.  I used a pair of old Stampin' Up tag punches to cut the one of the sentiments and a black backer.   I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of cute cards!  Kelly is up for our October challenge, so please be sure to join us again.

The Stamp Market

Here we are--this is the Double Duty Day!  This is the 44th month, so we are in our 4th year!  WOW--4 years of making two cards with the same stamp from different companies each month!

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For August, the company we decided on is The Stamp Market.  This is a rather new company and I think I was introduced to them during one of the virtual events held in the last few years.  I picked a set called Easter Joy and it is a stamp set with a matching die. I also used the Bunny Ears die set.

For both cards, I heat embossed the words Easter Joy and then die cut with the coordinating die. I then die cut the Bunny Ears in white and pink.  Both cards have a background panel behind the ears and words!

For this pink card, I embossed the Easter Joy words on Taylored Expressions Pink Champagne cardstock with clear embossing powder.  The background is Brass & Bliss Wood Plank Panel Background Plate.  The bunny ears are in the corner with the words centered.  I then added some Stampin' Up white pearls around words.

For the white card, I used white embossing powder on Blushing Bride cardstock. I added a white panel die cut from a Pinkfresh Studio plate called Simply Diamonds.  I added foam tape behind the panel and placed it on Blushing Bride. The bunny ears are in the middle, right under the words.  I added some Pinkfresh Studio Glacier Jewels on the Blushing Bride, between the diamonds.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards. Here is a link to Jeanette'sDarlene’s  and  Carol's blogs.   I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards.

Next month we will highlight a favorite of all of us, Gina K Designs.   So be sure to check out our cards on September 22nd!

Happy May Day!

Today I am showing you some cards I made in the past few days from the SCT-Scrapbook and Cards Today Crop and Create Delivered.  This was an awesome virtual card making event that happened a month ago and I was not able to watch all of the classes from the three days.  These are my cards from 3 of Saturday's Classes--Gina K Designs, Hero Arts and The Stamp Market.

These 3 cards were from the Gina's fun class using the Daisies Forever Layering Stencil Bundle, made by Gina K Designs.  The bundle includes two stencils, a set of stamps and coordinating dies. We did a woodgrain effect on the background of the yellow flowers along with the same effect on the teal flowers.  I used my Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes along with my Pinkfresh Studios ink cues.  These sure are fun cards to make.

These fun fold cards were from the class taught by Libby and Hero Arts. She put together a special stamp set called SCT Sampler Set that includes images and sentiments from some of her favorite Hero Art stamp sets--how fun!  I then bought the matching dies for each of these sets.  The sets are Coloring Layering Bunny, Color Layering Cherries and Artichoke Blooms.  They are fun sets and it will be nice to be able to make more cards in the future!

These three cards were inspired by Amy from The Stamp Market.  We used the Friendly Hellos Stamp, Stencil and Die set.  These colorful cards were fun to make, though I did not follow Amy's direction on a couple of them.  I love the layers and the dimension.

I also completed Jenn's Lawn Fawn class, but the cards are on my stamp desk drying.  I will post them later this week. I am now ready to tackle the 4 Sunday classes. It is so easy to follow along as I can stop and start the video as needed.  This is such an awesome event and I am going to do it all again in October!

Thanks for stopping my my blog and checking out my cards!
