Thanksgiving

This is my November Crafters of Faith card, I mean cards!  This is a sweet group on SCS that Faye hosts.  Lisa is hostess this month and gave everyone this challenge:

Scripture:   Psalms 136:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever.

Challenge: Make a card showing thankfulness, or use Thanksgiving as the theme.

I needed to make Thanksgiving cards for my Human Concerns Team at my church.  We give grocery gift cards to 24 families from our sister church in Milwaukee and I make the cards for mailing.  I love this sentiment stamp and have used it many years in the past. I inked the Paper Inspirations Thanksgiving Calligraphy with my Taylored Expressions Chocolate Truffle ink.  The patterned paper is from Heritage Makers and Our Memories for Life called Thanksgiving!  I added some brown ribbon and gold sequins for the final touches.

I hope you and the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month! We are to post on the 7th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too!  Sharon has our December challenge, so be sure to check back!

One Day Late!

Today is not the third Wednesday of the month, but it is my Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card! For the second month in a row, I am late............  The 3 of us, Kelly, Jeanette and me, are back with another challenge for October, our 54th month!  That means we are into year #5 for us.

And--just a note about 2022.  We will not be continuing this challenge next year--we will be ending this as 5 1/2 years of cards!  There have been some great cards made over this time and some very fun challenges too!   This is the last challenge that Kelly will provide for us and it is a good one!

Kelly provided the challenge for us this month: My Santa Wishlist

Nope.  Not A Santa image with a wish list! YOUR wish list

Please create a card that shares with us something that you are dreaming of or longing for. Are you hoping for a vacation?  A new car? Some new stamp toys?  Peace and quiet?  Whatever reflects your heart’s desires, let your card reflect what you are wishing for.

Ready Set Go!

Yes- I do have a few items on my wish list. I just did buy a new car and pick up Bebe on Saturday.  So, that is checked off!  Vacation?  We have canceled our Ireland trip twice and the tentative plan is to go in May--hoping.........  New Stamp Toys?  I think I am set for awhile, but I am sure there will be something I need!  I decided that what I am really, really, really wishing for is a "normal"  Thanksgiving as we did not celebrate with our families in last year. We spend Thanksgiving day with my family in a Chicago suburb and then travel to Chicago on Friday for a celebration with Rebecca's family. None of that happened in 2021 and even though we have seen all of our family members during the summer at  various times, nothing compares to the Thanksgiving get togethers!   I love Thanksgiving--all of the food, the fun, the football and the blessings for the past and future!  Bring it on!

Back to my card--I picked 2 older, wood mounted Whipper Snapper stamps about Thanksgiving.  Neither have a name on them and I looked on the site and they are not there--so yes they are older.................  I colored the turkey with my Copic Sketch Markers and fussy cut him out.  I also colored in a couple of the letters of the sentiment.  The background paper is from Heritage Makers and is in the Thanksgiving package.  I added a few orange enamel dots for the final touch.

Please be sure to check out the other Ready, Set, Go cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card. I is up for the next theme, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd Wednesday in November.  Pressure is on as it will be my last theme for this challenge!

Body Parts Highlighted-Slimming Stripes!

Today is the third Wednesday of the month and this is my Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card! The 3 of us, Kelly, Jeanette and me, are back with another challenge for April, our 48th month!  That means this month is the start of year #5 for us--WOW!

Kelly provided the challenge for us this month: Body Parts!Last year, I had news that I needed  medical hip surgery.  Although I was bummed, I turned that frown upside down by thinking - let's make the best of it and have some fun with body parts!  Sometimes they bend and breakor need to be repaired.   Good thing we have an entire rest of our bodies to lean on!

Your challenge this month is to create a card using a (as in one, SINGLE) body part. You may chose any stamp company/image you like but it can only show one body part. And because we're creative and often use the rule of 3's, let's take it up a notch!  Your body part can only be on 1/3 of the card!  The other 2/3 of the space you can use however you like, or not at all, and use whatever papers, EF, techniques, etc., you like. You may also include one sentiment. Think outside the box, get as creative as you like and most of all, have fun - now let's get Ready, Set, GO!

Hummmmmmmmmmmmm.  Another great challenge that had me thinking!   I knew I had a Santa image sticking out of a chimney, but I did not want to highlight a butt as the body part!   I then thought of this cut witch image from Endless Creations-a local company in Green Bay, Wisconsin. So--here are legs as a body part!    I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.   I paper pieced her skirt with some Memories for Life Frightful & Furry patterned paper--vertical stripes are very slimming!  The background is a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder called Spiderweb.  The sentiment is from a Paper Pumpkin kit, but not sure of the name.  I did not meet the requirement of the image only taking 1/3 of my card--visualize a mini slimline and then it works!

Here is the inside of my card, with the same slimming stripes!

Please be sure to check out the other Ready, Set, Go cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card. I am  up for the next theme, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd Wednesday in May.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! Today I am showing you a card I made with a fun Unity Itty Bitty stamp set called Creepy, Spooky & Scary.  How did they know that sentiment is perfect for 2020?!

I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I then die cut the image with Gina Marie Designs Square Double Frame.  I then cut another frame from black and carefully lined the image up in the frame.  Tip-you have to find the correct side as they are not all the same!  I layered the both image and black frame over a piece of striped Halloween patterned paper from Our Memories For Life Frightful & Furry paper pack.  A few orange enamel dots are the final touch!

Here is the inside of my card:

I like this card and hope you too.

Happy Birthday Alice

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the image that Kelly sent for October--for Card #62!  That means we nearing the end of year #5--can you believe that?!  All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a long time!  Jeanette will be up next for the November challenge.  Be sure to come back to see what we create!

For our card this month, Kelly sent us this Neat and Tangled image called Piece of Cake.  This sweet image is honoring Kelly's granddaughter who recently turned one!

I loved coloring up this large image with my Copic Markers and wanted to let the image shine for itself on the card.  I used only one color of cardstock along with a piece of subtle patterned paper from the Party Brights pack from Heritage Makers-Our Memories for Life.  I added some Wink of Stella on the icing.  I layered the sentiment that Kelly sent over the image as I wanted it on the front!  I hope you enjoy my card!

Here is the inside of my card:

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  They may post today or tomorrow, so be sure to check out their blogs for their card!

Love and Hearts!

Today is the day I post a project for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 26th month of de-stashing-we are now into our 3rd year into our challenges.

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Shelly posted our February challenge--Use a Heart and and the word Love!

I used a stamp that I am not sure has ever been inked up.  I also grabbed one of my favorite patterned paper packs by Heritage Makers-Our Memories for Life called Love Collection.  I love all of the patterns and there are quite a few with hearts!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today or in the next few days.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSFEB.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For March, Barbara is up and we will find out our theme soon.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

Country Home and Foil!

This card is for the monthly swap that Pam hosts on SCS.  Each month we make 10 cards and include a matching envelope.  They can be any theme for any month.  All of the swappers are wonderful and I have received awesome cards each and every month.

I inked a couple of stamps from the Stampin' Up Country Home set that got last fall.  I added some of the new Stampin' Up copper foil--love it!   I think everyone can use a thank you card!

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope Pam and the others swappers like my card this month!

Happy Golden Anniversary

This card is for a Mystery Swap on SCS. A group of us do a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess. This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette and we are now in our 50th round!  Hence--the heading--Happy Golden Anniversary!  Laura Jean is our hostess this month and she sent everyone this sweet image--for a Valentine card or a friendship card!  She will swap the cards and send everyone the next image, which Terry picked out! We then get to do it all again, for round #51, in March!
Here is the inside of my card:

I hope all of the mystery swappers like my card.  If you check my sidebar on the left, you might see some other swappers who have posted their cards today or a few days ago as the due date was the 18th.
