Reindeer Wishes

This is my card for a swap called the SIS--Surprise Image Swap.   This is card #12 for our group.  It is a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The surprise part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--the 18th of every other month.   The image for this round was provided by Terry.  She will swap the cards and include the new image for round #13 that I stamp in everyone's return envie. Then--we do it all again in February!  We have completed one round and now are on to another one!

Terry sent everyone this sweet image from Simon Says Stamp called Oh, Deer!  She included the coordinating sentiment too. I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers. I die cut the image and backer with Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2.  I picked a snowflake Patterned Paper from Teresa Collins called Christmas Cottage. I die cut the snowflake layer and the backing layer from the same Master Layouts 2.   The backer and the flag banner are Opal Mirricard from The Paper Cut.  Again, using Master Layouts 2, I did cut the sentiment for more stitching.  I added some red enamel dots and a bit of Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen on his nose for the final touch

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations.  The due date is today, the 18th, or they may post in the upcoming days. You can also check out SCS and use the keyword SIS12 to see some posted there.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

Mr. Frosty is Here

Today is the 9th and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the sweet Creative Expressions Mr. Frosty image that Kelly sent out for our December card, #112! That means we into year number 10 with this fun challenge! 10 YEARS--WOW!!!!! All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a long time! And, we will be back in 2024!

Kelly did note that this is a rather large image, but I sure love that it fills up the entire card front!  I colored Mr. Frosty with my Copic Sketch Markers. I decided that I did not want any bling, but I did need a bit of sparkle.  I took a Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen in Black and went over the black hat and brim for the shine, though you cannot see it in the picture.  The image is layered on a piece of black glossy for a bit more shine and sparkle!    I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  Jeanette is up for our January challenge.   Please be sure to join us again.

Honey Bee Catch Up

Today is the last day of April and I am posting a set of cards for our newer challenge--Catch-up Club!  A few of my SCS and stamping friends, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry along with myself, have signed up for a number of virtual stamping events in the past 2 1/2 years.  One of the benefits of these events are that they are available to rewatch or even watch for the first time at a later date as they are all recorded. The 4 of us "try" to watch live and chat by texting during the event.  But, life steps in and there are times when one or more of us are not participating during the live.  Then, the kits from sponsors sits in our stamping area until we are ready to watch the video and create.  During one of the events, we decided we needed to push ourselves (and each other) to get some of these events done!   So--we all decided to devote one day a month, the last day of the month for the procrastinators that we are, to post cards we missed making.  So--here we are in our 6th month of The Catch Up Club!

These three cards are a bit of a stretch for The Catch Up Club, but they are cards that have been sitting in a bin next to my desk for almost a month.  About 4 weeks ago, I hosted the No Foolin' Retreat and we all did a shoebox swap among all of the participants. I made a few extra kits, so I decided to empty the bin and make the last 3 kits.

The kit used the Stampin' Up Honey Bee Home stamp set and the coordinating Honey Bee Bloom die set. The background is a Taylored Expressions Honeycomb embossing folder and the hexagons are Gina Marie Designs Stitched Hexagon dies. I did change up the sentiments from the original kit--these are from a Gina K Designs stamp set.  Copic Markers were used to color the images and some Spectrum Noir Sparkle was used on the wings of each of the bees.   Taylored Expressions Bits & Pieces Black Rhinestones were the final touch!  One more bin emptied!

I hope you enjoyed my cards!  Here are the links to the other of the Catch Up Club.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, and Darlene's blogs.  They may post today or tomorrow, but we have all promised to post cards that we have missed the making along the way!

He Sees You!

This is my card for November's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month. This is the 6th month of our new round--join me through the rest of 2020 and into 2021.

Suzy stepped in as the hostess this month and she gave us a choice of two sketches to use for our card.  She also said it needed to be a Christmas theme with an animal.  I picked Big Grumpy Cat and added the Big Grumpy Christmas stamp sets and the matching dies, both from Taylored Expressions. I colored the images with my Copic Sketch Markers and added some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle on the white parts of the hat!   The sketch I picked was SC607 and I showcased some of the fun patterned paper in a 6x6 pack from Gina K Designs called Winter Whimsey.  I added a velvet bow as the final touch for this colorful card.

Here is the inside of my card:

The Creative Card Chicks are to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars, you may see more of these wonderful creations!  Many of our members also post their card in our SCS thread--so you might find more there.  We take December off so be sure to come back and join us again in January with an image that I am going to send out.

Red Nose!

It is the 15th of the month and that means I am showing you a new Dueling Darlings card. We are in our 10th year of these duels as we started in August of 2010-so awesome!  For our November Challenge, Carol and Shelly are the hostesses. Shelly is a Dazzler and Carol is a Diva--same as me!   And we are all Dueling Darlings!

The theme for November is Red Nose!  Carol sent us some fun reindeer images from the CC Designs Reindeer Games set. I colored this little cutie with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I added some Spectrum Noir Glitter Pen over the part of the hat for more shimmer!  I layered the image over a sweet piece of red foil and some holiday plaid patterned paper that Carol sent along.   I added a strip of the shiny silver ribbon under the "Sparkly Wishes" sentiment in the kit.  I added a few rhinestones for a bit more sparkle!  This was fun card kit to play with--thanks Carol!

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope all of the Darlings enjoy my card this month. Please be sure to stop in to see what all of the Divas as well the Dazzlers have created this month. We take December off, so I will be back in January of 2021.  We will have a new group name as we are reorganizing--stay tuned for more details on January 15th!

There are a few members who do not have blogs: Suzy and LJ who are on the Diva team and Debby and
Terry S who are Dazzlers. You will be able to check out their creations in their SCS gallery, if you click on the link for their name.  All of the others should be found on my left sidebar.  I am sure you will enjoy all of the wonderful creations this month!

Bring It On!

It is the final Tuesday in July and time again for my A Card A Week Challenge!  The theme is Christmas in July.  I love making Christmas Cards, so this is a perfect theme.

I have a number of winter stamps from Whipper Snapper Designs.  The home store is about 15 minutes from my house and I have spent a bit of time, and money in the past!  This week and last week, I picked two of my favorite wooden stamps.  This week it is Bring It On and colored it with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I truly think this is one of the first WSD I ever bought!  Since it is so large, I made a square card 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.    I then layered it and used a corner rounded for an added touch.   I used some winter patterned paper that I had in my scrap drawer and added a strip of Pink Grosgrain Ribbon. And, the final touch, some sparkle from my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen on the snow and his sweet face!

Here is the inside of my card:

I like this card and hope you do too.  I hope you will stop back next week to see what the new theme is for August!

Baby It's Cold Outside

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the image that I sent for December--for Card #64!  That means we nearing the end of year #5--can you believe that?  All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a long time!  Kelly is up next for the January challenge.  Be sure to come back to see what we create!

For our card this month, I sent out this sweet image by Taylored Expressions from the set called Baby It's Cold Outside!  I also included a variety of the sentiments that are also included in the set.

I loved coloring up this image with my Copic Markers and added some shine on the trees with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.  I die cut the Frostyville Frame, made by Memory Box, from Twilight Mirri Sparkle Paper from The Paper Cut.  I added a few white glimmer dots around the frame.  I hope you enjoy my card!

Here is the inside of my card with one of the sentiments, die cut with Stampin' Up's Stitched Nested Labels:

Merry and Bright

This is my card for October's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month.

Joyce is the hostess this month and sent everyone some Christmas images for us to pick from. She also sent some great patterned paper along with other cute embellishments. Joyce wanted us to get a head start on our Christmas Cards.  I colored the stocking image with my Copic Markers and added some Spectrum Sparkle-white to the cuff and clear over the body of the stocking.

Here is the inside of my card, with some of the washi tape Joyce sent:

The Creative Card Chicks are to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars, you may see more of these wonderful creations! Halloween ~ Scary or Cute?

This is my card for the October Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 10th month of de-stashing!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Jody posted our October challenge--Halloween--scary or cute?   Jody mentioned that she has a disagreement with her son about how to decorate for Halloween.  So--we were to create a card that represents how we decorate for Halloween in our home.  I guess you can see, I am on the Cute Side!  I do have a number of Halloween stamps, so more of a challenge was to decide which one to use--so of course I pick Whipper Snapper Designs!  There is a bit of sparkle on his nose and cheeks, along with some black sparkle on the spider!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today or in the next day or so.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSOCT.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For November, Vickie is up and I cannot wait to see her challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

Hat-Bee Birthday

This is the card for the 31st round of the Unidentified Image swap on SCS.  It is a group of ladies who are a part of a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The unidentified part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--that is today!   The image for this round was provided by me.  I will swap the cards and include the next image that Darlene, our next hostess in their return envie.  And then we get to do it all again--for round #32--in June!

Yes, I did sent a Whipper Snapper Design image that just makes me giggle.  There have been many colors used on the hats on the cards that I have received--that is one of the things that makes this swap so fun!

I used my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Clear Glitter Pen on his nose and the wings, to make them glimmer a bit.

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations today or in the next few days.  I hope everyone in the swap liked my image and that you and like my card!
