Autumn Wheelbarrow

Today is the 15th and this is my card for our The Creative Crew!  We are a group of 7 and all one team--Jeanette, Carol, Darlene, Lorraine, Terry, Tracie and me. Each month will be a new challenge posed by one of the members sending out a kit.  This month is the start of the second round for our group.  Jeanette gave us a challenge this month to use our own supplies to create something you (I) love.  It might be a favorite stamp company, a favorite color scheme or embellishment, spending time in nature, grandchildren, etc.  I decided to go with my favorite time of year--Fall!

I love all of the colors of fall and I like the crisp fall air.  It also means that Thanksgiving is on the way and that is my favorite family holiday!  I also enjoy taking walks and hikes in the fall with the leaves under my feet and many times, falling all around when hiking.  I also like exchanging my polo shirts in the main closet with the pullovers from the spare bedroom closet--and even putting my birks away and pulling out my fuzzy slippers!

I picked a sweet image from Great Impressions, but it does not have a name on it.  The old wooden wheelbarrow filled with pumpkins and leaves all around is such a quintessential autumn image! I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut with with a Spellbinders Label 8 die set.  I found some patterned paper with some sweet autumn words and layered with fall colors.  I added some twine behind the die cut image and a few orange enamel dots around the image. This was fun card to make!

I hope all of The Creative Crew Gals enjoy my card this month.  Please be sure to stop in to see what fun crafty cards are posted this month.  All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate Lorraine does not have a blog, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the wonderful creations this month!

We will be back in November with the image Lorraine will be sending out.  Be sure to check in with us on the 15th to see what fun she has planned!

Changing of the Leaves

Today is third Wednesday of the month and this is my Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card! The 3 Musketeers--Kelly, Jeanette and me--are back with another challenge for November-our 30th month!  That means we are well into our third year--YAY!

Kelly provided the challenge for November: Kelly purchased three wooden leaves a few years ago while on vacation in Tennessee in the winter!  She admired the blanket of snow--remember, Kelly lives in Miami, Florida!  She also loved the changing of the leaves and the gorgeous colors of autumn. She sent each of us one of the wooden leaves and challenged us to use it on a card.

Ready? Set? Go!

I think the wooden leaf is so pretty and I love the veins in all parts of the leaf.  It looks like a maple leaf and they are gorgeous in the fall.  We have two maple trees outside our dining room window and they are stunning to look at in October-November.  However, this year we had 6 inches of snow on Halloween, while most of the leaves were still on the tree. Now, they are on the ground, mixed with snow.  We did not get them picked up this fall so we will have a larger project in the spring.

My card highlights the leaf, along with some fall patterned paper.  I added the word cherish.  I cherish my 3-M friends.  I also cherish the seasons we have in Wisconsin, even if they have been mixed up the past few years.................

Here is the inside of my card.

Please be sure to check out the other Ready, Set, Go cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card.  I am up for the next theme, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd Wednesday in December!

October Lovely as a Tree

This is my One Plus Twelve, month ten!  This was the brainchild of Kelly and she asked Jeanette and me to join her in this challenge. We are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month--but we may add a sentiment if we want!  One Stamp/Twelve Months-here we go into our 10th month of one plus 12.  We are to post on the 3rd of each month.

As a mentioned for my first card in January,  I picked my favorite Stampin Up set--Lovely as a Tree.  It is now retired and it does make me a bit sad....  For my challenge this month, I went with some October patterned paper and then used my Kaleidacolor Autumn Leaves ink pad.  I added some of my new Ink on 3 Liquid Pixie Dust on the trees, though the sparkle is hard to see in the photo-but sweet in person!

Here is the inside of my card:

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog. I am sure you will enjoy checking out what stamp set is picked and will see a couple of great cards! Autumn is Coming!

This is the card I made for our bi-monthly swap at my local stamp and scrapbook store called Polka Dots, in Mukwonago.  The theme this month is a fall card.  This is a favorite Whipper Snapper autumn image--I love the sunflowers! Autumn is indeed coming, though you would never guess by the temps in the 90's the past week or so.  Can we save a bit of that when it gets cooler?!

Here is the inside of my card:

Mystery Revealed ~ Pizza

This card is for a Mystery Swap on SCS. A group of us are doing a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess. This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette and we are now ending our second cycle.   Jeanette is the hostess this month and she picked a cute image for a newer stamp set to her by Sugar Pea Designs.   Jeanette will swap the cards--then send us the next image, which I provided this time.  I can't wait to get the swap cards back to see how everyone else used the same image. Then everyone gets to do it all over again with my image!

I thought this image was too cute and I knew I wanted to do a Z-fold card to highlight the Pizza Themed Paper!

Here is the card partially opened so you can see the heart scallop punch that I used on the edge--if the pizza is a heart, I did need to use a few more on the card!

Three Musketeer's Inaugural Card

This is my first post for a new adventure--The Three Musketeers!  Interesting name, right.  Well--check out this picture.............................

Can you tell who these individuals are?  Jeanette is on the left and Kelly is on the left; and yes, I am in the middle.

This was an idea of Jeanette's and it is a form of a mystery swap, with the three of us. I am not sure who came up with the name and the picture--I think it was Jeanette.....  But, it was my idea to have one of Kelly's daughters photo shop our faces into the image Jeanette found.  I understand while she was creating, she was laughing her butt off and when Kelly saw it, she did the same!  Well--I know when it was sent to me, I laughed very hard myself!  So, here we are!

Each month, one of us will send the same stamped image to the other two ladies and all three of us will created a card.  We are only getting the image--no additional items. We hope to post the 9th of each month, but that may change in the future.

Jeanette started out our journey and she sent us this cute Sugar Pea Designs Image.  I fussy cut the image and layered it over background paper with autumn words. The top is an embossed background of fall leaves.   Jeanette sent the sentiment along with the pumpkin image I added to the inside of my card.

I hope both of my pals like my card this month! I sure had fun making it and am excited to be a part of this new voyage!  Is that what Musketeers go on? A Voyage?

Here is the inside of my card:

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of very cute cards. This will be a fun escapade and I hope you come back and join us next month. It will be my turn to send the images and they already have them.  I picked out a bit of a challenging image, so I am excited to see what my two friends create!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It is the 28th of the month and it also is Thanksgiving Day, so I am here to welcome you to another round with the Calendar Girls!

Who are the Calendar Girls? We are a group of bloggers who want to have a place where friendships blossom, creativity abounds, and encouragement prevails! In keeping with that dream, this blog group has been created so we will have a place to interact and enjoy being fellow bloggers.  Jeanette decided on the theme for this month
and here is the challenge for the group:

We're going to go with VERY EASY and NO STRESS for the November theme, since we'll all be busy with Thanksgiving, etc.

Sooooooooooooooooo.... we'll go with Terry's suggestion: Thanksgiving theme......anything goes.......food, thank you card, Thanksgiving anything. And as a wee bit of extra fun, let's include Barb's suggestion: share a story of the best or worst food we have eaten on that day in the past.

I inked up a Thanksgiving image that I got a couple of years ago and had not used it yet.  It was designed by one of the ladies who is in a thread I frequent on SCS called the SOTC--Sisterhood of the Traveling Stamps.  Lorie Souther created this cutie for Peachy Keen Stamps.

Here is the inside of my card:

We were asked to share a story about our worst or best food we have eaten.  I love turkey--white meat only!  I also love stuffing and the special mashed potatoes that are made with sour cream and cream cheese--no calories there!  One of my favorite side dishes my SIL makes is sweet potato soufflĂ©--it is a recipe that is made at The Fireside Dinner Theatre in Fort Atkinson, WI--which is two blocks from my brother's house.  Yum--and again, low calorie.......  So--you see that I really, really like most of the food that is served at our Thanksgiving meal--and I am trying really had to come up with a worst meal.  But--about 30 some years ago, I took a train trip with some friends to New Orleans.  We left that left the afternoon before Thanksgiving and we arrived late Thursday morning.  We found restaurant that had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and the dressing had oysters in it.  I just could not eat that....................
