Paradiso Butterfly

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 66th month of de-stash, so we are in the middle our 6th year of challenges. I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Tracie posted our June challenge--Flowers are blooming, butterflies are everywhere so let's see a butterfly on your card.

I decided to go with an "only using dies" card and I really like the result.  The butterfly is a three part die, really 4 parts when including the body and antennae, from Birch Press called Paradiso Butterfly.  I die cut the bottom layer from some black watercolor cardstock so it has a bit of texture.  The middle and top layers were die cut from the panels I had previously made with some alcohol inks. There is not as much color variations as I thought, but there sure is some shine from the Yupo paper!  The background die is from Tutti Design and is called Oriental Screen, which I cut from black cardstock.  I layered it over a Gorgeous Grape panel and there is a thin layer of purple shimmer paper behind it--hard to see in the picture!  I then added some Stampin' Up Iridescent Jewels on the card.  The sentiment is from a CZ Designs/Simon Says Stamp Sentiment set about graduation called Yay You!

Here is the inside of my card with a strip of washi tape:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSJUN.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For July, Maggie is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

I Am Right

Today I am posting a card that just makes me smile!  I picked a fun Itty Bitty Unity stamp set called I am Right.  I used my Mini Misti to stamp the large image 3 or 4 times with black ink in order to get good coverage--love my Misti platforms--plural!  I die cut the sentiment with my Gina Marie Stitched Rounded Squares along with a black backer.  I picked a patterned paper from a package of Back to Black Designer Series Paper as the background.    I added some black enamel dots and some white ribbon as the final touch.

Here is the inside of my card with a strip of the patterned paper:

Thinking of You Flower

Here we are--this is the Double Duty Day!  This is the 16th month, so we are into year #2.  This was a thought that I had in the middle of the night and it is called Double Duty!

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For June, the company we are using is Whipper Snapper Designs.  Most of the stamps by this company are single stamps and not sold in sets.  We are to pick one stamp to use. The home store for this company is only about 15 miles from my house and I have many stamps to pick from.   I decided to go with Thinking of You Flowers!

For my oval card, I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I used  my Stampin' Up Oval dies to cut the image and black backer. I then picked my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 to cut the orange  panel--then I embossed it with a Stampin' Up embossing folder called Bouquet of Love.  I added some Stampin' Up jewels for the final touch.

For my second card, I heat embossed the image with white embossing powder.  I then ink blender over the image with my Taylored Expressions Ink Cubes in Red, Orange and Yellow.  This time I used some Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles to cut the image and the white backer. I again used my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 to cut the background which I also then embossed with a Stampin' Up Tin Tile Dynamic Folder  A few Taylored Expressions Gold Drip Drops were added for the final touch.

I had a number of Double Duty elements on these cards. I used an embossing folder on each one along with cutting the background panel with Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2. I used dies to cut out the image on both along with a backer.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards.

Here is a link to Jeanette's,  Darlene and Carol's blogs. I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards.  Our friend Kelly might occasionally post a card for our challenge, but she could not commit to the entire year.  So, check her blog to see if she did play along this month!

Unity Stamps is up for our our July challenge, so be sure to check out our cards on the 22nd!

Small Gesters

This is my card for a newer swap called the SIS--Surprise Image Swap.   This is card #3 and it is the same premise as before with the UIS or mystery image swap. The group will be a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The surprise part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--the 18th of every other month.   The image for this round was provided by Darlene.  She will swap the cards and include the new image for round #4 that Carol stamps in everyone's return envie. Then--we do it all again in August!

Darlene sent everyone this sweet image from SCT Delivered stamps called Change the World. I have the same set and the matching dies, so I was able to die cut the cute image.  I first ink blended some red, orange, yellow, green and blue colors from my Taylored Expressions ink cubes over the full panel with the image with my TE Blender Brushes!  I die cut the sentiment with a banner from my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2. I also embossed the panel with one of my favorite Embossing Folders from Stampin' Up called Subtle Dynamic.  I added some Pinkfresh Studio Jewels as the final touch.

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations.  The due date is today, the 18th, or they may post in the upcoming days. You can also check out SCS and use the keyword SIS03 to see some posted there.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

A Woman of Strength!

Today is the 15th and that means the Dueling Darlings are back to post their fun cards!  This group was founded 10 years ago and there are a few of us that are the original members.  Kelly and Jeanette are still our team leaders and they try so hard to keep us all in line and going strong!  On team Kelly are Terry, Carol and me.  Team Jeanette consists of Lorraine, Darlene and Tracie.  And, we are all Dueling Darlings!

Jeanette sent out the June kits to all members of both teams.  If you remember, Kelly sent both teams the May kits, so it is Jeanette's turn to spoil us!  The theme this month is Women of Strength!  Jeanette sent us this sweet Hello Bluebird Frosty Mornings image with two cute girls!  She also included two sentiments and I used both as one is on the inside of my card.  She also included some fun coffee inspired papers along with some cute green patterned papers.  There as also a bunch of fun embellishments-- and I picked some ribbon and sequins to use on my card.  Oh--and then there was the twist in the challenge, and I will get to that after I tell about my card.

I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I then die-cut image and the Early Espresso layer with some Spellbinders Circle Dies.  I used my Stampin' Up Triple Layer Punch to make three banners with the fun green pattern paper.  I picked the Simon Says Stamp/Pinkfresh Studio sentiment from the Next level Amazing set for the front of my card. The coffee paper background is from Moxxie.  This was fun card to make!

Now, to the surprise!  There was a special meaning to our kit this month--it is in honor of Kelly.  The kit includes an image with Coffee--Kelly's favorite beverage, Friendship-a very important part of Kelly's life and the color Green-Kelly's favorite color! Kelly IS a Woman of Strength!  Kelly is a very special person to all of us and is a great friend who is always there with a kind and encouraging word!  Kelly actually came to visit me in Wisconsin in January--and she lives in Miami!  She got to see snow and hang out with some of her stamping gals for 4 days!   Kelly is an awesome mom for 4 wonderful children, a sweet grandmother to the cute Alice and a great wife to Tony!  She is also the friend each of us would love to hang out with--especially in Miami in the winter! Someday...............  Kelly is always going 100 miles an hour--and many times in her vehicle, but hopefully not that fast in Miami traffic!  How she does it I do not know--and I often comment to her on this subject.  See--She is a Woman of Strength!

Here is the inside of my card, with another of the fun sentiments Jeanette sent:

I hope Kelly and all of the Dueling Darlings enjoy my card this month and showcasing Women of Strength!  Please be sure to stop in to see what fun coffee creations are posted and to read what our group has to say about Kelly!  All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate Lorraine does not have a blogs, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the wonderful creations this month!   July has Carol and Tracie up as hostesses, so be sure to check back on the 15th to see all of our creations.

.... Say It Big!

Today I am posting a recent Thank You card that I made as it seems like I always need them!  I picked a very large sentiment from a fun Unity stamp set called ...Say it Big!  There are 3 additional large sentiments in the set--Congrats, Beautiful and Birthday.  There are then 15 additional stamps to use with these big Sentiments.  I used my Mini Misti to stamp the large image 3 or 4 times with Pacific Point ink in order to get good coverage--love my Misti platforms--plural!  I die cut the sentiment with my CottageCutz Double Stitched Rectangles along with a Pacific Point backer.  I layered this on panel die cut from a Pinkfresh Studio Simply Diamonds plate which was cut and layered three times.  I added Studio Katia Bluebird Pearls as the final touch.

Thanks!

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card.  This is card number 37, so this is the start of year #4. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success started with Kelly and the general theme is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a group of 6 and we will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other 5 members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For this month's messiness, I used Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer. The colors I picked are Beyond Blue with a bit of Zesty Lime.  These are some fun colors to use with Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I spritzed the cardstock, added the color and then spritzed again to move the color.  I die cut the panel with my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 and added the black layer from the same die set.  The texture and color is so cool in real life!  I then die cut the Taylored Expressions Signature Thanks and Backer in white three times and layered on the black backer. I then added some silver leaves cut from Pinkfresh Studio Curvy Leaves.  Silver TE Drip Drops were the final touch!

Here is the inside of my card, with another foil leaf.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies liked it too!

Here are the links to the other members of Hot Mess ~ Success.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry'sKelly's , Carol's and Darlene's blogs. I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to on July 12th.

Life is Simpler

This is my June card for the monthly themed swap that Terry is hosting on SCS. Each month she will post a theme and we make cards using any stamp set we believe follows that thought. This is our 72nd month and the theme for June is "Farm Fresh"

I picked a fun Penny Black stamp set that I have had for a few years and really like it!  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut the panel from a Gina Marie Designs Stitched Squares.  The background paper is from Imaginisce Heartland Farm called Farmer Joe. The sentiment is from the same set. The saying "If it ain't red, it stays in the shed" runs through my mind.  We had red Farmall's when I was growing up and I loved driving them!    I think this is a fun image.

Here is the inside of my card with a strip of the patterned paper:

I hope Terry and the others swappers like my card this month too! Terry has posted all of the 2022 themes, so be sure to come back to see what we create!

Otters Wishing You

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the fun image from CC Designs called Otter that Jeanette sent out for our June card,  #94! That means we are in the middle of year number 7 with this fun challenge! All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a long time!

I think this is the cutest image.  Jeanette sent us some options as she stamped the image on a full panel and also sent us some that she had die cut for us.  There was also this cute sentiment!   I colored one of the sweet image that was die cut with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I cut a circle from a Cool Caribbean panel with a die from The Ton's Double Stitched Circle Dies.  I then embossed the panel with my Stampin' Up Seaside folder.  The little otters were then placed over a piece of patterned paper from The Craft Consortium package of Ink Drops Earth.   I die cut th sentiment with a stitched rectangle from Stampin' Up.  I added some blue enamel dots for the final touch!   I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Here is the inside of my card, with a strip of the colorful paper:

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  They may post today or tomorrow, so be sure to check out their blogs for their card!   Kelly is up for our July challenge.  Please be sure to join us again.

Best Wishes Fore Your Retirement

This is my June Crafters of Faith card.  This is a great group that my friend Kelly started on SCS.  She hosted for 5 years and now Faith has taken over for year #7. We will continue as we have in the past with each month a new hostess gives us a scripture and challenges us to make a card with that theme.

Faye is the hostess this month and gave everyone this challenge:

Scripture:  1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Challenge: make a card giving glory to God. (any area of your life)

I needed a retirement card for our Pastor who is leaving the middle of this month.  He is also a golfer so this Impression Obsession stamp set is perfect!  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut the image along with the sentiment with my Stampin' Up Stitched Rectangles.  I picked some fun green patterned paper from a newer to me 6x6 pack from the Craft Consortium called Ink Drops Earth--looks like sweet alcohol inked papers! I added some green thread behind the image along with Pinkfresh Studio jewels as the final touch!

Here is the inside of my card, with another sentiment from the same set:

I hope you and the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month!  We are to post on the 7th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too!

Sunflower Thank You!

This is my One Plus Twelve card for June!  This was the brainchild of Kelly and she asked Jeanette and me to join her in this challenge in 2019. We are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month and post on the 3rd of each month.  It was so much fun that the three of decided to continue for our fourth year and pick a new image to use.

For 2022, I picked newer Stampin' Up set called Nature's Harvest.  I think this set is so pretty and I picked the largest coneflower or sunflower image to use each month.  There is also a coordinating die set called Harvest so I can use that some months too.

For my card this month, I decided to go with shades of brown!  I colored the image as a sunflower with my Copic Sketch Markers and then die cut the flower with the coordinating die.  I used my Stampin' Up Stitched Rectangles to cut a brown panel and placed the flower and sentiment on the panel. The background panel and strip is from the Stampin' Up Designer Series pack called I good Taste. I added some Taylored Expressions Gold Drip Drops and the card is complete!

Here is the inside of my card, with a strip of the DSP:

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog. I am sure you will enjoy checking out each of our stamps for 2022 and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card and that you might too! Be sure to check back every month on the 3rd to see our cards!
