Junkie Fest Thanks!

Today I am headed home from Junkie Fest.  I am sure I am quite tired, but full of energy to play with all of my new toys and try all of the fun techniques.  I promise to share some pictures this coming week and make a blog post about the past 4 days.

These are my two Thank You cards for the teachers and volunteers and organizers, especially Chris!!  I took 7 classes--five in my group and I signed up for two additional classes.  One of the classes was a 4 hour coloring class, with Kathy Racoosin, of the Daily Marker and the current 30 Day Color Challenge!  Each group had either 6 two hour classes or 5 two hour classes and one 4 hour.  This is just a tease...................... more details to come later this week!

I used some of the beautiful Stampin' Up Painted With Love Designer Paper for the background.  It is the same background I used on my name tag.  I die cut the words from gold foil and adhered them on, using Sticky Paper--love it!

Here is the inside of my both cards:

I hope the ladies and one gentleman who received these cards liked them and that you do too!

Yellow and Sunshine!

Today is the day I post a project for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 30th month of de-stashing-we are well into our 3rd year into our challenges.

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Maggie posted our June challenge--Celebrate the start of summer by making a card with yellow and sunshine.

I used a fun embossing folder from We R Memory Keepers called Starburst and I think it looks like sunbeams!  I added another die on the card--Momenta Hello.  I layered two for added dimension.

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today or in the next few days.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSJUN.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For July, Pansy is up and I am sure we will have another fun theme.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

Sail Away

This is the 24th week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. June is "try a new technique" challenge.  Every Tuesday I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge. This is the final card for June!

I made this card using my blender brushes to add color to a piece of Stampin' Up Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This paper acts like a resist emboss when you add color as the pattern is glossy on the white.  I thought is pattern looks a bit like waves.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.

I hope you will stop back each Tuesday to see my creation for my A Card a Week Challenge!  July is up next and that is Christmas In July month--so be sure to check back to see some Christmas cards for the next month!

Big Birthday Wishes

This is my card for June's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month.

Suzy is the hostess this month and sent everyone this great birthday image for us. She also sent some patterned paper along with other cute embellishments.  It was a fun image to color up and I know that I will use this card in the future!

Spring Boots

This is the card for the 44th round of the Unidentified Image swap on SCS.  It is a group of ladies who are a part of a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The unidentified part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted.   The image for this round was provided by Heather .  She will swap the cards and include the next image that Tracie, our next hostess in their return envie.  And then we get to do it all again--for round #45--in August!

Heather sent us this cute image from Two Paper Divas. When she sent this, it was April, so I think she was planning on spring rains!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations recently or in the next few days.  You can also check out SCS and use the keyword UIS44 to see some posted there.  I hope Heather and everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

June is Dairy Month!

Today is third Wednesday of the month and this is my Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card! The 3 Musketeers--Kelly, Jeanette and me--are back with another challenge for June-our 25th month!  That means we are starting our third year--YAY!!!!!!

I provided the challenge for June: June 19th is our posting date and I am going to make it an easy challenge.  June is Dairy Month and being from Wisconsin as well as  growing up on a farm, this was always a fun month.   As 4-H member, we had an Ice Cream Social every year during June.  There are also many Farm Breakfasts that are held to honor the farmers.  Culvers Restaurants was founded in Wisconsin in 1984 and they honor farmers all month long with special events and contests..  So—please create a card or other project that honors Dairy Month.  Farmers, Food, Animals, etc.—anything that reminds you of dairy.  Easy-Peasy.  Ready? Set. Go!

Ready? Set? Go!

I have a few stamps with cows and I knew that is the route I wanted to take.  I laugh out loud when I ink up this Penny Black image and the matching sentiment on the inside of my card.

Here is the inside of my card.

Please be sure to check out the other Ready, Set, Go cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card.  Kelly is up for the next theme, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd Wednesday in July!

Thoughts & Reminders

This is the 23rd week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. June is "try a new technique" challenge.  Every Tuesday I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge. This is the third card for June!

I made this card using a version of a baby wipe technique. I used Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks and placed drops on a folded baby wipe.  I used three colors and then placed the white cardstock on the baby wipe to gather the colors.  I then let it dry a bit and stamped the sentiment on the colored inks.  I like that you can see a bit of the pattern that is on the baby wipes.  The plan was to have color over the entire image before using the Gina Marie Designs Wine Label die--but there is some white showing on the top corners. I used the Stampin' Up Subtle Embossing Folder for the background layer.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope you will stop back each Tuesday to see my creation for my A Card a Week Challenge!  June is ending next week for "try a new technique" month--so be sure to check back to see what new technique I will be using for my last card!
