Color Me Autumn

This is my fourth card for a newer blog group that I am a part of on SCS. It is called the Gallery Gazers and was created by one of my good friends on SCS, Jeanette--Forest Ranger.  The premise behind the group is friendship, a shared love of stamping, and also a shared admiration for the many amazing creators who post in the SCS Gallery. Once a month, we are each to choose a card/project from the SCS Gallery to CASE--Copy and Share Everywhere. This post is the card I made after being inspired by karpkids' card on SCS found Here!

I love layers as many of you know and this card stood out to highlight some awesome patterned papers.  I also love fall colors and went with a Stampin' Up patterned paper called Color Me Autumn.

Here is the inside of my card:

I had fun creating this card for this group. Be sure to check back and see what I make in the future months.  There is not set date to post our creations, so check back often!

5th Fancy Fold Card

Today is the fifth week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. January is Fancy Folds!  Each Tuesday, I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge.

Today is a version of a tri-fold card. It is also a way to highlight some of the fun patterned papers that I have in my stash.  I also used another fun die from The Stamps of Life, like the Thank You one on my card yesterday.

Here is another view of the card, showing the three layers or folds:

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope you will stop back each Tuesday to see my creation for my A Card a Week Challenge!  February is all about SCS Sketches--come back to see my card!

Challenge Your Stash

Today is the day I post a project for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 25th month of de-stashing-we are now starting our 3rd year into our challenges.

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Sue posted our January challenge--Make a Thank You card and use some type of embossing on it!

I used a die-cut from The Stamps of Life that I have had for awhile.  I used a similar die on another card that I am posting tomorrow for my A Card a Day Challenge--be sure to check back!  I layered the Cherry Cobbler over another die cut in Early Espresso to give some dimension.  I also used one of my favorite embossing folders, Tufted Dynamic from Stampin' Up.

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today or in the next few days.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSJAN.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For February, Shelly is up and we already know our next theme.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

Pleated Skirt Fold

This is my third card for a newer blog group that I am a part of on SCS. It is called the Gallery Gazers and was created by one of my good friends on SCS, Jeanette--Forest Ranger.  You all know her as one of the Three Musketeers and a part of Ready, Set Go, both groups also including Kelly.  No surprise, Kelly is also one of the members of the Gallery Gazers too.  The premise behind the group is friendship, a shared love of stamping, and also a shared admiration for the many amazing creators who post in the SCS Gallery. Once a month, we are each to choose a card/project from the SCS Gallery to CASE--Copy and Share Everywhere. This post is the card I made after being inspired by Sue (dani_fournier on SCS) card found Here!

I have seen many samples of cards using these kinds of folds.  This one is called Pleated Skirt Fold and I have also seen some called Drapery Folds. It is a fun fold to use to highlight the front and back of some pretty patterned paper!

Here is the inside of my card:

I had fun creating this card and I am behind in making cards for this group.  I am missed my December one and I have a second one scheduled for here next Wednesday!  Be sure to check back and see what I make.  There is not set date to post our creations, so check back often!

Week 4--Big Buckle Card

Today is the fourth week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. January is Fancy Folds!  Each Tuesday, I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge.

Today is a Big Buckle Card. I have not made one of these cards for years--maybe 10 years or more!  I like the look of this card for a masculine card, so that is what I went with, using an older Stampin' Up set called Traveler.  This challenge is also getting me to use more of my stash--or supplies!

Here are some other views of the card:

Happy Golden Anniversary

This card is for a Mystery Swap on SCS. A group of us do a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess. This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette and we are now in our 50th round!  Hence--the heading--Happy Golden Anniversary!  Laura Jean is our hostess this month and she sent everyone this sweet image--for a Valentine card or a friendship card!  She will swap the cards and send everyone the next image, which Terry picked out! We then get to do it all again, for round #51, in March!
Here is the inside of my card:

I hope all of the mystery swappers like my card.  If you check my sidebar on the left, you might see some other swappers who have posted their cards today or a few days ago as the due date was the 18th.

Camp Stamp-in-Oga Challenges

These two cards I made for the card challenges for Camp Stamp-In-Oga, which is being held today. The top one, with the snowflake scroll,  is for the Color Challenge and the bottom one is for the Sketch Challenge.  I am hoping one of the two is a winner!

Here are the color choices:

Here is what the sketch looks like:

I went with a bit of non-traditional winter colors for the first card--picking Flirty Flamingo and Lovely Lipstick.  I used the Stampin' Up Snow is Glistening Stamp set and the coordinating Snowfall thinlits.  I like the uniqueness of it and I hope the attendees do to and vote for it!

For the sketch card, is highlighted some of the newest Stampin' Up Specialty Designer Series Paper called Floral Romance.  I love the colors and the patterns!

Here is the insides of both cards:
