December A Card A Week

This is the 49th week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. This is my final month and December is to make a card for any holiday.  AND-I have already made the decision to continue this in 2020.  I am not sure if I will use the same themes each month, but I will still post once a week with a pre-set theme!

For my first card for December, I made a Christmas card using my favorite set of all time--Lovely as a Tree.  For those of you who follow my blog know that yesterday was a One + 12 post and that was using this same stamp every month to make a card. I embossed the trees with Stampin' Up's Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and cut it out with Dies by Dave.  The background is Altenew Galaxy Washi Tape.  I also embossed the Be Merry with Silver Embossing Powder and layered with silver metallic cardstock.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.

Here is the inside of my card, with a strip of the washi tape.

I hope you will stop back each Tuesday to see my creation for my A Card a Week Challenge!  Be sure to come back every Tuesday in December for the last month of my A Card A Week Challenge!

October Lovely as a Tree

This is my One Plus Twelve, month ten!  This was the brainchild of Kelly and she asked Jeanette and me to join her in this challenge. We are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month--but we may add a sentiment if we want!  One Stamp/Twelve Months-here we go into our 10th month of one plus 12.  We are to post on the 3rd of each month.

As a mentioned for my first card in January,  I picked my favorite Stampin Up set--Lovely as a Tree.  It is now retired and it does make me a bit sad....  For my challenge this month, I went with some October patterned paper and then used my Kaleidacolor Autumn Leaves ink pad.  I added some of my new Ink on 3 Liquid Pixie Dust on the trees, though the sparkle is hard to see in the photo-but sweet in person!

Here is the inside of my card:

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog. I am sure you will enjoy checking out what stamp set is picked and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card and that you might too! We will be back each month, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd of November.  Only two months to go!

One Plus Twelve Challenge

Welcome to One Plus Twelve, month 3!  This is the brainchild of Kelly and she asked Jeanette and me to join her in this challenge. We are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month--but we may add a sentiment if we want!  One Stamp/Twelve Months-here we go into our third month of one plus 12!  We post on the 3rd of each month, reflecting the three of us and our three challenges we currently do together--3 Musketeers, our first challenge along with Ready, Set Go and now this one!

As a mentioned for my first card in January,  I picked my favorite Stampin Up set--Lovely as a Tree.  For my challenge this month, I inked the stamp up with Kaleidacolor Autumn Leaves for great fall colors and used my Dies by Dave to cut out the image.  I added a Gina Marie Designs Peekaboo frame around the trees and used some autumn words behind the trees

One Plus Twelve, Card 2

Welcome to One Plus Twelve, month 2!  This is the brainchild of Kelly and she asked Jeanette and me to join her in this challenge. We are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month--but we may add a sentiment if we want!  One Stamp/Twelve Months-here we go into our second month of one plus 12!

For my challenge this month, I made a card using a new die that I bought--Cheery Lynn Designs Window B.  I also used some new washi tape from Altenew, called Galaxy Wide Washi. I thought it would make a great background behind the trees.  I embossed the trees with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and there is much more sparkle and shine on the card than the picture shows.  It is a hard to see, so I did take a second picture with a flash on and it makes it a bit lighter.

Here is the inside of my card and the black "blob" in the corner is another embossed tree:

Camp Color Challenge

This is one of my two cards for I made for our recent card challenges at Camp Stamp-in-Oga, held on the 14th. Sarah, our camp leader, posts the challenges about a week before the camp.  There is a sketch and a color challenge--which is what this card is for.  There were 5 color choices and I went with three of them--Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede and Pumpkin Pie. I went with a fall--but it was not one of the winners. Come back tomorrow to see the sketch challenge card--which was a winner!

Ready? Set? Go!

It is the third Wednesday of the month and that means a Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card!  The 3 Musketeers (Jeanette, Kelly and me) are back with another challenge this month--our third month of this!

Jeanette picked our challenge for this month.  We have been chatting the past few months about how our gallery has changed since we all joined SCS.  We all started our gallery in 2008.  I joined SCS in 2004, but it took me 4 years to post to the gallery.  Jeanette and Kelly both joined SCS in 2008 and started posting to the gallery the same year.  So, Jeanette's challenge was to find out 8th card from the end--the 8th card we posted to our gallery.  We then were to CASE the card and created one for this month.  So-ready or not--here we go!   Ready? Set? Go!

My 8th card was a 3 x 3 card I did for a shoebox swap in Madison in March of 2008.  It was a very simple card--one stamp with one layer and using Kaleidacolor ink.  And, a very poor picture of it too!  So, I did use the same kind of ink pad on this card, and did use the same ticket corner punch.  But, I also used my 4th card as an inspiration.  I used the same stamp set--and one that is still current in the Stampin' Up catalog ~ Lovely as a Tree!   I still have the Word Window punch too!  It is a pretty simple card--no ribbon or fiber on it, as that is what these two cards portray.

I sure hope my photography skills along with card making creativity have both improved in the past 9 years!

Here is the inside of my card:

I think this sentiment is perfect as both of my companions in this challenge are both so nice!  We chat via texting pretty much every single day!  And Nice Does Matter!!!!!

Please be sure to check out the other Ready, Set, Go cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card and that you might too!  Kelly is up for the next theme, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd Wednesday in August!

Happy Together

This is my card for the monthly themed swap that Terry is hosting on SCS.  Each month she will post a theme and we make cards using any stamp set we believe follows that thought. This is our tenth month and the theme for September is "Boys and Their Toys".

I hope Terry and the others swappers like my card this month too!  I inked up a Stampin' Up set and used one of the matching Dies by Dave for the bike--love how slick that works!   I cannot wait to see what our theme is for October and that will post on the 10th.

By The Tide

This is my card for the monthly themed swap that Terry is hosting on SCS.  Each month she will post a theme and we make cards using a Stampin' Up set that we believe follows that thought. This is our eighth month and the theme was "Life's a Beach".  So--last month I did not use a SU set and Terry was nice enough to say that is OK.  She now has edited the "rules" to say we can use another company if we want.  Well--this month, I am not sure my card follows the theme-but Terry said "fish live in the ocean, the ocean is at the beach, it is all good!  I had visions of fish "on" the beach and it was not a pretty sight or odor........................

I hope Terry and the others swappers like my card this month too!  I cannot wait to see what our theme is for August and that will post on the 10th.  AND--I promise to follow directions this time!

I need to give credit to this card to my demo Sarah--of Stinkin' Cute Cards--her blog link is here.  This card is from a card kit I bought awhile ago and I loved the card she designed!  I made a few minor changes, but this is Sarah's Creation!

I also got to use one of my new recent purchases.  I placed an order a few weeks ago with Dies by Dave and received the set Tide.  It makes the fussy cutting of the fish so much easier.  I also got the set that matches Lovely as a Tree and I am excited to use that one too!  I can see another order in the future as Dave said he is adding some new dies the end of this month...............
