Refined Copper

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. This card is #72, so we are at the end of year #7. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a very fun group and will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For my messiness this month, I picked a new color of Simon Hurley's Astro Paste called Refined Copper over an ivory cardstock panel.  I used it on a Brass & Bliss stencil called Circle Wave Pattern. After the panel dried, I layered it over a panel of Copper Mirricard.   I wanted a simple sentiment so the panel would shine, so I picked a die from Lawn Fawn called Giant Thank You. I die cut the word three times from The Paper Cut's Copper Mirricard. I add some Brown Bling from The Ton around the words.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like them too!  Here are the links to the other somewhat messy crafters: Darlene, Jeanette and TerryI am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up in August!

Creative Crate-Lawn Fawn

These cards are from a very recent virtual event sponsored by Firefly Farm called S'Mores Edition of the Creative Crates. These 3 cards are from the Lawn Fawn class taught by Jenn Shurkus.  I participated in a few Creative Crates early on during Covid.  I stopped at the Firefly Farm stamp store in May on my way to a retreat and met Trisha, the owner, in person.  She showed me some of the products and cards for the upcoming event and I could not resist.  More classes to come!

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class.

This class used a few different stamp sets and matching dies along with patterned paper from Lawn Fawn.  We also received most of the images and sentiments already die cut in our kit--WIN!  We did some ink blending and Copic Coloring. We also glittered all the things. Jenn's favorite saying!

I have three more classes to go--hoping to finish in the next week or so.

Bronze Birthday

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. This card is #70, so we are coming to the end of year #7.

For my messiness this month, I wanted to make a more masculine card, which is hard for me to do.  I picked Creative Expressions Metallic Gilding Polish in Chocolate Bronze along with a Stampin' Up Timber Embossing Folder.  I lightly swiped the bronze polish on the embossed crumb cake panel.  I then die cut the Lawn Fawn Giant Happy Birthday three times from The Paper Cut's Copper Mirricard. I added some Stampin' U Swirl Dots around the card.

Be sure to check back to see what we are up in June!

Use that DSP

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 88th month of de-stash, so we are into our 8th year of challenges.  I cannot believe my thought about using what we have is now 8+ years old!   I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Sharon posted our April challenge--Use ignored DSP-Patterned Paper--for a card.

I have a box with quite a few 6x6 paper packs, so decided to randomly grab a paper pack to use.  I rarely use the packs, so this was a perfect challenge.  The pack is from Lawn Fawn and is called Watercolor Rainbow.  I picked three colors of purple for the layers.  I die cut the words "Happy Birthday" from a Taylored Expressions Bold Birthday and Backer set.  I added a vellum circle behind the words, which I layered three times.  I then added some Lavender Jewels from Pinkfresh Studio around the words.

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSAPR.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For May, Vickie is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

Whimsical Greetings

For the past few weeks, I have been making cards from kits that I have sitting in  pouches in my stamp room.  I have a few kits from the Scrapbook and Cards Virtual Events called Crop & Create Delivered.  These three cards are from fall of 2022!  Yes, they have been in my room for a long time...................  This class was taught by Jenn Shurkus, called Whimsical Greetings and features Lawn Fawn products.

These 3 cards use the Sunny Squirrels Stamp and matching die set.  It also used the Lawn Fawn Sunflower Greetings Die set.  The patterned papers are also from Lawn Fawn.  They sure are cute cards as so many of the Lawn Fawn products feature cute creatures!  Now I have a few thank you cards to add to my stash!

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  These cards are the designs from Jenn Shurkus!   I am just recreating the cards from the class.

Paper Hugs Sparkles

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. This card is number 55, so we are into year #5.

For this month's messiness, I decided again to use Lustre Polish made by Creative Expressions, this time the color is Snow and Ice.  That is a perfect medium to use for December!  I again applied the polish over an embossed image.

The background is black cardstock and I used my Spellbinders Geo Screen Embossing Folder. I then took the Snow & Ice Lustre Polish and gently rubbed the color over the top of the embossed panel.  The Paper Hugs Die is from Lawn Fawn and is layered three times.  The words and the cardbase is some pretty cardstock from The Paper Cut called White Lady Metalic and is so pretty!   I added some clear rhinestones around the card for a bit more sparkle.

Here is a close-up of one corner, showing the sparkle.

I really like the look of my cards and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like them too!  Here are the links to the other somewhat messy crafters:   Carol, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry.   I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to in 2024 as we will all be back for another round!

Shiny Merry Christmas

For the past week or so, I have been making cards from kits that Sarah from The Paper Cut in Appleton, has created.  I had a package of "parts & pieces" from a previous kit that had 10 Brushed Silver card bases and the Crystal Diamond Glitter layer.

I decided to add a Blue Mirricard layer in which I die cut the Lawn Fawn Giant Merry Christmas out of the middle before layering.  I then embossed the top panel with a Spellbinders 3D embossing folder called Adorning the Tree.  I added some blue rhinestones for the final touch!  This is a very simple card, but it really has a lot of sparkle and shine!

Hot Mess ~ Success

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. These two cards are number 54, so we are into year #5.

For this month's messiness, I decided again to make two cards.  While I was messy, I might as well make two! The messiness this month was Purple Mist Metallic Gilding Polish made by Creative Expressions, applied over an embossed image.

For both of the cards, the background is black cardstock and I used Stampin' Up Embossing Folders.  The Thanks card used the Exposed Brick folder and the Birthday one is Parisian Flourish.  I then took the Purple Mist Gilding Polish and gently rubbed the color over the top of the embossed panel.  The Thanks is from Concord & 9th called Big Thanks and is layered three times.  Lawn Fawn makes thes Giant Happy Birthday to You and I offset a layer of a black die cut under the two layers of purple.  I added some Trinity Midnight Ball dots around the cards for a bit more shine.

Be sure to check back to see what we are up to on December 12th.

Thank You So Much

Here we are--this is the Double Duty Day!  This is the 34th month, so we are getting to the end of year #3

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For October, the company we picked was Lawn Fawn. They really make some fun and cute stamps and dies.  Plus fun stencils and inks and many, many other crafty items.  I picked the sweet sentiment set called Magic Messages. The set has a number of cute sentiments, along with a few additional small images.  It also includes a matching circle die to cut out the image.   I also have two die sets that can be used as frames with the circle image.  I picked Stitched Sun Frame die.

I picked the colors of cardstock and then colored the floral parts of the image to coordinate.  I die each of the thank you sentiments with the circle that comes with the stamp set.  For both cards, I used an embossing folder and the matching die.   I added ribbon to each of the cards and some enamel dots or sequins for the final touches.

For the card on the left, I used an Altenew Crystal Wall 3-D Embossing Folder. The colors are fall related--Crushed Curry and Early Espresso.  The frame looks like a sunflower!  I added some yellow enamel dots and used Crinkled Seam binding for the ribbon.

For the card on the right, I picked a Spellbinders Circle Illusion Embossing Folder. This time to colors are regal--Gold, Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow.  I added some gold sequins and Wine Organdy Ribbon

Again, both cards use a 3D embossed folder and the same Lawn Fawn Die set for the frames.  I colored both images with my Copic Sketch Markers and used the matching circle die to cut it out.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards. Here is a link to Jeanette'sDarlene’s  and  Carol's blogs.   I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards.

Next month we are using Altenew--should be some cute cards.  So be sure to check out our cards on November 22nd!

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card.   This is card number 52, so we are into year #5. For this month's messiness, I used some of my Simon Hurley Lunar Pastes.  I really like using them as they dry very fast and have some fun colors.  I picked Monty Fresh, Gold Rush and Bee Sting.  The stencil I picked was Hero Arts Deco Pattern.

I picked a fun die from Lawn Fawn called Giant Thank You.  I die cut it three times from The Paper Cut Antique Gold Metallic and stacked together.  I also layered the stenciled panel on the same Antique Gold.   I added a few gold enamel dots around the card.

I really like the look of my card and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like them too!  Here are the links to the other somewhat messy crafters:   Carol, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry.   I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to on October 12th.

A Fox's Life

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the A Fox's Life image and sentiment from Colorado Craft Company that Kelly sent out for our March card, #103! That means we are in the middle of year number 7 with this fun challenge! All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a long time!

I think this is such a cute image!   I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I then die cut the image with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die called Labels 7. I die cut a sentiment that Kelly had included with the same Labels 7 and added a piece of purple ribbon behind it.   The background panel is from a 6x6 Lawn Fawn Petite Paper Pack called Watercolor Wishes Rainbow.  I die cut the patterned paper panel with my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 and layered on a shimmer panel of purple glimmer paper!  Some purple enamel dots are the final touch!   I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  They may post today or tomorrow, so be sure to check out their blogs for their card!  I am up for our April challenge--please be sure to join us again.
