Wet My Plants

This card was posted on Instagram last weekend for a hop called Rediscovery! The premise of this hop is to find the treasures hidden, instead of buying new supplies.  We all have those drawers, bins and shelves that have been tucked away and forgotten.  We all need to root through them and rediscover what we have!  The hop is always the last weekend of every month and we are able to pick if we want to post on Saturday or Sunday.  I picked yesterday to post my card, but I will also check out the great cards posted today too!

The theme for July is Summer.  I picked a fun stamp set from Art Impressions called His & Her Gardeners.  We are on an acre and a half, so we have lots of area to garden in the summer. We also have a greenhouse!  We are able to start seeds in our basement under lights in our basement and then move out to greenhouse.  I am "in charge" of the flowers in pots and baskets--and we have quite a few on the deck and other places.  We also have a vegetable garden inside a fence full of raised beds and various containers.   So-summer means gardens to us!

I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I die cut from the Granny Apple Green panel with a Gina Marie Designs Peekaboo Oval Die and then embossed the panel with a Sizzix Tim Holtz Cobblestone 2 folder. I added foam tape under the oval panel and popped it over the image.  I also added the bee stamp and hose around the oval.  The sentiment is also in the stamp set and I did cut it with a Gina Marie Double Stitched Oval die. No additional embellishments are needed.

This hop on Instagram happens the last weekend of every month. If anyone is interested in joining us in the future, feel free to contact Tracy on IG--@craftwithme101    I know I will be back hopping in August!

Surprise Image Swap

This is my card for a swap called the SIS--Surprise Image Swap.   This is card #9  for our group.  It is a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The surprise part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--the 18th of every other month.   The image for this round was provided by Lori.  She will swap the cards and include the new image for round #10 that Jody stamps in everyone's return envie. Then--we do it all again in August!

Lori sent everyone this fun image from the Girlfriends line by Art Impressions. She also included two of the coordinating sentiments!  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers. I die cut the image with a Sizzix Dotted Squares Die.   I also cut one of the sentiments from a banner die from the MFT Die-Namics Blueprints 27 set.  I added some Pinkfresh Studio Glacier Jewels for the final touch!

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations.  The due date is today, the 18th, or they may post in the upcoming days. You can also check out SCS and use the keyword SIS09 to see some posted there.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

Teachers Rule

This is my September Crafters of Faith card.  This is a great group that my friend Kelly started on SCS.  She hosted for 5 years and now Faith has taken over for year #7. We will continue as we have in the past with each month a new hostess gives us a scripture and challenges us to make a card with that theme.

I am actually the hostess this month and gave everyone this challenge:

Scripture:   Proverbs 9:9 Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.

Challenge: Pease make a card that reflects school or a teacher. Or, something that you remember from when you were in school--any age!

I have a fun set from Art Impressions called Teachers Rule that I got used at a craft rummage sale in the past year or so.  Being a retired teacher, I love this set and have already used it a few times.  It makes great teacher cards and fun cards for other occasions too! I think this card can be for a birthday as it refers to 29 again, or for a veteran teacher heading back to school.  I colored the fun lady with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut the image along with a black backer from Gina Marie Stitched Circle Dies.   The background papers are from an Echo Park Paper line called Paper & Glue--Journaling Cards.  I added a few banners punched with my Stampin' Up Mini Banner Punch.

Here is the inside of my card, with a strip of ruler washi tape.

I hope you and the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month!  We are to post on the 7th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too!

Vera Golfs!

This is my February card for the monthly themed swap that Terry is hosting on SCS. Each month she will post a theme and we make cards using any stamp set we believe follows that thought. This is our 69th month and the theme for March  "Fun and Games"

I picked a stamp from Art Impressions called Vera. She just makes me smile...............   I also have the stamp of her matching male partner Al!  I colored the fun image with my Copic Sketch Markers.   I used Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 for the frame as that is one of my favorite and most used die sets! I did not add a sentiment or any embellishments as I really wanted a simple card this month.   I think this is a fun card and will make a good card to send to any woman who golfs for most any ocassion.

Here is the inside of my card, with a strip of washi tape:

I hope Terry and the others swappers like my card this month too! Terry has posted all of the 2022 themes, so be sure to come back to see what we create!

Art Impressions Double Duty

Here we are!  This is month #11 of another challenge for our group of 4 stampers—Barb, Jeanette, Kelly, and Carol!  This was a thought that I had in the middle of the night, similar to what Kelly has had in the past.  Plus, it is a bit of offshoot of our Stamp What Challenge! This one is called Double Duty!

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For November,  the company that I picked was Art Impressions. They have some cute stamp sets, and I do have a few, especially snowmen.  For our challenge this month, I picked a a set called Seasons Greetings.  The sentiment is from the same set.

For my first card, I colored the sweet snowman image with my Copic Sketch Markers. I added some Lawn Fawn Prisma Glitter on his cap and on the snow.  Since it such a large image, I layered it over just one piece of cardstock and placed it over a fun dotted background from Doodlebug.  The sentiment was added on the top of the card.  Some purple sequins are the final touch.

For my second card, I colored the same image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  Prisma Glitter again was added to this cap and the snowline.  This time I flagged the sentiment and laid it at an angle over the image. This time some pink enamel dots finish the card.

I had a number of Double Duty elements on these cards.  I used the same image and the same sentiment.    Prisma glitter was used on both and I think each card has some fun colors!

Here is the inside of my cards:

I hope you enjoyed my card for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's,  Kelly's  and Carol's blogs.    I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards! I hope Kelly, Jeanette and Carol like my card. Whipper Snapper Designs is the company we will use in December so be sure to check back to see how we double up and make two cards on the 22nd!

Gardening!

This is my May Crafters of Faith card.  This is a great group that my friend Kelly started on SCS. and we are well in our 4th year.  I am the hostess this month and gave everyone this challenge:

Scripture:  Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Challenge:  Make a project that showcases strength that you have received from your faith. Or, something that you are not strong at, but are working to be better! It could be an image, a technique, style of card—anything you want to highlight.

I love to garden and I do think it is a strength. We start many, many seeds in the basement under grow lights in March and then move the trays to the greenhouse in April.  I then transplant the seedlings into pots and baskets that we place around our deck the end of May.  I usually have around 2 dozen pots and baskets overflowing with flowers. We have 2 huge baskets that are 4 feet tall and showcase many types of flowers and vines. I also plant four half whiskey barrels and I love the look of those too.  Rebecca is in charge of the vegetable seeds and plants those raised beds.

I picked a fun Art Impressions stamp set that I got a year or so ago called His & Hers Gardeners.  The images just make me smile and there are some cute sentiments too.  I stamped the images on a piece of cardstock that I die cut from My Favorite Things Blueprints 27.   I colored the lady and garden hose with my Copic Sketch Markers. Green Enamel Dots are the only embellishment. I really like the look of this card!

Here is the inside of my card with a strip of washi tape:

I hope Kelly and the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month!  We are to post between the 7th and 10th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too!  Jeanette is up for our June challenge, so be sure to check back to see what I create!

Final Card Kit

I was the recipient of 11 fun card kits in February in a swap that Heather had set up on SCS. Thanks to all of my friends in this group that spoiled me with all of the great kits--I had a wonderful month getting the kits and then making some sweet cards!

This is card kit #11, the final one, from Maggie.  It was a great Christmas kit, with this hilarious image, along with some coordinating funny sentiments.  She also included some great patterned paper along with some wonderful embellishments! It was a fun card to make!
