Fun with Ink Cubes

Today I am posting two cards that I recently made from a virtual event by The Paper Cut back in February called Fun with Mini Ink Cubes.  These are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of Sarah from The Paper Cut.

The products for both of these cards are from Brass & Bliss or The Paper Cut. All of the beautiful cardstock is also from The Paper Cut. For the oval card, I used Gina K Designs Masking Magic and die cut an oval to ink blend.  The sentiment was from my stash.  The celebrate card was done by dragging 3 ink cubes along the debossed side of the panel to ink the background and leave the flowers white.   I added my own enamel dots on both cards.

Sarah offers many different kinds of classes through the year and kits can be ordered from their website.

Layered Eucalyptus

Today is the day I post a card for our challenge called Unused No More!  This is a monthly challenge to be posted on the 6th with a group of friends from my No Foolin' Retreat.  Some may post on their blog and I will note those with blogs at the end of this post.  And, some might post on other social media.  Those that participate each month will send a picture in the text thread we have between us, showing our creation.  The premise is to use a stamp set, stencil die, hot foil plate or press plate that is new and has never been used.  So--Unused No More!

My plan is to pick a different company each month to highlight and maybe even a different product than the month before.  For August, I picked a Gina K Designs Floral Stamp Set that I have not used called Layered Eucalyptus Mini.  I have a number of the mini sets from Gina K.

For my card, I used three color companions ink cubes--Light, Medium and Dark Spruce from Gina K for the 3-piece layering stamp set. I die cut the panel and the backer with Gina's Master Layouts 2 die. I added a green panel behind the image that was embossed with a Stampin' Up folder called Subtle Dynamic--my favorite for a bit of texture!  The sentiment is from the same set.  I did not add anything else to this card--just a simple sympathy card.

I am not sure who will post each month on their blog, but this is a list of the other ladies who do have blogs.  Links to the blogs of JeanetteCarolTerry, and Darlene Be sure to come back on September 6th to see another fun card from a set Unused No More.

Floral Laurel

I am continuing making cards from the SCT March virtual event, Crop & Create. These 3 cards are from the Altenew class taught by Bridget Casey

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class.

This class used this stamp set, matching dies, a stencil set and 3D embossing Folder called Floral Laurel. We stamped the images, did ink blending with the stencils and used the embossing folder for all three cards. I really like the florals in this kit.  The sentiments are perfect for sympathy and thinking of you cards so  I am sure I will use this kit often in the future.

I have two more classes to go--hoping to finish in the next few days.

Catch-Up Club

Today is the day of April and I am posting 2 sets of cards for our challenge-The Catch-up Club!  A few of my stamping friends, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry along with myself, have signed up for a number of virtual stamping events in the past 4+ years.  One of the benefits of these events are that they are available to rewatch or even watch for the first time at a later date as they are all recorded. The 4 of us "try" to watch live and chat by texting during the event.  But, life steps in and there are times when one or more of us are not participating during the live.  Then, the kits from sponsors sits in our stamping area until we are ready to watch the video and create.  During one of the events, we decided we needed to push ourselves (and each other) to get some of these events done!   So--we all decided to devote one day a month, the last day of the month for the somewhat procrastinators that we are, to post cards we missed making.  So--here we are in our 17th month of The Catch Up Club!

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This month the creations are from the recent Scrapbook & Cards Today Crop & Create Delivered.

The set of 4 cards were created by Taylor of Taylored Expressions.  The set she used is a Crete-in-Quads called Flit & Flutter and includes the stencils and coordinating dies. I have also purchased some Foil-it panels that match.  The ink colors I used are my Taylored Expressions ink pads.

The second set of cards are from Gina of Gina K Designs.  The class was called Over The Edge Cards and we used the Hand-picked Flowers bunde with included a stamp set, coloring stencils and dies. I used Gina K ink cubes for all three of the cards.

I have a few more classes from this event and hope to finish them soon..........

I hope you enjoyed my cards!  Here are the links to the other of the Catch Up Club.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, and Darlene's blogs.  They may post today, but we have all promised to post cards that we have missed the making along the way!

Seeds of Joy

Today I am posting my card for the newer The Encore Challenge!  This is a monthly challenge to be posted on the 25th with a group of friends, also from the April Retreat.  Some may post on their blog and I will note those with blogs at the end of this post.  And, some might post on other social media. Darlene came up with this challenge and these are her words:  Go and grab a stamp set, stencil or dies--your choice, that you have used once before and have always wanted to revisit it and use it again.  However, despite your best intentions, you have yet to use it!  Now's your chance! Go dig it out and have fun with it once again.  Create anything you like, a card, gift card holder, decorate a gift bag, make a refrigerator magnet...whatever lights up your creative juices! So--Encore Challenge!

My plan is to pick a different company each month to highlight and maybe even a different product than the month before.  For March,  I picked a floral set that was a collerabation with Gina K Designs and Brutus Monroe called Seeds of Joy.  I believe it was from a virtual event the two did together a few years ago.  The set has a number of pretty floral images, a cute seed packet and a number of sentiments.

For my card, I stamped the image in Hero Arts Intense Black ink on a panel.  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.   I then die cut the panel with a die from My Favorite Things called Blueprints 20, which added the scallop and stitched edge. The sentiment is from my stash.  I added some Pinkfresh Studio Lavender Jewels around the image.

I am not sure who will post each month on their blog, but this is a list of the other ladies who do have blogs.  JeanetteCarolTerryDarlene and Rebekah Be sure to come back on April 25th to see another fun card for The Encore Challenge!

The Paper Cut Clean & Simple

Today is the last day of January and I am posting a set of cards for our challenge-The Catch-up Club!  A few of my stamping friends, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry along with myself, have signed up for a number of virtual stamping events in the past 3+ years. So--here we are in our 8th month of The Catch Up Club!

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This month the creations are again from Sarah and The Paper Cut in Appleton, WIS!

These cards are from a Fun Time Thursday in December called Clean and Simple Cards. Sarah admittedly said she does not do Clean and Simple well--but she tried! I did add a bit of embossing on the front of some of the cards as I too do not do Clean and Simple very well.............   The kit also included some  Impression Obsession dies and stamp sets.  All of the beautiful cardstock is also from The Paper Cut.

Sarah offers many different kinds of classes through the year and kits can be ordered from their website.  I have a few other virtual classes from The Paper Cut that need to be completed.  And, I have a Pinkfresh Studio virtual event coming up the end of February, and I doubt I will get all of the cards done during that time--so more catch up!   I also have parts of other virtual events and classes from 2023 that need to be completed.   I am already way behind, so more Catch Up to Come!

I hope you enjoyed my cards!  Here are the links to the other of the Catch Up Club.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, and Darlene's blogs.  They may post today or tomorrow, but we have all promised to post cards that we have missed the making along the way!

Final One + 12 Card

This is my 12th and final One Plus Twelve card for 2023--this is year number 5.   For this challenge, we are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month and post on the 3rd of each month.  For this year, I had picked a Taylored Expressions stamp and die set called Graceful Ferns.  I think this set is so versatile and I picked the largest fern image to use each month.  There is a With Sympathy sentiment and coordinating die in the same set, so that is what I used this month.  The three of us are continuing this in 2024, our year #6.  I already have my stamp set picked out!

For my card this month, I had both of the leaves and the sentiment already done and saved in my stamp set package.  The leave and sentiment was heat embossed on Night of Navy.  I needed a background and went with a pretty embossing folder from Altenew called Streamlined 3D. I used The Paper Cut's Opal Metallic cardstock as the Leaf Frond was die cut with Antique Gold Metallic.  I added some blue enamel dots around the two leaves and sentiment.

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards to see the final cards of the year.  Here is a link to both Jeanette's  and Kelly's blog.   Be sure to come back on January 3rd to see what each of us pick for 2024!

Marbled Background

This is my 11th One Plus Twelve card for 2023--this is year number 5.   For this challenge, we are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month and post on the 3rd of each month.  For 2023, I picked a Taylored Expressions stamp and die set called Graceful Ferns.  I think this set is so versatile and I picked the largest fern image to use each month.  There is a With Sympathy sentiment and coordinating die in the same set, so that is what I used this month.

For my card this month, I again went to my UFO basket to pick out a background I might use this month. I found a blue and purple inked panel made with alcohol inks. I heat embossed the leaf with Brutus Monroe Gilded Embossing Powder and then die cut it out. I also embossed the sentiment with the same Gilded and used the matching die.   I die cut the coordinating leaf frond from Blackberry Bliss.  I added a bow made from blue twine and some bling around the leaves.

This is my 10th One Plus Twelve card for 2023--this is year number 5.

For my card this month, I decided to go monochromatic again with Crumb Cake. I heat embossed the leaf with Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder and then die cut it out. I also embossed the sentiment with the same Brass EP and used the matching die.   I die cut the coordinating leaf frond from Crumb Cake.  I die cut a Taylored Expressions Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 and added some foam tape behind it.  The embossed panel is a Taylored Expressions Dots of Diamonds folder.  I added some brass colored dots around the leaves.

For my card this month, I used a Taylored Expressions Masking Oval Stencil. I blended TE inks of greens--Lime Zest, Peapod and Cilantro--inside the oval.  I stamped the fern image over the blended oval. I then die cut the panel with my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 and backed it with black.  I stamped the sentiment also in black and die cut.  I added two layers of the die cut for a bit of dimension.  I added some Pinkfresh Studio Leaf Glitter Dots around the oval.

Create It 3 Ways~Sympathy

This is a set of three cards that I posted on Instagram yesterday for a hop called Create It 3 Ways! This hop is to showcase triple inspiration by creating 3 cards by choosing our own category to feature across all three cards.   The theme for August is sympathy cards and I decided to embossing along with using sentiment dies.

All three cards were made with the same embossing folder for the background--We R Memory Keepers Medallions.  I also used metallic cardstock from The Paper Cut for each background and for the sentiments. I love shimmer on all of the cards

For the first card, I picked a MFT Prayers sentiment die. The cardstock colors are Opal and Champagne, on an ivory cardbase.  I added a frame cut Pinkfresh Studio Pretty Frame die set and some Gold Satin Baubles from Trinity Stamps.

For the second card, I picked a Simon Says Stamp With Sympathy sentiment die.  This also comes with a backer.   The cardstock colors are Cuba Libre Cocktail and Ivory.  I added some gems from The Ton around the card.

For the third card, I again picked a Simon Says Stamp die set called You're In OUr Thoughts.  This one also has a backer. The cardstock colors are Opal and Champagne, on an ivory cardbase.  I added some Peach Fuzz Gems from Pinkfresh Studio.

This hop on Instagram will happen every month on the third Saturday--see, another three!  If anyone is interested in joining up, contact Amrita on IG @amritapettus.  I know I will be back hopping in September!

Tone on Tone

This is my 8th One Plus Twelve card for 2023--this is year number 5.

For my card this month, I decided to tone on tone, using Crumb Cake as the color.  I inked the fern image twice with Versamark and clear silver embossing powder on the front panel.  I then used my Stampin' Up Exposed Brick embossing folder for some texture on the panel.  I then embossed the other leaf with gold embossing powder, used the die to cut it out and placed it between the other two ferns.  I also used gold embossing powder on the sentiment, which I also die cut.  I added some Trinity Stamps Gold Satin Baubles for the final touch.

One + Twelve

This is my 7th One Plus Twelve card for 2023--this is year number 5.

For my card this month, I went into my basket of pieces and picked some parts that were from a alcohol ink class from Sarah and The Paper Cut. We used alcohol inks on various cardstocks and I had a few inked ones along with some layers of uninked.   I inked the fern image with Versamark, stamped on silver Mirricard and used silver embossing powder.  I die cut leaf images along with the sentiment, which is stamped in black, with the coordinating dies.  I then die cut the coordinating leafy frond from Blackberry Bliss as it matched the inked panel.  I added some Pinkfresh Studio Silver Glitter Drops for the final touch.
