Friday's With The Project Bin

It is Friday, so  that means that I am back with another card for The Project Bin Stamps--A Way With Words!  I am posting on alternate Fridays, using one of the great photopolymer stamp sets from this sweet company.  So, please plan to come back to see what I have created--I think you too will love these great sentiment stamp sets.  And, remember, some of the sets come with matching steel dies! Denise is the owner, founder and creator of these wonderful stamp sets.  The sentiments she has for us to ink up are just perfect for any holiday or time of year.  Please be sure to go and check them out!

I am so excited to see what great stamp sets Denise has in mind for the future.  I am sure she will have some wonderful sentiments for us to ink up and for you to consider purchasing!  I just know you too will love creating cards with these stamp sets!!!
If you want to check out more creations from the design team, be sure to check out The Project Bin Blog as often as you can.  Every day there is a different card posted by one of the design team members.

For my second card for July, I used one of the sweet Christmas sets called Joyful Song.   This set comes with 8 great stamps in this set. Three of the sentiments are very familiar Christmas Carols--you will love them!

I inked up the stamp and then layered it with Gina Marie Designs Venetian Dies.  The background papers are from an Authentique paper pack called Wonder.  I made sure to use a musical pattern in the middle!   Some red shimmer enamel dots are the only embellishment.  I really like this card and I hope you do too.

Here is the Joyful Song stamp set:

I hope you have enjoyed my card for The Project Bin. Check back on every week, any day on The Project Bin Blog for inspiration for the team but especially on alternate Friday's to check out my cards. I am so excited to be on this wonderful design team!

J-U-L-Y!

Today I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 43rd month of de-stashing-we are into our 4th year of our challenges.  We are to post on the 28th, but I had my A Card A Week Challenge card yesterday.

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Jeanette posted our July challenge--Create a card that includes something that begins with each of at least three of the letters in the word JULY!  Okay........................ I did have to put on my thinking cap!  I figured the L might be the easiest, so I picked Lemon-Lime Twist cardstock and gingham patterned paper from the Gingham, Gala 6x6 pack.  One down!  Then, I decided on Unity for the U and picked this sweet image I bought last summer at Junkie Fest at the Unity pop-up booth called Have You Heard.  I inked up the image along with one of the sentiments with Gina K Designs Warm Glow Amalgam ink. I did not color the image as I liked it the way it is--reminds of me of Guernsey or Jersey cows.  I fussy cut the image and layered under the edge of the sentiment.  For the J, I used some jute twine under the sentiment for a farm-type look.  I was stuck on Y as I wanted to be the overachiever and use all four letters, so Yellow enamel dots are the additional embellishments.  I did it--I used all 4 letters of the word JULY!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days.  Since I am a day late, some might have posted their card yesterday, so be sure to check their post for the 28th.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSJUL.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For August, Maggie is up.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

Bring It On!

It is the final Tuesday in July and time again for my A Card A Week Challenge!  The theme is Christmas in July.  I love making Christmas Cards, so this is a perfect theme.

I have a number of winter stamps from Whipper Snapper Designs.  The home store is about 15 minutes from my house and I have spent a bit of time, and money in the past!  This week and last week, I picked two of my favorite wooden stamps.  This week it is Bring It On and colored it with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I truly think this is one of the first WSD I ever bought!  Since it is so large, I made a square card 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.    I then layered it and used a corner rounded for an added touch.   I used some winter patterned paper that I had in my scrap drawer and added a strip of Pink Grosgrain Ribbon. And, the final touch, some sparkle from my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen on the snow and his sweet face!

Here is the inside of my card:

I like this card and hope you do too.  I hope you will stop back next week to see what the new theme is for August!

Dogwood Flowers

I recently watched an online video that Fleurette, owner and designer from Ink on 3, showcasing some of her awesome stamps.  I met her last year at Junkie Fest and coincidentally, I would have been driving home from Junkie Fest 2020 today!  She is so sweet and I also received a great Ink on 3 stamp at a Copic Class that Kathy Rac taught last summer at Junkie Fest.  I then bought a few stamp and matching dies sets a few weeks ago along with some fun stencils.  This card uses some of those fun purchases!

I picked the Leafy Forest stencil and used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Bundled Sage ink for the background.  I then colored the Dogwood Flowers Stamp Set with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut the image.  The sweet sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I added a few sequins along with some black baker's twine.

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I will be using more of the great stamp sets and stencils from Fleurette and Ink on 3.

Slimline Fever

Today I am joining in the fever and excitement of slimline cards.  I have resisted for a few months, but I have seen so many awesome cards online.  And, so many companies are coming out with dies for the layers for these cards--and you all know that I love layers!  I placed an order recently with Creek Bank Creations after seeing a virtual presentation a few weeks ago.

I first die-cut my layers with a set of slim stitched rectangle dies from Creek Bank.  I then picked the Sprinkles Flow 6x6 stencil from A Colorful Life and it did fit pretty well on the entire layer.  I used 4 colors of Tim Holtz Distress Oxides and did move the stencil to the edges after doing the main part of the layer.  I then picked a sweet Stampin' Up stamp set called Flower Patch and the coordinating die set Flower Flair for the images.  I inked up the stamps with some fun Stampin' Up inks and die cut the flowers and leaves.  The sentiment is from the same set.

Here is the inside of my card with a strip of washi tape:

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am going to be making more slim-line cards in the future. I have some dies coming soon from another company, so stay tuned!

Sharing The News!

This is my July card is for the monthly swap that Pam hosts on SCS.  Each month we make 8 cards and include a matching envelope.  They can be any theme for any month.  All of the swappers are wonderful and I have received awesome cards each and every month.

I inked up one of my new stamp sets from Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps called Sharing News and one of the coordinating sentiments called Networking!  I used the same image for the July Dueling Darlings Divas kits and wanted to ink it up again.  I paired it with some Black and White Checkerboard Patterned Paper again for the background as I decided to not color the image.  I used my Stampin' Up Circle Dies to cut the image and layer.  I added a few black enamel dots and Stampin' Up Black Grosgrain ribbon for the embellishments.  I think everyone can use a funny card like this!

Cupcake Kiki

Today is the 18th and the due date for a Mystery Swap on SCS. This is my card for that swap.  It is a group of us who do a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess. This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette--back in 2010 and we are now in our 59th round!  Diane is our hostess this month and sent everyone this sweet image from CC Designs Kiki La Rue called Cupcake Kiki. She will swap out the cards and send everyone the next image, which Kathi picked out! We then get to do it all again, for round #60, in September!

I think the image is so sweet and I colored with with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I cut the image and layer from my Sizzix Dotted Ovals.  The background paper is from the Bella Blvd Birthday Boy line called Eat Cake.  A few enamel dots are the only embellishment!

For my first post for July, I used one of my favorite Christmas sets and made two relatively simple cards. The set is called Luke 2 and comes with 5 wonderful Christmas sentiments.

For each of the cards, I inked up the stamp and then layered the sentiment with some dies.  The red card uses Penny Black Antique Frames and the kraft one is die cut with Stampin' Up's Stitched Rectangles.  The plaid background paper is Echo Park Celebrate Christmas and the kraft snowflakes are from Crate Paper Merry Days.  On the snowflake card, I layered two Stampin' Up ribbons--Early Espresso over some Cherry Cobbler-and added some Cherry Cobbler Brads.  The red card has some white enamel dots as embellishments.  I really like these two cards and I hope you do too.

Here is the Luke 2 stamp set:
