Friday's With The Project Bin

It is Friday, so  that means that I am back with another card for The Project Bin Stamps--A Way With Words!  Every Friday,  I post a card made from one of their great photopolymer stamp sets.  So, please plan to come back each week to see what I have created--I think you too will love these great sentiment stamp sets.  And, remember, some of the sets come with matching steel dies! Denise is the owner, founder and creator of these wonderful stamp sets.  The sentiments she has for us to ink up are just perfect for any holiday or time of year.  Please be sure to go and check them out!

I am so excited to see what great stamp sets Denise has in mind for the future.  I am sure she will have some wonderful sentiments for us to ink up and for you to consider purchasing!  I just know you too will love creating cards with these stamp sets!!!

If you want to check out more creations from the design team, be sure to check out The Project Bin Blog as often as you can.  Every day there is a different card posted by one of more of the design team members.

I used one of the two newest stamp sets called Keepsake. This image is so darn true!  I have many friends and family members who have saved every hand-made card I have sent them.  It is a Keepsake!!!  I love the sentiment words and will for sure use it often!  The second new set will be showcased on my blog next Friday!

Stencil Me In!

Today is the day I post a project for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 31st month of de-stashing-we are well into our 3rd year into our challenges.

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Kelly posted our August challenge--Stencil Me In!  Use a stencil somewhere on your card!

I have gotten a few stencils in the past few months as they seem to be quite popular right now.  This one is Diamond Circles, by Simon Says Stamp.  I used two colors of Nuvo Mousse--Coral Calypso and Orange Blush--though it does not show much color difference.  I am really enjoying using various techniques with stencils!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today or in the next few days.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSAUG.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For September, Suzy is up and we already know our fun theme.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

Someone Painted the Pool Cabana Coral!

This is the 33rd week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. August is to use a Color Challenge from SCS.  Every Tuesday I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge.

I picked Color Challenge #723 for my final card in August.  It is to use Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Coastal Cabana.  The title on SCS is Someone Painted the Pool Cabana Coral!

I thought these colors would look nice with a nautical theme and I picked a cute Gina K Designs Stamp.  The background is the Stampin' Up Seaside Embossing Folder.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.

Celebrate With Cake

This card is for the monthly swap that Pam hosts on SCS.  Each month we make 10 cards and include a matching envelope.  They can be any theme for any month.  All of the swappers are wonderful and I have received awesome cards each and every month.

I inked a fun birthday stamp and added some sweet designer paper.    I think everyone can use a birthday card like this!

Creative Card Chicks

This is my card for August's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month.

Terry is the hostess this month and sent everyone this pretty floral image for us. She also sent some patterned paper along with other cute embellishments.  It was a fun image to color up and I know that I will use this card in the future!

Here is the inside of my card with one of the sentiments, and I realize it is quite crooked...........

The Creative Card Chicks are to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars, you may see more of these wonderful creations! Many of our members also post their card in our SCS thread--so you might find more there.  This is the third month of the new round.   Be sure to come back and join us again in September!

Opposites......... Attract?

Today is third Wednesday of the month and this is my Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card! The 3 Musketeers--Kelly, Jeanette and me--are back with another challenge for July-our 27th month!  That means we are into our third year--YAY!

Kelly provided the challenge for August when she said: One of the fun parts of creating is making sense out of things that don't always make sense!  Mom used to say when my brother and I were growing up "one of these things is NOT like the other!"  I think he was the other, LOL!  But we were thick as thieves and the best of friends.

So here’s the August theme…  Opposites ....... attract?
Your challenge this month is to take two things that do not necessarily belong together and add them to your card in a creative way.  Now, I'm sure you're saying "that girl got too much sun on her vacation!   What does she mean!?"  Think of two OBJECTS, as opposed to a color (like black and white) or a unit (big and small.)  For example, a sun and a moon ...fire and water ...you get the idea.  Use at least 2 opposing stamps that you would not normally pair together on the same card.  With a little thinking, and a LOT of creativity, you can make two opposite things work together.

Ready? Set? Go!

I thought and thought and thought a bit more...............  Hmmmmm, what would work together, but were not made for each other.  I saw this Unity stamp and immediately thought of the Monday Night Football song.  Then, I thought about high school and Homecoming.  And--the parade!  So, I found a musical stamp set that was actually gifted to me by Kelly a few years ago.  It has a saxophone image, the instrument I played in band along with a trumpet, what Rebecca played in high school and still does.  She plays in our Easter brass choir. Plus, she occasionally plays taps for military funerals as she is a member of Bugles Across America and they will provide a volunteer to play whenever asked.

My card highlights two groups in high school that many times are in opposition to each other--athletics and the arts.  But, they also come together often to provide a great event, like the Homecoming parade and especially the half-time show!  I hope Kelly thinks my card shows that opposites do attract!

Here is the inside of my card.

Please be sure to check out the other Ready, Set, Go cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card.  I is up for the next theme, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd Wednesday in September!

Old Crumbs of Cherry Cobbler

This is the 32nd week of A Card a Week Challenge. One card a week--for 52 weeks--with a preset challenge for each month. August is to use a Color Challenge from SCS.  Every Tuesday I will post a card that fits the theme of the monthly challenge.

I picked Color Challenge #724 for my third card in August.  It is to use Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler.  The title on SCS is Old Crumbs of Cherry Cobbler!

I thought these colors would look nice with some of my new to me Verses anniversary stamps.  I am making some anniversary cards for a friend and this is a great color combo!  I used a Memory Box die to cut a square of Cherry Cobbler to layer over the Old Olive.  The patterned paper is actually a Christmas paper called Deck the Halls.................................

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope you will stop back each Tuesday to see my creation for my A Card a Week Challenge!  Be sure to check back to see my what colors I used for my last card!
