Valentine Chicks

This is my February Crafters of Faith card.  This is a great group that my friend Kelly started on SCS.  She hosted for 5 years and now Faith has taken over for year #6. We will continue as we have in the past with each month a new hostess gives us a scripture and challenges us to make a card with that theme.  I am the hostess this month and gave everyone this challenge:

Scripture--1 Corinthians 13:13. So now faith, hope and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love

Challenge--please make  project showcasing one of these three virtues and have three items on your project (three colors, three ribbons; three dies, etc.)

I inked up these sweet chicks from Stamping Bella called Valentine Chicks.  I colored them with my Copic Sketch markers--they just make me smile.  The sentiment is from the same set.  The background is from Canvas Corp Paper called White Mini Hearts. I added three red enamel dots for the final touch.  So--the virtue I am highlighting is Love--with the heart, chocolate cupcake and roses!  There are three cute chicks along with three red enamel dots.   I really like the look of this card!

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope you and the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month!  We are to post on the 7th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too!

Masculine Graduation

Today is the 28th of the month and it is the day I post a project for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 23rd month of de-stashing-we are coming to the end of our 2nd year into our challenges.

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Maggie posted our November challenge--Make a masculine card and use a die on it.

I used a die that I purchased last spring that I thought would make a cute graduation card and used some masculine paper too.  I added the word "Congrats" from another die in my stash!

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today or in the next few days.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSNOV.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For December, Jody is up and I cannot wait to see next our theme.  Be sure to check back to see what we create on the 28th!

Dream of Being

This is my card for January's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month.  Jeanette is the hostess this month and sent everyone this pensive image.  Jeanette noted that it looks as if she is reflecting on the year ahead and what she hopes to accomplish.  The two images Jeanette added are also very appropriate for the start of the New Year.  Jeanette also included some wonderful coffee patterned papers and some  embellishments for our card!

The Creative Card Chicks to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars today or in the next few days, you may see more of these wonderful creations!  Many of our members also post their card in our SCS thread--so you might find more there.  Carol is up for the February Challenge so please come back to see what image she has sent!

Here is the inside of my card.

This was a fun kit and I hope Jeanette and the other Creative Card Chicks like my card.

Carriers of Faith ~ Celebrate Men

If you are looking for my Melonheadz Challenge Card, please scroll down

I am back with another Carriers of Faith challenge.  Paula is our hostess this month and she gave us this wonderful theme:

Celebrate the Men in your life

Challenge: I want you to create a card or gift for your father or a male figure who has been influential in your Christian life. Create multiple projects if you wish for more than one of those special men.
2. Give the project to that man or men that you hold dear to you. Celebrate these people on or before Father's Day!
3. Use any scripture you like on your project. Just make sure the scripture has a prominent place somewhere on your project and share a pic where you used the scripture.
4. Tell us why you chose this person or persons and how they played a part in your walk with Christ.
5. Explain why you chose a particular scripture on your project.

My card is an honor to my dad who has been gone more than 20 years.  He had a pocket watch that he wore every time he had on a suit, and it usually was a three piece suit with the pocket watch in his vest pocket.  He also had a pin strip suit, so I used striped paper for the background.  I am not sure that I have a scripture that reflects time or my dad--but I do know that "Take Time to Pray" would have been a something he said often.

Here is the inside of my card:

Being Properly Caffeinated

Here is a card that I created from a kit I received in February from Jeanette.  This project is a "card of the month kit" that was just started by Jeanette on SCS. Each month, one of the ladies will receive a kit from each of the other participants.  There are 11 of us in the group, so each person will get 10 different card kits the month they are "up"!  Well--I was up first--for February.  We get all of the kits by the end of the month and then we have the next two months to create a card.  So--I have until the end of April to make and post all of the kits.  I have two more to go--tomorrow and Monday!

Jeanette sent 3 images and some great sentiments, all related to caffeine!  She does know me well.............  shhhh-I did not say that!  There were some great papers too and it was hard to chose which ones to you!  I loved the dotted ribbon, so I went with Bermuda Bay as the accent color.

Here is the inside of my card with one of the funny sentiments and two layers of the great patterned paper Jeanette sent!
