A Lucky Penny!

Today is the third Wednesday of the month and this is my Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card! The 3 Musketeers--Kelly, Jeanette and me--are back with another challenge for March, our 47th month!  That means that next month is the start of year #5 for us--WOW!

Jeanette provided the challenge for us this month:

Our posting date is March 17^th; St. Patrick’s Day… so you know I had to incorporate that into our Ready, Set, Go! theme. I did a little research and learned some interesting facts about this holiday. For instance, did you know 90% of Americans celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? I had no clue – and truthfully, I’m not even sure if that fact is accurate (how can they know???) but we’re going to go with it.

 

Our March 2021 Challenge is to make a card that is at approximately 90% green – BUT that’s too easy! Of course, we can’t stop there. As a child, I always loved hearing the myths about the leprechauns and their pots of gold at the end of rainbows; that always seemed to fascinate me… so the other part of our challenge is to use at least one ACTUAL coin in some way when making our cards. And one more thing just for fun – but not a challenge requirement – you’ll put a great big smile on my face if you also use a tad bit of the color gold on your card.

Ready? Set? Go!

I knew I wanted to use one of my Whipper Snapper Designs stamps as I have a few St. Patrick designs from them.  And, I knew when I saw this large wood-mounted stamp, how I could incorporate the coin!  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and layered it on two shades of green.  I added a flag of some shamrock ribbon.  The background paper is from Authentique called Lucky--it is so pretty! Then--I added a shiny penny from 2020 to the pot of gold--but last year was sure not very lucky!

O'Leary

It is a Tuesday and time for my card a week challenge.  March is to use a Alphabet Challenge from SCS for each week.  For this week, the challenge is 0 and the name of this Irish guy is O'Leary!

I wanted to try to find a card to honor St. Patrick Day and I was pleasantly surprised to see the name of this stamp--Perfect for the O Challenge!  I colored him up with my Copic Sketch Markers and added a few glittery green enamel dots.  He was then die cut with some Gina K Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I paired him with some Authentique Shamrock and Argyle patterned paper.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It is time for another Hot Mess card and this is card number 8.   The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success started with Kelly and the general theme is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a group of 4--Terry, Jeanette, Kelly and me. We will post a card each month on the 12th. Some times there is a theme-like this month.  And, other times we just get creative and messy! 

For this month's messiness, Terry issued a challenge to use a shamrock on the card.  I am glad I added the shamrock brad and ribbon to my card as I thought the theme was to use green and only re-read the challenge when I went to post this!

I used Gina K Designs Grass Green Glitter Glitz Gel and a great stencil from Hero Arts called Deco Pattern for the background. I love the sparkle that the Glitz Gel has for the background.  I then used one of the Melonheadz Lucy Doris images from the St. Patrick's Day set.  The sentiment is from the Essential Sentiments from A*Muse.  The border is a shamrock ribbon.

Here is the inside of my card, with some Irish Brads.  The top sign says Leprechaun Crossing and the bottom are the lost boots!

Irish You Luck

This is a early St.Patrick Day card, using a fun Whipper Snapper Designs image.  I colored the image with my Copic Markers and used some cute Authentique patterned paper called Luck!  Love the patterns!

Melonheadz Layer it Up!

I am back with another card for this week's Melonheadz Challenge.

The theme for this challenge is Layer it Up!

Dueling Darlings Blessings

It is the 15^thof the month and that means another Dueling Darlings challenge.  Since it is St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday, our hostesses Kadie for the Darlings and April for the Dazzlers went with that theme.  We were to create a card of blessing as we are all blessed to be a part of this wonderful group.

We are to also share a recent RAK we have initiated or been the recipient of.  I am a member of the Birthday RAK on SCS-so I sent out around 20 birthday cards each month to other RAK members.  I also can say that I have received a RAK card from pretty much every member of the Dueling Darlings and that makes my heart sing!

I love the vintage look of the papers and embellishments that Kadie sent--I wanted to use all of it....................  but I have lots left for more cards in the future!
