Bronze Birthday

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. This card is #70, so we are coming to the end of year #7. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a very fun group and will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For my messiness this month, I wanted to make a more masculine card, which is hard for me to do.  I picked Creative Expressions Metallic Gilding Polish in Chocolate Bronze along with a Stampin' Up Timber Embossing Folder.  I lightly swiped the bronze polish on the embossed crumb cake panel.  I then die cut the Lawn Fawn Giant Happy Birthday three times from The Paper Cut's Copper Mirricard. I added some Stampin' U Swirl Dots around the card.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like them too!  Here are the links to the other somewhat messy crafters: Darlene, Jeanette and TerryI am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up in June!

Hello

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. This card is #68, so we are in the middle of year #7.

For my messiness this month, I used Creative Expressions Metallic Gilding Pastes--Chocolate Bronze, Tarnished Gold and Enchanted Gold. I used a Gina K Designs Stencil called Fizzy and used the blending brushes that are attached to each of the pastes and pounced it over all of the dots.  I then picked some Mirricard Copper cardstock to use as a layer behind the dots and also for the die cut the word Hello from my Concord & 9th set called Everyday Sayings.  I die cut the backer from velum and added some copper bling from The Ton.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like them too!  Here are the links to the other somewhat messy crafters:   Carol, Darlene, Jeanette and TerryI am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up in March!

Hot Mess ~ Success

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card. These two cards are number 54, so we are into year #5.

For this month's messiness, I decided again to make two cards.  While I was messy, I might as well make two! The messiness this month was Purple Mist Metallic Gilding Polish made by Creative Expressions, applied over an embossed image.

For both of the cards, the background is black cardstock and I used Stampin' Up Embossing Folders.  The Thanks card used the Exposed Brick folder and the Birthday one is Parisian Flourish.  I then took the Purple Mist Gilding Polish and gently rubbed the color over the top of the embossed panel.  The Thanks is from Concord & 9th called Big Thanks and is layered three times.  Lawn Fawn makes thes Giant Happy Birthday to You and I offset a layer of a black die cut under the two layers of purple.  I added some Trinity Midnight Ball dots around the cards for a bit more shine.

I really like the look of my cards and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like them too!  Here are the links to the other somewhat messy crafters:   Carol, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry.   I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to on December 12th.

Hot Mess = Success

Today is the day after the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card.  This is card number 35 and we are coming to the end of year #3. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success started with Kelly and the general theme is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a group of 6 and we will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other 5 members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For this month's messiness, I used two colors of Creative Expressions Metallic Gilding Polish--Silver Dream and Purple Mist. I first used this medium a few months ago when Darlene sent me two tubs--and I think these are the 2 colors she sent.  Of course, since then I have added a few other tubs to my collection!  I rubbed the colors on an black panel that was embossed with Stampin' Up's Tin Tile Dynamic Folder.  I love the shine and texture--looks like a tin ceiling.  I cut the Just Because from a Simon Says Stamp die set. The words are cut from silver metallic and layered three times added dimension.  The backer is die cut from black glossy.  The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Simple Strips in Reverse-Everyday Occasions.   I added some black enamel dots as the final touch.   I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies liked it too!

Here are the links to the other members of Hot Mess ~ Success.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry'sKelly's , Carol's and Darlene's blogs. Be sure to check back a day as I bet they were on time!   I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to on May 12th.  I hope to be on time!
