Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! Today I am showing you a card I made with a fun Unity Itty Bitty stamp set called Creepy, Spooky & Scary.  How did they know that sentiment is perfect for 2020?!

I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I then die cut the image with Gina Marie Designs Square Double Frame.  I then cut another frame from black and carefully lined the image up in the frame.  Tip-you have to find the correct side as they are not all the same!  I layered the both image and black frame over a piece of striped Halloween patterned paper from Our Memories For Life Frightful & Furry paper pack.  A few orange enamel dots are the final touch!

Here is the inside of my card:

I like this card and hope you too.

Showcase Pink

Today is the day after the 28th and I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 46th month of de-stashing-we are coming to the end of 4th year of our challenges.

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Vickie posted our October challenge--October is the month when pink is seen everywhere. From sports teams to people in the community, thousands participate in National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Challenge is to use the color PINK on your creation.

I picked a Gina K Designs stencil called Floral and used my Taylored Expressions blender brushes along with Lime Zest and Lollipop inks to colored the sweet image.  I picked a sentiment from the Gina K Designs Thank You Friend stamp set.  I added some Gina K Designs Angel Aura Rhinestones as an embellishment.  I love the sparkle of these!

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSOCT.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For November, Pansy is up.  Be sure to check back to see what we create!

Summer's Wave Goodbye

This is my card for September's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month. This is the 5th month of our new round--join me through the rest of 2020 and into 2021.

Sue is the hostess this month and she sent everyone a sketch to follow along with some fun patterned paper to use.  I then picked a fall sentiment Riley and Company, Funny Bones line.  I inked the sentiment with a Kaleidacolor pad called Autumn leaves.  I used two of the patterned papers Sue--the leaves for the background and the burlap for the strip. The 3 gold sequins were then added for the final touch for this colorful card.

Here is the inside of my card, with the pumpkin stickers Sue included:

The Creative Card Chicks are to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars, you may see more of these wonderful creations!  Many of our members also post their card in our SCS thread--so you might find more there.  Be sure to come back and join us again in November with an image that Joyce sends out.

Threes and Fives!

Today is the third Wednesday of the month and this is my Ready, Set, Go Challenge Card! The 3 Musketeers--Kelly, Jeanette and me--are back with another challenge for October, our 42nd month!  That means we are well into our 4th year--YAY!

Jeanette provided this challenge: October is the month that two members of our trio celebrate birthdays. It seems fitting that we in some way incorporate that into our RSG theme… but it’s NOT a birthday theme. Instead, I’m challenging us to think of the card in thirds – and two-thirds of it needs to be the focal area. (There are lots of ways to process that idea, so let your imagination flow!)

BUT… there’s more! We don’t want to leave the other part of our trio out, and since her birthday is 5 months away, I also want you to add FIVE of something on your card (think embellishments, layers, or whatever).

Ready, Set, Go!

For my card, I first thought of the three theme and layered three patterns of Taylored Expressions Playful Patterns-Black and White-in thirds.  Then-I picked a Taylored Expressions stamp set called Gus and Gertie.  We used these two stamps two weeks ago during the Stamp Joy virtual event, and I knew I needed the full set-so I ordered!  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and added the fun sentiment.  Gus and Gertie were then layered over the left two thirds and 5 Gina K Designs Dazzling Diamond Rhinestones were added to the right 1/3 panel.  And, there are also 5 layers of paper on the card.  What a fun and creative theme Jeanette!

Here is the inside of my card:

Please be sure to check out the other Ready, Set, Go cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards! I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card. Kelly is up for the next theme, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on the 3rd Wednesday in November!

Love & Cheer

This is my October card is for the monthly swap that Pam hosts on SCS.  Each month we make 8 cards and include a matching envelope.  They can be any theme for any month.  All of the swappers are wonderful and I have received awesome cards each and every month.

I inked up one of my great Christmas sentiment stamps from Hampton Arts and the Hot Fudge studio called Love & Cheer!   I layered the image over two kinds of DSP from Stampin' Up's Home For Christmas patterned paper pack.  Three red pearls are the only embellishment.  I think everyone can use a Christmas card.

Fall Scarecrow

I decided to play along with my friend Kelly's challenge on SCS--Fall Scarecrow.  And, I thought it would be fun to make a slimline card as we know these guys are tall and thin!

I found a fun digital image called Scarecrow in my files, from the time I was on the Melonheadz Design Team--that seems so long ago.  I love all of her fun and colorful designs and this one is perfect for the challenge.  I printed it out and cut it out with one of the slim double stitched oval dies from Creek Bank Creations. I added a appropriate sentiment from the old wooden Stampin' Up Short & Sweet set.  This was fun card to make and I hope Kelly and you think so too!

The keyword on SCS is CAS608--be sure to check out the other fall scarecrow creations!
