This is my card for a newer swap called the SIS--Surprise Image Swap.   This is card #4 and it is the same premise as before with the UIS or mystery image swap. The group will be a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The surprise part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--the 18th of every other month.   The image for this round was provided by Carol.  She will swap the cards and include the new image for round #5 that Laura Jean stamps in everyone's return envie. Then--we do it all again in October!

Carol sent everyone two images and a number of sentiments from a stamp set from Hampton Arts/Tracey Hey.  I colored the sweet dachshund image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I did cut the image and the black frame, along with the sentiment with my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2.  The patterned papers in the background are from Basic Grey called Max and Whiskers-Goldie. I have had these papers forever as I loved all lines of Basic Grey when I first started stamping.   I added some brown jewels from The Ton as the final touch.

Love & Cheer

This is my October card is for the monthly swap that Pam hosts on SCS.  Each month we make 8 cards and include a matching envelope.  They can be any theme for any month.  All of the swappers are wonderful and I have received awesome cards each and every month.  

I inked up one of my great Christmas sentiment stamps from Hampton Arts and the Hot Fudge studio called Love & Cheer!   I layered the image over two kinds of DSP from Stampin' Up's Home For Christmas patterned paper pack.  Three red pearls are the only embellishment.  I think everyone can use a Christmas card.

For my final card for December, I made a card for the New Year.  The sentiment is from Hampton Art and I have had the stamp for a long time.  It is stamped with Brilliance Galaxy Gold. The background is Stampin' Up's Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I added Bermuda Bay Mini Chevron Ribbon along with a pair of gold wine glass brads.

I really like the look of this card and hope you do too.

Happy New Year

This is my card for the December Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 12th month of de-stashing--our first full year is in!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Maggie posted our December challenge--Create a New Year's card without an alcohol theme.

I have had this stamp for a few years and I do not think it has been inked up.  I am not sure it was meant to be a New Year image--but I think it fits just fine!  I paired it with some of the sweet Stampin' Up Winter Wonderland Designer vellum.  I also used some gold embossing powder--it has been awhile since I did that too.  I think I did dig into my stash for this card!

Color Me Love

This is the card for the 33rd round of the Unidentified Image swap on SCS.  It is a group of ladies who are a part of a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The unidentified part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--that was yesterday!   The image for this round was provided by Linda.   She will swap the cards and include the next image that Paola, our next hostess in their return envie.  And then we get to do it all again--for round #33--in October!

This is one of the two cards I made for Cathy's Thinking of You Swap on SCS.  I have not inked up this stamp yet and I think it is a perfect 'thinking of you" sentiment to put a smile on someone's face! I also think the bright colors also would make someone smile! I am sure I will get back some great cards in the swap!

Happy Easter ~ Tami's Card Kit

Here is Card #5 that I created from a kit I received in February from Tami.  This project is a "card of the month kit" that was just started by Jeanette on SCS. Each month, one of the ladies will receive a kit from each of the other participants.  There are 11 of us in the group, so each person will get 10 different card kits the month they are "up"! We get all of the kits by the end of the month and then we have the next two months to create a card.  So--I have until the end of April to make and post all of the rest of the cards.   5 done and 5 to go!

Tami sent the cutest little bunny image and a couple of matching sentiments.  I loved the papers she sent and had to go with the bright dots!  I used two of the ribbons on the front as I layered the thin pink over the white.

Dueling Darlings Kickoff!

It is the 15^thof the month and that means another Dueling Darlings challenge. Our hostesses for August are LJ-Laura Jean for the Divas and Terry for the Dazzlers.

I loved all of the papers and embellishments that Carol sent--I wanted to use all of it!  I was able to add a few more elements to the inside of my card than I typically do.  Terry and LJ also wanted us to share some of our favorite fall memories and they said it did not need to be sport related.  Well--mine is for sure.  I was a high school volleyball coach for 19 years, so that provided some wonderful memories for me-participating in the state tournament three times was a highlight!  I also love Friday night high school football and Saturday afternoon college football games.  My godson/great-nephew JL-Jack Lucas--is going to be attending UW-Whitewater as a Freshman this fall.  He is also going to be on the football team and the university is about 35 miles from my house.  I am sure the next 4-5 years will include attending many football games with my family.  Then--Sunday is Packer Day and my card shows off the Green and Gold!

Colorful Maple leaf

 

This is one of the two cards that I made for Samantha’s recent Falling For Fall cards.  I love fall as the colors of the leaves are so pretty and this year, despite the drought and worries that the colors would be less than stellar—the leaves are outstanding!  And, we have had little wind, so they are staying on the trees for us to enjoy!

 

This is a pretty simple card—the colors of the ink and the wording of the paper is what stand out.

Thanksgiving Leaf Card for Karly's Swap

This is the fifth of the six cards that I made for Karly’s annual Holiday Assortment Swap on SCS. I really like to do Thanksgiving cards and love the colors of fall!  I thought a ribbon would be too wide on the card, so I used a piece of rust raffia.
