Scarecrow

Today is the 9th of the month and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. This round, Jeanette is the hostess and sent out a cute scarecrow image from The Stamps of Life called Scarecrow 2.  She included one image that was on a full panel and two additional images that were die cut.  Jeanette also included 2 sentiments from the same set.   For September this is card #133 and we are now in year #12!  I cannot believe this trio has been going strong for 12 strong years!

I colored one of the die cut scarecrow images with my Copic Sketch Markers. I then picked the Spellbinders Embossing Folder called Oak Forest for my background and used a panel of Copper Metallic cardstock from The Paper Cut.  I used a pair of old Stampin' Up tag punches to cut the one of the sentiments and a black backer.   I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of cute cards!  Kelly is up for our October challenge, so please be sure to join us again.

Thankful

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 94th month of de-stash, so we are into our 8th year of challenges.  I cannot believe my thought about using what we have is now 8+ years old!   I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Tracie posted our October challenge--Use a stencil on your card.

I picked a large 5x8 stencil from Simple Stories called Acorn Love. I then ink blended these fall Taylored Expressions ink colors--Honey, Mulled Wine and Sweet Potato Pie over the stencil.  I used the same size ivory cardstock so I was able to make two cards with the colorful bases.  I die cut one with my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2. Early Espresso is the cardbase and Pecan Pie is the layered color.  I then picked a Simon Says Stamp Die set called Chunky Thankful and used the same cardstock colors.  One I used the frame and the other I included the middle of the letters.  I added some Pinkfresh Studio Butterscotch Glitter Drops around the words.

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSOCT.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For November, Lorraine is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

Brutus Monroe Autumn Vibes

Today is the last day of September and I am posting a set of cards for our challenge-The Catch-up Club!  A few of my stamping friends, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry along with myself, have signed up for a number of virtual stamping events in the past 4+ years.  One of the benefits of these events are that they are available to rewatch or even watch for the first time at a later date as they are all recorded. The 4 of us "try" to watch live and chat by texting during the event.  But, life steps in and there are times when one or more of us are not participating during the live.  Then, the kits from sponsors sits in our stamping area until we are ready to watch the video and create.  During one of the events, we decided we needed to push ourselves (and each other) to get some of these events done!   So--we all decided to devote one day a month, the last day of the month for the somewhat procrastinators that we are, to post cards we missed making.  So--here we are in our 15th month of The Catch Up Club!

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  The cards are the designs of the other instructors from these classes.  I am just recreating the cards from the class. This month the creations are from Scrapbook & Cards Event called Crop & Create Delivered, from September of 2023.  This is card is from Brutus Monroe class called Autumn Vibes. The past 4 days was the 2024 event and my plan was to have all of the 2023 classes done.  I was close.......................

The fun kit included a stamp set, a matching die set, a cute vibe stencil along with three small bottles of Aqua Pigment-liquid watercolors.  They were very fun to use on all three cards!

I hope you enjoyed my cards!  Here are the links to the other of the Catch Up Club.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, and Darlene's blogs.  They may post today or tomorrow, but we have all promised to post cards that we have missed the making along the way!  And, there are more pouches of virtual events stacked in my stamp room.  So--I will be sure to have more Catch-up-Club cards to come!!!!

Sue posted our Sept3mber challenge--Make a fall card usings any type of embossing as the focal point.

I picked an embossing folder from Stampin' Up called Leaf Fall and embossed a Crumb Cake panel.  I then used a blending brush with fall colored inks--red, orange and yellow--over the leaves on the panel.  I added one of my favorite fall stamps--an Impression Obsession wood mounted stamp called Watch the Leaves! I added a few Trinity Stamps Fireball baubles around the leaves.  The card base is also Crumb Cake.

Fall Cards from The Paper Cut

For the past week, I have been making cards from kits that Sarah from The Paper Cut in Appleton, has created.  I have done both Fall/Thanksgiving cards along with Christmas cards.  These three cards are from a class from last November!  I guess they have been sitting in my box for a bit.......................

This was a Fun Time Thursday kit called Fall Cards.  Everything Thursday night, Sarah is live on Facebook and You-Tube making a card or two.   Once a month, on the second Thursday, she makes a kit available for purchase and we can craft along.  I typically do not do these events live as I rarely craft in the evening, so I am happy they are saved to craft when I get to them.   In this case, a year later!

All of these card use products from The Paper Cut along with stamp sets from Impression Obsession.  The top left card is called a Semi Funky Fold and it has lots of layers on the panels.  Here is a picture of the card opened up:

The turkey card on the right is a Flip-it card and this is it opened:

The final card is a slimline and we used alcohol inks for the colorful panel.

I really like all three cards and I really love Sarah's classes!  I mailed a few of these cards yesterday for Thanksgiving!

Reminder--these are not my own designs!  These cards are the designs from Sarah and The Paper Cut in Appleton, WIS!   I am just recreating the cards from the class.

Thankful Thoughts

Today is the 15th and this is my card for our The Creative Crew!  We are a group of 7 and all one team--Jeanette, Carol, Darlene, Lorraine, Terry, Tracie and me. Each month will be a new challenge posed by one of the members sending out a kit.  This month Lorraine is the hostess and sent us a sweet kit with the theme Thankful Thoughts.

Lorraine stamped this cute CTMH image called Autumntime.  She also included two sentiments from Stampin' Up and I placed one on the inside. I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and backed it with some of the brown Bazzill that Lorraine included.  I wanted to showcase both of the patterned papers she sent, so I made a flap card. I added some of the embellishments around the card and a bow at the top. This was fun card to make!

Here is the inside with the sentiment.

I hope all of The Creative Crew Gals enjoy my card this month.  Please be sure to stop in to see what fun crafty cards are posted this month.  All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate Lorraine does not have a blog, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the wonderful creations this month!

We will be back in December with the image Darlene will be sending out.  Be sure to check in with us on the 15th to see what fun she has planned!

Gina K Designs Autumn Cards

Last week I participated in a Gina K Designs virtual class called Autumn-Inspired Stenciled Florals.  This was a part of the Bella Blvd She Loves Color Event!  I even watched the class live and stamped along to make all three cards--no catch-up club for me this time!

We received three stencils in the class kit along with a stamp set.  Included also was 5 ink cubes, 4 blender brushes, cardstock for the 3 cards and some gold bling. I decided to use two of my own Gina K stamp sets for my cards.  The designs of these cards were Gina's and I did follow her instructions along the way.  Two of the cards use a double stenciling technique and it gives the florals such a unique look.

I really like all three cards and I really love Gina's classes!  I now have new supplies for more cards!

Autumn Wheelbarrow

Today is the 15th and this is my card for our The Creative Crew!  We are a group of 7 and all one team--Jeanette, Carol, Darlene, Lorraine, Terry, Tracie and me. Each month will be a new challenge posed by one of the members sending out a kit.  This month is the start of the second round for our group.  Jeanette gave us a challenge this month to use our own supplies to create something you (I) love.  It might be a favorite stamp company, a favorite color scheme or embellishment, spending time in nature, grandchildren, etc.  I decided to go with my favorite time of year--Fall!

I love all of the colors of fall and I like the crisp fall air.  It also means that Thanksgiving is on the way and that is my favorite family holiday!  I also enjoy taking walks and hikes in the fall with the leaves under my feet and many times, falling all around when hiking.  I also like exchanging my polo shirts in the main closet with the pullovers from the spare bedroom closet--and even putting my birks away and pulling out my fuzzy slippers!

I picked a sweet image from Great Impressions, but it does not have a name on it.  The old wooden wheelbarrow filled with pumpkins and leaves all around is such a quintessential autumn image! I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut with with a Spellbinders Label 8 die set.  I found some patterned paper with some sweet autumn words and layered with fall colors.  I added some twine behind the die cut image and a few orange enamel dots around the image. This was fun card to make!

We will be back in November with the image Lorraine will be sending out.  Be sure to check in with us on the 15th to see what fun she has planned!

Give Thanks!

Today is the 9th and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the Penny Black Harvest Breeze image and sentiments that Kelly sent out for our September card, #109! That means we starting year number 10 with this fun challenge! 10 YEARS--WOW!!!!! All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a long time!

Kelly sent Jeanette and me this cute Penny Black image of the bear and additional friend--a hedgie!  She also included 2 sentiments.  I colored the images with my Copic Sketch Markers--I had to include his friend too!  Kelly had die cut both of the images for us--thanks loads! I picked the fun patterned paper for the background--a forest for the animals.  I decided to add an Ellantina cover plate over the top that I layered three times.  I added the two animals, along with the sentiment over the lattice frame.   I did not add any bling to my card this time!  I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  I am up for our October challenge--I had better get thinking of what I want to send.  Please be sure to join us again.

Hello Harvest

I am posting a card for a series I called Stampin' Up Sundays.  I actually started 2022 out with a card in January and one in February.  Then--crickets until now...........  So--here is my October Stampin' Up Sunday card--on Halloween Eve!  I picked a newer set called Hello Harvest and the coordinating dies called  Rustic Pumpkin.  I colored the images with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut them with their coordinating dies.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set. The background was embossed with one of my favorite folders--Stampin' Up's Pinewood Planks!   I layered the floral image on the top of the pumpkin and they are both popped up.  I added some Stampin' Up Linen Thread under the circle sentient.  The orange enamel dots are the final touch!

I hope you enjoyed my card and that you also have a very Happy Halloween tomorrow. We have trick or treating in our neighborhood this afternoon, so I am sure I will sample a few treats!

Pumpkins and Sunflowers

I love fall colors and there is a ton of orange outside of our windows from a beautiful maple tree!  And, there are a few pumpkins and gourds on our front porch and also many fall colors among the decorations inside of our house.  So--here is a card highlighting the color orange!   I colored the Whipper Snapper Designs Pumpkins and Sunflower Mix image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  The fun patterned paper is very shiny and is from Reminisce called Fall Leaves.  I used an older Stampin' Up edge-lit die for the center layer.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and is from one of their sentiment strip packs. I added a few green sequins for the final touch.  I think this is a fun fall card and will be sent for Thanksgiving.

Last Mystery Image Swap

Today is the 18th and the due date for a Mystery Image Swap on SCS. This is my card for that swap this month.  It is a group of us who do a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess. This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette--way back in 2010.  Terry is our hostess this month and sent everyone this cute image from Altenew called Autumn Bounty. This is the 67th round for this group, but it is the last round.  It is being combined with the unidentified image swap, with a new name of Surprise Image Swap--SIS!  I have sent Terry images for the swappers and the next round will not be due until February 18th in 2022.  We will then be one combined group of 13 and will continue from there!

I think this image is so perfect for this time of year.
I colored it with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I die cut the image with a Gina Marie Designs Pierced Chain Rectangle die. The patterned paper is Illustrated Faith Seasons of Gratitude Paper Pack and is tone on tone leaves.   I added a few orange enamel dots along with linen thread as the final touch.  I did not add a sentiment so this card can be used for pretty much any fall occasion.

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope you and all of the mystery swappers like my card.  If you check my sidebar on the left, you might see some other swappers who have posted their cards today or in the next few days.
