Catch Up Club Month Two

My A Year in Review--looking back at the cards I liked the best each month of 2022--will be posted on Monday, the 2nd.  Please Come Back!

Today is the last day of December and I am posting a set of cards for our new challenge--Catch-up Club!  A few of my SCS and stamping friends, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry along with myself, have signed up for a number of virtual stamping events in the past 2 1/2 years.  One of the benefits of these events are that they are available to rewatch or even watch for the first time at a later date as they are all recorded. The 4 of us "try" to watch live and chat by texting during the event.  But, life steps in and there are times when one or more of us are not participating during the live.  Then, the kits from sponsors sits in our stamping area until we are ready to watch the video and create.  During one of the events, we decided we needed to push ourselves (and each other) to get some of these events done!   So--we all decided to devote one day a month, the last day of the month for the procrastinators that we are, to post cards we missed making.  They could be from a virtual event or maybe another challenge that was missed.   So--here we are in our 2nd month of The Catch Up Club!

These 3 sets of cards are from the virtual holiday card class sponsored by Sarah and The Paper Cut in Appleton.  All three of these cards are/were also available this year as a Christmas Card kit of all pieces to make 25 cards!  Sarah hosted this class about a month ago and I bought two of the kits.  There is a fourth card and that is sitting on my desk and will be posted later.

Sarah offers many different kinds of classes through the year and kits can be ordered from their website.

I hope you enjoyed my cards!  Here are the links to the other of the Catch Up Club.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry's, and Darlene's blogs.  They may post today or tomorrow, but we have all promised to post cards that was have missed the making along the way!

Toasty Treats

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 72nd month of de-stash, so we are at the end of our 6th year of challenges. I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Lorraine posted our December challenge--Make a card or another project with a gingerbread man/woman image or DSP (or something sweet if you don't have one)

I knew I did not have a gingerbread stamp, so I looked through my bin of Christmas patterned paper to see if I had any that worked.  I found this sweety Peppermint Candy paper and knew that would work.  Now to find a stamp!  I  looked my my drawer of wood mounted winter stamps and knew I had this cute Impression Obsession stamp called Toasty Treats!  Both of these cute mugs look so sweet! I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and used a corner rounder on the image and the backer.  I then die cut a gold scallop border from a The Paper Cut Die and added a layer of Stampin' Up Real Red Ribbon over the top.  I like the shine of the gold with the candy cane background!

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSDEC.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For January, I am up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

Peace on Earth

 Merry Merry Christmas Day!!!!!

I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas Day and also had a Blessed Christmas Eve.

This card has been calling my name for a few weeks as this Taylored Expressions Peace on Earth Cutting Plate has been sitting on my desk since my order came back in October!  I finally decided to make the card and used some stunning silver cardstock from The Paper Cut called MirriLava--I love the wavy look of the shine!  I then picked a background I had made a bit ago with blue and purple alcohol inks on Yupo. I first placed some gold Mirricard behind the church windows and door before placed the inked background behind the die cut panel.  The Peace on Earth foiled words are from Pinkfresh Studio and are perfect for this card--and I did not pick it because of the name of the cutting plate--that is a coincidence.  The cardbase is Night of Navy.  No embellishments needed--lots and lots of shine on this card!

Jingle Gnomes

Today I am showing you my December card for my challenge for 2022--At Home With Gnomes. I did not do very well with this challenge for myself this year......  In fact, I made a post in January and now one in December!  Okay--so I did bookend 2022 with the At Home with Gnomes challenge--but I will try to do better in 2023 as I do want to continue...................  They sure are so dang cute!

This was a pretty easy card to put together as I had all of the layers for this card on my desk as a card kit.  Sarah, from The Paper Cut, included this "kit" in a recent order and decided the shiny colors of the cardstocks would be perfect for a winter card and for my gnome challenge.  For this card, I picked a gnome stamp from a very fun set from Kat Scrappiness called Christmas Gnomes.  I colored one of the sweet gnomes from the set with my Copic Sketch Markers. The sentiment is one of the cute ones from the same set.  All of the layers are from The Paper Cut--shiny and glittery!   I added some rhinestones for the final touch!

I hope you come back and join me during 2023 for more At Home with Gnome cards!  I do promise to have more than two!

Taylored Expressions times Two!

Here we are--this is the Double Duty Day!  This is the 24th month, so we are at the end year #2.

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  We will post both cards on our blog on the the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  We will be sure to have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

For December, the company we are using is Taylored Expressions. This is a favorite company of all 4 of us and we have kept Taylor in the rotation for both years--and I do believe TE will be back in 2023 too!  The company has such awesome stamps/dies/stencil/inks, great customer service and wonderful events--in person and virtual!

I picked a sweet mini set called Sleigh Bouquet--stamp set and coordinating die.  I stamped one on white and the other sleigh on ivory.  I colored both with my Copic Sketch Markers and die cut each of them.   I also die cut one of the 4 sentiments with a die from Stampin' Up Tasteful Labels and punched out the other with an oval punch.  I recently used a fun package of Stampin' Up 6x6 Specialty Designer Series Paper called Feels Like Frost and decided one of the sleighs would look perfect in front of the set of trees. For the pink card, I used a Sizzix Tim holtz Embossing Folder called Poinsettia Pattern and added some red rhinestones in the middle of some of the flowers.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for our group.  Please be sure to check out the other Double Duty cards. Here is a link to Jeanette'sDarlene’s  and  Carol's blogs.   I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of sets of great cards.

Gina K Designs is the company that is up for our January challenge, so be sure to check out our cards on the 22nd!

Red, Green and Gold Christmas Cards

Today I am posting 4 cards for a SCS Challenge by Misti Monday.  The theme this month is to make a Christmas Card with red, green and gold.  I make cards for our church every year and I think sentiment stamps are perfect for Christmas cards.  Plus, it is a good start for the 2023 cards now!

I first picked a sweet package of Christmas themed Stampin' Up Designer Series Paper called All is Bright to use on all of the cards.  There is great colors in each of the sheets.  Each of the stamps is an unmounted rubber stamp that I used my Misti to ink up.  I always use my Misti for stamping as I am sure to get full coverage on my images--especially with sentiment stamps!  For each of these sentiments, I used Versamark and then gold embossing powder.  I always stamp twice with Versamark to be sure to get enough ink for good embossing.  I used Stampin' Up Red Red or Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green cardstock for all of the cards, along with Gold Mirricard from The Paper Cut.

For the first card, I used a Rubbernecker Stamp called Hope & Love. The sentiment is layered in gold and I added red rhinestones for the final touch!

For my second card, I used a stamp from The Artful Stamper called Glory to God.  The dies are ovals from Stampin' Up.  I added the gold pearls for the final touch!

For my third card,  I used an older stamp from Touché Rubber Stamps called Spirit of Christmas. The die that looks like a book is from Spellbinders Nestabilities called  Labels 7. The red rhinestones complete the card.

For the final card, I went with another Rubbernecker Stamp called Under The Tree.  The oval dies are Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Ovals.  I added the Real Red satin ribbon flag and a few red rhinestones for the final touch!

I hope you like my sentiment Christmas Cards and I am sure the people at church that buy them for a donation to our Building and Grounds Mission Team like them too!

Elf Emma With Lights

This is my card for a swap called the SIS--Surprise Image Swap.   This is card #5  for our group.  It is a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The surprise part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--the 18th of every other month.   The image for this round was provided by Diane.  She will swap the cards and include the new image for round #7 that Terry stamps in everyone's return envie. Then--we do it all again in February!

Diane sent everyone this sweet Christmas image by Paper Nest Dolls called Elf Emma with Lights.  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers. I added some Pops of Color Glitter called Snowflake on the fur of her elf hat!  I picked a 6x6 paper pack by Stampin' Up called Wrapped in Plaid and decided on three patterns for the background.  I layered each strip with gold mirri cardstock.  I added some Taylored Expressions Gold Drip Drops for a bit of bling.

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations.  The due date is today, the 18th, or they may post in the upcoming days. You can also check out SCS and use the keyword SIS06 to see some posted there.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

Tis the Season to Sparkle

Today I am sharing a sweet card that I made with some things that were laying on my craft desk!

I had die cut this sentiment for another card, but it did not work. The die is called Tis the Season to Sparkle from Creative Expressions.  I cut it from Silver Mirricard from The Paper Cut and layered it three times.   I picked a 6x6 paper pack by Stampin' Up called Feels Like Frost and chose this pretty scene.  I added some rhinestones for a bit of bling.  That is a very simple card!

I think this is a very pretty card--and that you do too!  Sometimes the simplest ones are the cutest!

Peace

Today is the the 12th and it is time for another Hot Mess card.  This is card number 43, so we are into year #4. The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are a very fun group and will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For this month's messiness,  I decided to do a wintery card.  I picked a Taylored Expressions Stencil--Winter Beauty and a tub of Nuvo Glacier Paste in Quicksilver.  I used my spatula to cover the stencil with the silvery glitter paste over a piece of navy cardstock.  I then used some Silver Mirricard from The Paper Cut for the carbase as well as the word Peace.  This die is from Gina K Designs and also comes with a backer that I did not use.  I die cut and stacked the word three times for dimension.  I added some Taylored Expressions Silver Drip Drops as the final touch.

I really like the look of my card and hope you do too.  I also sure hope my fellow messy ladies like it too!  Here are the links to the other crafters:  Carol, Darlene, Jeanette and Terry.   I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy this month and was successful in making some great cards!   Be sure to check back to see what we are up to on January 12th.

Hot Cocoa Hugs

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the image from Your Next Stamp called Hot Cocoa Hugs that Jeanette sent out for our December card, #100! That means we are in the middle of year number 7 with this fun challenge! All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a long time! AND--yes, we have already decided to be back in 2023-year #8!

I think this is such a pretty sweet image. I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and rounded two of the corners. The background papers are from Simple Stories Simple Vintage Rustic Christmas-Wrapped with Care.  I added some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine under the sweet sentiment. I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  They may post today or tomorrow, so be sure to check out their blogs for their card!  I am up for our January challenge and have already sent the images to my compadres!!!!!  Please be sure to join us again.

For Unto Us a Child is Born

This is my December Crafters of Faith card.  This is a sweet group on SCS that Faye hosts.  We are on year #7. We will continue as we have in the past with each month a new hostess gives us a scripture and challenges us to make a card with that theme.

Lisa is the hostess this month and gave everyone this challenge:

Scripture:  Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Challenge:  Make a card based on this verse.

I picked a couple of Taylored Expressions die sets--Arched Nativity and Arched Stackets.  I die cut the Nativity from black cardstock and then used my Stampin' Up Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder for a bit of texture.  Then then die cut two layers of arches from silver and gray cardstock to layer behind the black. I also added some foam tape between the black and the arches for some depth.   I added a blue alcohol inked panel behind the entire scene for the sky panel.  The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp sentiment strips package.  No embellishments needed!

I hope you and the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month!  We are to post on the 7th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too!   And we do plan to continue into 2023, so please check back.

Final One + 12 for this year

This is my final One Plus Twelve card for 2022! And--yes, all three of us will be back for 2023 with a new image each month! 2023 will be the start of year number 5.   For this challenge, we are to use just one stamp, to make a card every month and post on the 3rd of each month.  For 2022, I picked newer Stampin' Up set called Nature's Harvest.  I think this set is so pretty and I picked the largest coneflower or sunflower image to use each month.  There is also a coordinating die set called Harvest so I can use that some months too.  So--this is the last time for this stamp set, but I am so happy I have made 12 cards with it this year and know I will continue to use it in the future!

For my card this month, I went back to coloring the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I think this is such a pretty image and sometimes the simplest layout is best.  The background is from Sizzix and Tim Holtz called Brickwork 3-D texture fades embossing folder.  The sentiment is again from the same stamp set and I layered it three times.   I added some Stampin' Up Linen Thread under the sentiment for the final touch.

Please be sure to check out the other One plus Twelve cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's and Kelly's blog. I am sure you will enjoy checking out each of our final cards using the same stamp for 2022. I hope Kelly and Jeanette like my card and that you might too! Be sure to come back on January 3rd to see what stamp each of us picks for 2023.  The One plus Twelve Challenge continues into year #5!
