For The Love of Chocolate

Today is the 10th and the day we are to post our Stamp What? challenge with the three collaborators you have seen many times in the past--Kelly, Jeanette and me! We started this in January of 2020, so we are now well into our second year of this fun challenge.  Kelly came up with the challenge to randomly pick a Stampin' Up set and make a card with that set.  Get the dust off of those forgotten Stampin' Up sets!

I decided when this group challenge started to only use the wooden Stampin' Up stamps that are on my bottom shelves.  So this month, I randomly picked the For The Love of Chocolate set!  The year on the stamps is 2002, so it will be 20 years old next year.  This is one set I will never part with!

I stamped the huge candy Kiss with Basic Gray and fussy cut it out.  I layered it on a circle I die cut from Gina Marie Designs Cross Stitched Circles.  The patterned paper in the background is from a Stampin' Up 6x6 pack called Have A Cuppa--I love the the tiny hearts.  There is a layer of Bindakote Silver Cardstock to give the card a bit of shine!  I added some silver elastic cording under one of the sentiments from the same set.   A few Taylored Expressions Black Drip Drops complete the card.

Here is the inside of my card, with a strip of the patterned paper:

I like the look of my card this month and I hope you do too.  Be sure to check out Jeanette and Kelly's cards.  I am sure they have some fun cards with those "oldies but goodies" stamp sets by Stampin' Up!  And be sure to check back every month on the 10th to see what we create!

O Holy Night

Today I am showing you the 2nd card that I made for Ashley's Christmas in July swap on SCS.  I made two cards and the first card was here on my blog yesterday.  I picked sweet church image from Sum More Fun Stamps called O Holy Night.  I heat embossed the image with silver powder.  I also embossed the sentiment, which is from a Love From Lizi stamp set.  I layered the black cardstock on a piece of Bindakote Metallic Silver Glossy and Real Red.  A few rhinestones are the final touch.

I hope Ashley and you and all of the swappers like my card.  We all need more Christmas Cards and July is the perfect time to make them!   Be sure to check back on yesterday's post to see my first card for the swap!

Messiness Grows!

Today is time for another Hot Mess card and this is card number 13. We are now starting year two and we have added 2 new messy ladies to our group--Carol and Darlene!  The idea of Hot Mess ~ Success started with Kelly and the general theme is to Get Messy and you will have Success!  Messiness can be almost anything that we come up with--glitter, alcohol inks, glimmer glitz, sponged backgrounds, etc., anything that is a bit messy.  We are now a group of 6 and we will post a card each month on the 12th.  The links to the other 5 members are on my left side bar and I will also link them at the bottom at this post.

For this month's messiness,  I used some of my Tim Holtz alcohol inks and a bottle of alcohol pearl ink.  I dropped the colors on Yupo paper and used some blending solution along with an air blower to move the colors around.  I then dropped some pearl on the top and moved it around just a bit.   The die sentiment is MFT-My Favorite Things and edge is from Pretty Pink Posh called Scallop Borders.  They were cut from Silver Metallic and the words were layered three times. A few silver sequins are the final touch!

Here is the inside of my card, with a thin strip trimmed from the front:

Here are the links to the other members of Hot Mess ~ Success.  Please be sure to check out Jeanette's, Terry'sKelly's , Carol's and Darlene's blogs.  And, welcome Carol and Darlene to our group!   I am sure you will enjoy seeing how everyone got messy and was successful in making some great cards!   We will all be back each month, so be sure to check back to see what we are up to on September 12th.
