Gift of Music

This is my May Crafters of Faith card.  This is a sweet group on SCS that Faye hosts.  Jeanette is the hostess this month and gave everyone this challenge:

Scripture:  Psalm 104:33 I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

Challenge: Create a card/project inspired by one of your favorite hymns.

I looked and looked for an image to use for the theme, but did not not come up with one.  However, I picked one of my favorite D. Morgan stamps called Gift of Music.  I stamped the image and colored parts with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I layered the image on black and then on some musical patterned paper.   I added a few colorful enamel dots for the final touch!

I hope you and the others from the Crafters of Faith group like my card this month!  And, I hope that Jeanette is not disappointed that I did not totally follow her challenge.   We are to post on the 7th of each month, so if you look on my sidebar, you may see other creations.  I know that there will be many posted in the COF thread on SCS too!

Darlene's Kit-Card #2

Once again, I am here to share the cards that I have made with the fun card kits I received in January.  I was so excited to be the recipient of these snowy themed card kits in a swap that I am hosting on SCS.  I received 10 kits and I am making 2 cards from each kit.  So--stay tuned as I will be making the wintry cards and posting more of them soon!

This is card kit #4, from Darlene and this is my second card from her kit.  She sent quite a variety of images and I had a hard time picking just two. But, In knew I had to pick this one fro D. Morgan as that is a signature company for Darlene.  This image is called Guardian Angel. Darlene also included some fun patterned paper by Echo Park Paper called Warm & Cozy along with many, many fun embellishments. I was able to make 2 cards and I posted the first card yesterday-check back if you want to check it out.

Be sure to check back to see the rest of my creations from this fun card kit swap in the next few weeks!

I colored the sweet image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I picked the starry patterned paper for my background, though not much of it is peaking through.  The only embellishment is some navy pearls.

Here is the inside of my card:

Thanks for a great kit Darlene--these were two fun cards to make!

D. Morgan My Special Friend

It is the 28th and that means a new post for our group on SCS.  This is post #5 for Challenge Your Stash!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group and the card is due to be posted on the 28th. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Terry posted our May challenge.  Use your favorite floral stamps for your focal image. You can make a card for any occasion, but make sure you focus on flowers.

I love D. Morgan stamps and I have a few of them.  This is one of my favorites.  I cannot do justice in my coloring though for her wonderful images.  This card is going to be sent to a friend who loves these images even more than me.  However, she is not a fan of pink, but I hope she likes the card anyway..........

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSMAY.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Chickadee

I am back with another card kit.  I received the kits in January and I did get them all done in February!   My goal for this card kit group this time around was to make two projects from every kit.  Every person who sends me a kit includes quite a few images--and many times there are a couple of different images included in each kit.  And, the senders were very generous in the papers and embellishments, so I can easily make two projects from each kit.   And, I did make two cards from every kit!

This is the second of the two cards from kit #10, from Darlene. Darlene hand delivered my kit in January when she came to visit.  It was a fun kit with 5 or 6 different snowy images.  She also gave me a 6x6 pack of patterned paper and an assortment of embossed cardstock and metallic papers. There was also a many different ribbons and matching embellishments.  I hope I did OK and that Darlene likes my creations.  Thanks Bunches for a great kit Darlene!!! My first card from Darlene's kit was posted yesterday, so be sure to check it out.

There is one more kit to come--tomorrow you will see Terry L's card!

Jolly Snowman

We are now in the second week of February, and I am showing you two more of the card kits I received in January. I trying to get them all done in February. My goal for this card kit group this time around is to make two projects from every kit.  Every person who sends me a kit includes quite a few images--and many times there are a couple of different images included in each kit.  And, the senders are very generous in the papers and embellishments, so I can easily make two projects from each kit.   Wish me Luck on both counts!  Oh, and in case you have not made the connection if you are a frequent visitor to my blog, my wish list for the month of kits was Snow!  Snowmen, snowflakes, snowing, and anything with that fluffy, white stuff.  Not heavy--just fluffy!

This is my second card is from kit #4, sent by Terry S. Terry sent a fun kit with a few different images and a whole bunch of matching sentiments.  Most of them made me laugh out loud.   She also included a bunch of great patterned papers and matching embellishments for me to use.  I hope I did OK and that Terry likes my creations.  Thanks Bunches for a great kit Terry!!!  My first card from Terry's kit was posted yesterday, so be sure you look back to see it--I know you will laugh out loud!!!

Four kits down--7 to go!  This group runs the entire year of 2017 and we have someone to send to every month, until December.

My Special Friend

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the image I  provided this month for Card #19!  We have been doing this for more than a year and a half now and it has been blast! Kelly is up next for the May challenge and I know she is already thinking about it.  Be sure to come back to see what we create!

For our card this month, I sent out a pretty D. Morgan spring image that I thought might be a challenge.  It was fun to color up and I added some pearls to add some bling.  I also consider Kelly and Jeanette two of my special friends-just like the stamp says.

I also used my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on the flowers, so they look like they are glistening in the rain.

Here is the inside of my card:

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  They may post today, or it may be upcoming, so be sure to check out their blog for their card!

Crafty Girls Honor Sassy

It is the 5th of the month, so I am back with another challenge of the Crafty Gals! We are a group of bloggers who have monthly challenges, caring comments & fun chit chat on SCS—our favorite stamping site to visit.

This year our challenges are going to be a bit different. Each month, Melina will chose one of our group to highlight and our challenge is to CASE a card from her blog—or make a card that highlights some of her loves. This month the person to CASE is Sassy!  Here is a link to her blog.

This is what Melina posted about Sassy:  We are showing love to Sassy this month! Sassy (Joan) is our GAL for August! She loves bright colors, flowers and ribbon. She makes the prettiest altered items. I mean have you seen what she did with that rock! Hello!!!! AWESOME! I have also seen some beautiful journals on her blog. So, there are many, many, many things to inspire you for August. Go look through her blog and get inspired!!!!!

I hope Sassy likes my card and that she feels it reflects who she is.  I colored up a new to me D. Morgan stamp that I got at a recent rummage sale.  I love irises and I hope Sassy does too!  And-I hope the rest of the Crafty Girls also like me card this month!

The Gift of Music

This is the second of the two swap cards I made for Jeanette’s newest forest swap on SCS—the theme is “Music in the Forest”.  I realize there is nothing “forestry” on this card—However…..the forest is the place we visit and chat and chat some more.  We were directed to make a card that reminds us of music.  Thanks to the inspiration by my friend Darlene, I have inked up one of the few D. Morgan stamps I have and love the sentiment around the outside--The Gift of Music is a Gift From God.

I also placed some washi tape on the inside—I just bought it this past week at Mike’s!
